Shifting Goal Posts

On 4 August 2025, I purchased a £1,600 MSI laptop from them. The unit arrived the OS was faulty, it could not be repaired or reset, so it was returned for replacement as per their instructions.

Their live chat assured me that once they had received the unit and confirmed the laptop was in the box, a replacement would be dispatched without haste. At the time, I thought this was great customer service, and I was happy with that.

They received the return on 13 August. By 15 August, having heard nothing, I contacted them again via live chat to see if the new unit had been dispatched. I was then told I would have to wait a further 7–14 working days for a replacement. This directly contradicts what I was originally told and is entirely unacceptable.

I paid £300 extra for a 7-day care/repair plan because this laptop is essential to my business. Without it, I cannot attend remote client meetings, so their delays are causing real financial harm.

What is more the only way to talk to their customer care team is using a premium phone number at goodness knows how much per minute, a bit of a liberty when I have already paid £300 for support and care.

My initial confidence in Curry's customer service has evaporated. I will be highly reluctant to make future purchases from them. I spent a total of £1,900 two weeks ago, and I still cannot run my business fully because I remain without a laptop for remote client appointments.

Avoid them

Avoid them. Impossible to get hold of. I purchased a laptop costing over £2100 it turned up faulty and was returned. The laptop has been received by them and the 5 working days for refund has passed and nothing. Their live chat will just run you in useless circles. I found two phone numbers and both of them just ring and ring. Time to go to resolver and If I get no joy from that I will just have to initiate a chargeback

Customer service still woefully…

Customer service still woefully inadequate.
Evri have managed to completely lose 2 out of 9 parcels sent. The only support is via an automated system. I have lost £40 worth of stock due to their carelessness and they keep sending me emails with a link to a claim form. The link leads to a page that does not exist. No way to contact a real person, no claim form to be found anywhere on their site.

Just switched to DPD I cannot afford to lose stock because they cannot run their own business correctly

The copied and pasted canned reply below says it all. Trying to contact them from their so-called contact page is a nightmare

Same old lack of care

Same old lack of care. Sent 9 parcels, and they have managed to lose two of them. Repeated automated messages saying they were looking for it. Finally, two emails providing a link to a claim form. Neither link worked both led to a 404 missing page error. As usual, absolutely no way to get hold of a real person. Over to DPD it is.

Your phone system is a waste of time and the claim form cannot be found anywhere on your site. You have my customer details, how about you actually provide support and just call me

Absolute RIP OFF!

My wife bought one of their cat advent calendars for £6, each window has two TINY treats inside it, this is an absolutely CRIMINAL rip off! You can buy a whole bag of these kinds of treats in any supermarket for less than £2.

Truly disgusting!

This company is a mess

This company is a mess. Sold a £400 speaker on Ebay and the buyer arranged for this Shiply to collect it. I was told the collection driver would bring the shipping labels to attach to the box.

They turned up the first time with no labels and expected me to hand over a £400 parcel with no tracking, no labelling and no proof they had taken it. He said "We will sort it out at the depot" I asked how the depot staff would know what it was and where it was going when it had no label or barcode. He could not answer obviously I refused to let them take it, they said they would re-arrange collection in a few days.

Collection was re-arranged guess what? Second driver turns up with no labels and no means of tracking again I sent them packing.

At this point I offered to send it to the buyer using Parcelforce 48 fully insured and he agreed.

Shiply then said that they were coming today again I told them the client had changed his mind and this was no longer being shipped with them, they complained they had not been informed. I sent them a copy of a message on THEIR system to show they clearly were.

Incidentally this was sent for £28 with Parcelforce FULLY insured. Shiply were charging the buyer £49 bit of a difference!

I would be very wary of using this company

NOW TRULY RUBBISH!

I rented servers from this company for over 6 years and they were awesome. Then they sold out to World Host Group, who are a complete nightmare. If you are still hosting here, PLEASE PLEASE move as quickly as you can.

This outfit looks like another EIG. They buy out successful smaller hosting companies, and the service immediately starts to suffer.

After the buy out, the first time I put in a support ticket it took them 8 hours to reply, then a further 9 hours to respond to a follow-on question.

This morning the server went down for a total of 9 hours 50 minutes, came back up for 30 mins and now MYSQL is failing so all the sites are down again and have been for another 5 hours. Fortunately we had already migrated all our clients to another server ready for a switch as I could see the decline in service coming. We are just going to have to do that ahead of schedule.

Same old story, a big corporate buys up great smaller companies, then starts making cuts to please their shareholders, increase profit margin and the service goes from excellent to appalling very quickly.

There is a list of all the hosts they acquired, on their site worldhost.group. If you're with any of those, do yourself a favor and move before you have a big issue and lose clients.

*******UPDATE******
Now about 18 hours later and we still cannot access our WHM and the servers are still down they came back online for about an hour but were as slow as hell.

