Avoid at all cost
I find this place a absolute disgrace of a company only 2 staff on wait at reception for more then 10 minutes before we can checking in because one of staff trying to cook food and the other one delivering stock to rooms we only get 30minutes of free WiFi when working away meant to get £20 meal allowance to be told that we can only get £14.50 meal deal that’s not right good food having to eat out most of time can’t get a drink so where does that extra £5.50 go price list of beer is out of date avoid if possible places like this is more people who have a affair/one night stand
Adrianna The Angel of Thetford
I book a stay once a month at Thetford and I always meet Adrianna who takes time to make sure I have everything I need. An absolute professional and a credit to the company.
Dear Travelodge Management Team,
Dear Travelodge Management Team,
I am writing to formally raise a concern about the poor service and unprofessional behaviour I recently experienced at Travelodge Newcastle Central.
Upon my arrival, it took over an hour to check in as a member of staff named Sophie repeatedly issued me a room key that did not work. After trying the key several times without success, I politely asked Sophie to accompany me to the room to see what the issue might be. She refused, insisting that the key worked, and instructed me to try again. This was particularly distressing as I had just travelled for seven hours and was extremely tired.
A fellow guest at reception noticed my struggle and expressed sympathy, stating that the way I was being treated was wrong. Another staff member named Billy later offered to assist and accompanied me to the room. She also could not open the door and mentioned that it might be broken, adding that only Sophie knew how to unlock the doors.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have been treated disrespectfully by Sophie. On previous occasions, she has been dismissive, issued deactivated keys, and refused my reasonable room requests. I have also observed her treating other guests differently and more courteously, which makes me feel that her attitude towards me is discriminatory and unacceptable.
On this particular visit, when I entered the hotel, she greeted me with, “What do you want?” — which I found extremely rude and unprofessional. Despite explaining that I had travelled a long distance and was exhausted, she showed no empathy or concern and offered no apology for the inconvenience.
I have continued to book with Travelodge in the hope that previous issues might have been isolated incidents, but I now believe this matter needs to be properly addressed. Sophie’s behaviour has caused me significant stress, anxiety, and discomfort, and I feel that no customer should be treated in such a manner.
I respectfully request that Travelodge investigate this incident and take appropriate action to ensure all guests are treated fairly and with respect.
Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to your response.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Stay at Birmingham Travelodge!
I had an excellent experience during my stay at the Birmingham Travelodge. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. A huge thank you to Dawn T, Faisal, Adama, Shanon, Ayes, and Gita, each of them was absolutely amazing!
They were friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect. The room was spotless, the atmosphere was relaxed, and every interaction felt warm and personal. It’s rare to find a team that works together with such enthusiasm and kindness.
I couldn’t have asked for a better stay, I’ll definitely be returning and recommending this Travelodge to anyone visiting Birmingham.
Travelodge London Finsbury Park & their Lost and found department!
I’ve stayed from Saturday 11 Oct. 2025 till Monday 13th Oct. 2025 @Travelodge Finsbury Park, located very close to Public transport.
After I arrived home I unfortunate found out that my small purple case of some jewellery was missing!! I think it got lost while packing my suitcase in room (416). Unfortunate cause of a launch party I had I travelled with a golden bracelet with red beads which was very dear to me, was my late moms. Who had suddenly passed away on the age of 59 yrs because of a stroke. We even couldn’t said our goodbyes.
Very shocked & emotionally I’ve called the hotel after being back at home.
The lady really did her best to check and later also with Housekeeping. I was called back but nothing was found ☹️. I so hoped that there would be honest people that would bring back what was not theirs…😒. (I’m even willing to pay to only get that 1 bracelet of sentimental value back, the rest they can keep it!!! Please call me +31628333623).
Overall the location is very easy to travel to and from with the tube or bus stop in front of the entrance. The tube station Finsbury Park is just around the corner like 5 min walk.
In the room you only hear the noise of the trains when the window is open. Also the soap for the hand wash machine needs to be refilled.
Breakfast experience was good even food was delicious and still warm & fresh. On Sunday the lady made was very flexible around the end time of the availability of breakfast cause I came in the last quarter.
Some advice on Monday at the breakfast the tables were clean but you still could smell the smell of beer while having your breakfast.
When I’d asked at the reception desk which bus I could take back to the international station St Pancras, because I noticed the bus stop in front of the entrance I totally got info which would me travel way longer to the station for my connecting with the international train. Google maps had given me an other bus number which would get me quicker. Maybe better to check Google maps for real time traffic info while giving advice.
