Review of The Co-operative Bank

Co-op Bank, Southampton Bad Experience

Really poor experience of Co-op Bank Southampton branch. Website states closes at 3pm. Travelled over an HOUR to find branch had closed at 1.45pm due to 'staff shortages". An elderly couple in front said they had arrived just before 1.45pm and had the door shut in their face. Co-op should hire more reliable staff and not mess customers about. And no I cannot do what I need over the phone or online. I won't be banking with Co-op Bank ever again and I will be pleased to be rid of them and their crap service.

UPDATE: I have received a response from Co-op Bank but I do not use Facebook or X. Co-op Bank in Southampton have not said what steps they will put in place to stop this problem occuring to other customers in the future.

Review of Primark

Primark don't listen to customers

I am becoming more and more unhappy with Primark. They now charge 15p for paper bags that used to be free. No reason has been given for the new charge. Primark previously stated the paper bags were created as a byproduct of their delivery packaging. The 'bright spark" at head office who came up with the new charge are clearly completely detached from their average customer. In the UK, shops only legally have to charge for plastic bags. When I go into Primark, even new line items are completely out of stock in my size. As a man I do not want to share a changing room with women - I want my dignity and privacy respected. I would appreciate it if only males (and/or trans men) are allowed to use the male changing area - I don't want to share it with women as it makes me feel uncomfortable.

Refuse to publish genuine negative reviews

Biased and waste of time website. Positive reviews are published instantly but negative reviews are ignored and never appear. Instead of helping patients be informed this website actually helps to hide bad practice by UK medical professionals and perpetuates a cover-up culture in the NHS.

Horrific return experience

Doing a return on ASDA George clothing items, bought online, has been a complete nightmare. The QR/return code no. didn"t work in store. Then had to supply order no., email address and telephone for staff to do return manually. Didn"t received any form of return receipt in store. When checked my emails found that I had only received refund for 2 out of the 3 items returned.

No mirrors in the store

Shoes are good quality for a reasonable price. In the past I have found staff in shops in be helpful. Message to the CEO (Anthony Smith): I have only given three stars as I have been very disappointed that there are absolutely no mirrors in store. Every reputable clothes or shoe shop should realistically have at least one full length mirror in store. A two foot wide, full length mirror would not take up much room in the store. I would have bought a lot more shoes from Shoe Zone, more regularly, if they had a mirror for me to try them on.

Difficult to open Account in Branch

I cannot understand my if is so difficult for existing Skipton customers to go into a branch and open a new account. There are usually 4 or 5 people in the back office and only 1 person in the front of branch. It should only take 10-15 minutes to open an account, so why do you have to book an appointment when advisors in the branch are clearly available? It is such a lot of unnecessary faff and wastes a lot of time.

OK investments, but.....

Only suitable if looking to invest over 3-5+ years. Investor fees have increased from 1% to 2% of initial investment amount. HMRC don't always issue the tax certificates in the current tax year - it is hard work to claim the reliefs afterwards.

No network coverage for weeks! Mast not working

For well over a week, there has been absolutely no Three network signal in the Hindhead, Surrey area. I have paid for a month's PAYG usage but I am not able to even make/receive calls or texts. The Three website says that they have been 'working to fix the issue' for well over a week now - the shoddy level of service really is not good enough for customers. I am fed up with the poor service and will be leaving them.

Website Delivery Charges Problem

Tried to buy some small coin packs but the delivery cost quoted to the UK is ridiculous. Website is stating delivery cost of £40 for only £40-50 worth of goods. Most IoM retailers would charge max. £5 delivery. There is obviously a problem with their website listing items at completely incorrect weights.

LGSCO are horrifically bad

The LGSCO ignored a very serious complaint about blatant corruption and inappropriate behaviour by Chichester District Council Planning and Enforcement Department. Even if you submit all the evidence, they don't even bother to start to investigate 99% of complaints. The LGSCO is a complete and utter farce. It is a waste of time as it doesn't do it's job properly and all of the staff are crap. It should be disbanded and a proper regulator put in it place. I would give zero stars if I could!