The original excuse was a power outage, here was me thinking all data centers had backup power. Now they claim there are hardware issues. This really is farcical.

Review of Dell

Dells Service Has Become A Farce!

Dells Service Has Become A Farce!

This is the second time I have had my office work station put out of action by a bad BIOS update from Dell. Last time they sent out an engineer next day to my office (A service I pay hundreds per year for) they sent him with a replacement motherboard that was faulty so he ended up coming back the next day, two 80 mile round trips for him instead of one.

A few days ago another Bios update from Dell left my work station completely dead for a second time. Today the engineer turned up spent quite a while replacing the motherboard and still the computer is not working. He advised it would need to be sent away for 7 to 12 days for repair. What a waste of time and money buying an on-site warranty.

A short while after he left I get a thank you email from Dell stating the engineer had been and he confirmed the work had been completed and the computer was now working. This is in COMPLETE LIE and a blatant contradiction to the actual work report they also sent me.

I want to clarify here this is a £4000 plus computer not a £400 home computer. I expect WAY better service than this.

Dell were one of the best companies for business computers, not any more! The entire service is an expensive farce and I for one will not be working with them in the future. Better to have a custom build done and find a good local repairer.

Review of Jetline Holidays

Do not trust this company

Called them to book a holiday advertised at £299 per person of course there were the usual add-ons for hold baggage etc I expected that. In the end, the total was £826 for half board in a 5-star Greek hotel I was happy enough with that. He takes card details says he will book it all and call back to confirm.

15 minutes later I get a call telling me that there are no double rooms left and I could only book a deluxe room for an extra £200. I told him to cancel the booking. He put me on hold and came back with a discount. I said no please cancel it he agreed.

Another 15 minutes pass and he calls me back with another discount on these upgrades. I thought he was working hard and reluctantly accepted it. He again said he would book it all and call back.

He called back a few minutes later and told me that the flight would be booked direct with the airline and I would get a separate email about that.

At this point, I just had a gut feeling something was not right. I told him to forget it and just cancel the whole thing. He told me there would be a £100 cancellation fee as he had already booked it. Here was the first lie, I knew nothing had come off my card as I temporarily froze it as something did not smell right.

My wife had checked reviews on Trustpilot while I was on the phone and told me they had done this room upgrade routine for others.

I then went both to jet2.com and the hotel's site directly and guess what there were PLENTY of double rooms left so that was another lie.

Something does not smell right with this company and it turns out I was right to trust that gut feeling. In the end, I booked the same holiday and hotel with jet2. It may have cost a little more but at least I got exactly what I wanted and can trust there will be no issues.

My advice steer clear, you get what you pay for.

Review of Store Google

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Absolute nonsense

Absolute nonsense!
I purchased a Google pixel 6 directly from them and was awarded £69.90 in free store credit. Decided to get a chromecast for £59.99. Added it to the cart the credit was applied and the invoice total was £0.00

I went to check out and they tried to put a hold on my card for £59.99 for an invoice with a total of zero.

I contacted them to say there was an error with their system and they informed me it was not an error it was normal practice and that within 21 days of the item being sent the hold for £59.99 would be removed from my card. This I refused to accept.

They tried all sorts of excuses like "Google Store would like to place an authorization hold in your account to make sure that this is a valid transaction and no one is placing an order without your permission." This is utter nonsense! If they wanted to verify I was the account holder they could have simply performed an active card check they already had my card details.

Very long story short they refused to budge and I told them to keep their store credit. It will however cost them I have just cancelled TWO storage accounts and despite being a fan of the pixel phones having now purchased 3 models they have lost that business too NONE of my future phones will be Google phones.

Just for good measure I switched my browser to Sidekick and I will be dumping my Gmail account too.

This is a company that constantly lectures web designers and developers about customer experience yet do not follow their own advice on what should be a frictionless, simple, fast transaction to reward loyalty.

NO CLEAR SUPPORT

Before sending a parcel with Evri I challenge you to contact them.

Their chatbot is hell-bent only on tracking codes. If you call their phone line same thing they ask if your tracking code begins with a number if you say no (Because most don't) it asks for the first four digits of your tracking code you cannot enter letters on your phone keypad so again you end up in a constant loop.

There is an issue with their site today that I tried to report but you simply CAN NOT contact them. This HAS to be illegal for a company trading in the UK?

Out of date spreads delivered

Sorry on this occasion just one star. They delivered 4 jars of spread with a best before date of two months ago. Emailed them about a return and have heard nothing.

UPDATE
Received a reply from them assuring me that products that were 2 months past their best before date would be fine. What about when we finally get to the fourth jar a few months from now?

They also said if I wanted to return it would be at my expense (more than the value of the goods)

Discounts on products approaching their expry date in the next few months perhaps, but sending out products that are two months beyond their best before date? I wonder how many upeset tummies these people cause in the persuit of profit?