Despite paying for a nights stay…
Despite paying for a nights stay received a £100 parking fine from Horizon parking. Messaged Travelodge who apologised and said they would contact Horizon to confirm we were a paying guest and have the ticket. That did not happen and now the ticket has been sent to debt collectors .. what a hassle..

STRATFORD UPON AVON
Bar was cash only. My partner ordered one white wine spritza and one soda and lime. Charged over £11.00. Was shocked at this price and questioned it politely, to be confronted by bartenders response of "I dont make up these prices". Spoilt evening of expensive 2 drinks (we are pensioners) and unnecessary rudeness of bartender.
One star only because zero is not an…
One star only because zero is not an option. Tried to book a hotel in Kendal for £67.99, when I got the confirmation through, I was booked into M6 Northbound Burton for £60, this may or may not have been my fault, phoned customer service immediately, but I was told that I could not change the hotel, only the date, told him I was actually offering Travelodge more money. Still, obviously, the computer says "no". I have just changed the date of my return journey, which cost £12.50 for making an online change. Unbelievable, they care nothing about customers, just making money. I have a booking in January with them worth £2,800 - but as I said they care nothing about customers!
Travelodge Monks Cross York
Travelodge Monks Cross York. Very clean and welcoming hotel. Well placed for touring or stop over and very close to the City of York. Accessible rooms very well designed, one of the best we have experienced. Excellent staff.
I was due to be released from hospital…
I was due to be released from hospital after chemo. The hour was late and the weather stormy, so I somewhat desperately booked a room for the night. Unfortunately my condition deteriorated and I had to stay, furthermore was told I couldn't have a refund in any way, shape or form. We've used them several times before and never had any complaints, poor under the circumstances in my view.
They are truly thieves
They are truly thieves. I made two separate bookings on their website on September 21 for different cities. The next day, September 22, I cancelled 2 of the bookings, but they neither refunded my money nor informed me that the bookings had been cancelled.
Two weeks later, I contacted their cancellation office, but I received no resolution despite their admission that I had cancelled my booking and was entitled to a refund. Unfortunately, they still have not returned the money.
After that, I contacted PayPal and my bank, and they refunded the
amount, with the expectation that they would follow up with the company's management (Travelodge).
Travelodge Royal Tunbridge Wells-My…
Travelodge Royal Tunbridge Wells-My wife suffers with asthma . We paid £15 to enter the room early and the room was musty . She is allergic to mould spores and started reacting almost instantly.
I did not want to exacerbate her condition so we quietly left without making any complaint.
The room was £93 for a Saturday night and to be honest it wasn't worth a tenner.
So very disappointed , so much choice in the area and I clearly chose wrong. Do not stay there .
I have spent £108 and had nothing for it . I will never use Travelodge again. They sent me constant emails leading up to my stay asking me to pay to choose my room ...... if only I knew .not worth it .
I do not expect their policy will give me a refund but it should , it was really very poor . Room was ok , bathroom was old . But mould was evident in the air. 2 days on and my wife is still not well.
Budget friendly
My recent stay at the travel lodge Talke Stoke on Trent for one night was satisfactory….. I went with my mother and we stayed for one night as we came from Kent to visit my grandmother in a care home.. we shared a room, which when we first entered it was a very musky smell and we opened the windows to air it. It was situated just off the motorway. Overall it was clean and a really comfortable nights sleep… some noise from other customers in the corridor late at night but that didn’t last long. Overall budget friendly accommodation.
Travelodge London Excel
Travelodge London Excel, only 3 minute walk from Royal Albert DLR, friendly welcoming staff. Rooms are basic but clean, shower was nice. Breakfast was okay, mention to Abdul, who was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Massively overpriced
Massively overpriced. If you’re going to be a budget hotel, then be budget. Charging for parking and wifi is fine if it means keeping the price of the room low, but you still charge £80+ per room. I recently booked two nights at Cheltenham TL so I could stay opposite the hospital. When I tried to reduce my stay to one night, well in advance, not only did you not give a refund, but you tried to charge an extra £12.50 for the privilege. You’re a company that no longer serves a purpose, and the sooner you go under the better.

Worst hotel I've ever dealt with
Worst hotel I've ever dealt with. Even if we ignore the old, deprived rooms they overcharge for... the fact they charge for WiFi that can barely surpass 1mbps is outrageous and should be illegal.