Poor treatment of branch customers

They have committed to keep branches open and spent a significant amount on branch refurbishment/rebrand but saving rates for branch savers are poor. They could easily offer the One Year Triple Access Savings/ISA in branch but they don't bother!

Not a Professional Service

My 3 pay-as-you-go mobile phone service was cut-off. 3 did not bother to send me any warning or notification message prior to being disconnected. It took 3 hours and 4 different webchat advisors to find out anything.

PS: I don't use social media so I cannot reply to the usual 'social media webchat2- Salman' spiel.

Let down by website/ordering problems

Just tried to place an order on their website but the Tracked Click & Collect UK delivery option stated on their website is not working. The Canterbury.com livechat agent I messaged confirmed that their computer system showed that there is a fault with their website. The agent suggested that I try to order again in 48 hours but some of the items I was going to order are only on offer today (for 24 hours) so I will miss the offer on them. Overall, a bit disappointed in an otherwise good company.

Unable to install after 4 hours of trying!

Norton has seriously gone downhill in the past few years. Not able to install on my tablet or mobile device after over 4 hours of trying. Also, Norton try to bully you in to auto renewing at very expensive rates. I think they are taking advantage of vulnerable customers.

Confusing Online Returns Process

Overall, I am a bit disappointed with Greaves Sports online purchase. I received one item in the wrong size and I found the returns process very confusing. You have to pay for returns and it appears that you also have to pay £1 return fee on top of that for each item returned.

Hi, Can you please provide an order number so we can look in to this?

Also £1 is taken off a return order for postage and packaging when our returns service is used. This is for the order and not per item.

Flannels, Southampton Closed Early with Staff in Shop

Tried to visit Flannels store in West Quay Shopping Centre, Southampton on Thursday 29th Dec 2022 which the Flannels website stated as open until 8pm. Lights were on and saw at least two staff on the shop floor but the shop doors were locked early at 7.40pm. There was no sign to say why the store was closed early. Overall, I was a bit disappointed in what is supposed to be a high end shop. It is their loss as I am a high spending customer.

They no longer accept cash!

Staff have always seemed quite helpful. Unfortunately, they no longer accept cash for payment on collection of your auction items. Ewbanks claim this is because of anti money laundering regulations but they do not say which regulations. Ewbanks say customers can pay by credit/debit card but I was not given that option for paying for my items.

Reply from Ewbanks

Thank you for your message. This is the result of recent changes to the new anti money laundering regulations which we are now governed by. We have been told we cannot any longer accept cash payments for our clients account by our bank. We accept payment by cards (credit and debit) as well as bank transfers. Thank you. The act in question is Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017. This is our bank (a well known international bank) advising us that we cannot accept cash into a clients account under this legislation. Clients accounts are very important as a means of ring fencing and protecting clients money so we have no option but to comply with this. All customers are given the option to pay by credit and debt cards and the PDQ machines are on the reception desk with a notice about accepted methods of payment.

It is not very eco-friendly that you…

It is not very eco-friendly that you have to go all of the way to the Bank of England to change any old £20 or £50 notes. There are virtually no places at Post Offices in the South East of England that will accept them, and even then, you can only change a max of £300 a year if you have ID. Overall, really disappointed in the Bank of England.

Post Office messed up Driving Licence Renewal

Renewed my driving licence at the Post Office, Waterlooville in August. PO staff member took my photo, my fee and confirmed that my details were submitted to DVLA. Four weeks later, I telephoned the DVLA and they say they had never received my renewal details. I have now been waiting approaching 7 weeks for a new licence. I have contacted the Post Office but have not had a solution yet. Really disappointed and upset. Renewing my driving licence should not be such a drama and take over 7 weeks.
