Review of Coolshop

Incredibly bad return experience

I had to return two items due to them arriving damaged. According to the tracking the items haven't moved for six weeks during shipment and are still "ready to ship" but Coolshop refuse to do anything about the issue.

It's clear from the tracking that I've returned the items. I proved with photos that the items were damaged. The issue is clearly with Coolshop's delivery partner. But they refuse to investigate the issue or acknowledge that there's a problem.

This issue has been going on for 2 months now and I've contacted customer service about it a dozen times. Any other shop would have simply refunded me by now, but Coolshop have been unbelievably unhelpful and useless.

I've used Coolshop a lot in the past and never had any issue. This is the first time I've had to return something and it's been an absolute disaster. Just pray that when you make your order nothing goes wrong, as if it does, they will not help you.

Edit: In response to the below, I did raise a case through 'claimlane' at the time (ref #788023). I spoke to customer service reps via this case and separate online chats multiple times, and it was impossible to get any help for months.

It does not surprise me that Coolshop were unable to find evidence of my claimlane case, as they are absolutely useless.

Dark patterns and dodgy subscriptions

Gamivo use dark patterns to get you to unknowingly subscribe to their paid subscription service, then when you try to unsubscribe they don't process your cancellation. They are scam artists and swindlers. AVOID.

Review of Dyno-Rod

No-show time-wasters

I phoned Dyno Rod to book an engineer to deal with an urgent plumbing issue that involved water constantly leaking from my sink upstairs.

Dyno Rod advised that an engineer would come out to me later that evening, and that they would phone me half an hour before they arrived. I waited all evening, while constantly bailing out water created by the leak and trying to resolve the issue myself, but nobody came or called.

The next day I phoned Dyno Rod to ask why nobody came to deal with my urgent issue and they said that, as I wasn't a British Gas customer, they couldn't help me. They had asked me on my initial call if I was a British Gas customer and I'd said 'no' but they didn't say at the time that that would be an issue, and told me explicitly that my emergency appointment with an engineer was booked for that evening.

So basically, I spent all evening dealing with an emergency waiting for Dyno Rod to come, when if they had just been honest from the start I could have BOOKED A PLUMBER WHO WOULD ACTUALLY SHOW UP.

Dyno Rod are time wasters who have no compassion or consideration for anyone dealing with urgent and stressful situations.

A superb alternative to an in-person vet visit

The service was easy to use and the advice received was friendly, helpful and reassuring.

When it comes to concerns that don't appear to be an immediate emergency this service is, in my opinion, far preferable than the stress of taking your pet to a vet's practice. However, you can be safe in the knowledge that if they think an in-person vet visit is necessary, they'll recommend one.

Prompt delivery and game arrived in…

Prompt delivery and game arrived in perfect condition. Also, the game in question (Fire Emblem: Awakening) is generally very expensive these days and 365games were by far the cheapest retailer selling it AND I could get a further discount by using my Player Points.

I have found ShopTo very reliable in …

I have found ShopTo very reliable in the past, but on this occasion they used DPD to send me my parcel.

DPD first tried to deliver my parcel to the wrong address, then twice failed to even attempt to deliver at all on subsequent days. Finally, after I had been granted an evening delivery slot, they attempted delivery in the middle of the day when I was not at home.

I still do not have my item.

I will never use ShopTo again while they use DPD as a courier.

Great, friendly service. Willing to go the extra mile.

I ordered Metro Redux for Xbox a while ago but when I saw it a little bit cheaper elsewhere I asked if I could cancel my order. They very quickly (and politely) replied to my query and said they'd be happy to cancel the order, but they could instead offer me store credit of the difference between the two prices, which I was happy to accept. I used the store credit to buy SSX for Xbox 360 for next to nothing, and both games arrived incredibly quickly. (SSX arrived the day after I ordered it and Metro came on release day.) Ultimately I'm very glad I kept my order with VideoGameBox as their service was fantastic in all respects.
