Tamworth Central

Great staff who are very friendly, polite and helpful but the hotel has faults. It is next to a busy road or a train line, depends where you are. I stayed in both areas and you are awoken either early morning by the cargo trains or all through the night by loud vehicles. There is no air conditioning so when it's hot the window has to be cracked open and even the smallest opening amplifies the sound. Secondly in our last visit there was no extractor fan running in the bathroom so the bathroom was becoming saturated and dries overnight leading to a stench of musky stale water, something you notice when you first open the door upon arrival. Plus I do not need to report what lingers for some time when the toilet is used.

OK until you have to contact these

I have been with these for a number of years and had no problem. That is until you need to contact them. They 'push the app' saying that you can do loads on there without using the phone, or you can message them. That was not in my case, my query was not listed on the app, it was a phone call. I tried 3 times at different times of the day and every time I was told that they were experiencing a high number of calls with long waiting times. So I sent a message yesterday and I am still waiting for a reply. Very frustrating.

They do not reply to messages.

Bought a 3 week old car almost 3 years ago the sale was perfect as is the car. At the time I bought a service plan which expires soon and I sent a message asking how much it would cost to extend it. A number of weeks passed and I had no reply so I re-sent the message and soon had a reply that the message was intercepted and passed on to the relevant department. Again a few weeks have passed with no further replies. I am now looking elsewhere. Disappointing!

Really annoying ads popping up too…

Really annoying ads popping up too often. At the start of any programme, eight minutes later, and regularly after that. If you hit the Stop rather than Pause, they are there again! Why can't the server recognise that you have just suffered these ads and then override them. It happens on other channels.

The support is 2nd to none

The support is 2nd to none. My laser monkey failed just out of the warranty period. I contacted them and was asked to send in for inspection. After a few days I had great news that the laser had gone faulty and a replacement was sent to me FOC.

Highly recommended piece of kit.

I have owned my Beeline for a while now and it has been incredible. Well made, great battery life, easy to use and a clever app. I have had to contact Support a few times and they are brilliant. No matter how many time you ask questions they always come back to you until your query is solved. Highly recommended piece of kit.

ADS, ADS and more ADS

I seem to be mirroring other people's comment. One of my annoyances is the amount and the frequency of ads. When you select a programme you have to wait whilst you watch no fewer than SEVEN ads. Then, if you hit a button wrongly on the remote which causes the programme to stop, once you restart, the ads are shown again, even if you have just seen them. Another annoyance is the amount of lead-in time at the beginning of a programme where you see what is coming up. Then after the intervals you get told what you have just seen, or missed, before the program continues. In effect for a one hour program there may only be 40 minutes watching relevant material.

Currency exchange rip off

Don't exchange currency until you know exactly what it is costing. We saw a good rate at Ripon shop so went in to enquire. We did not need a lot because we normally go all inclusive. So we asked the assistant "was there any minimum that we had to buy? she said "NO". "Was there any commission / charges?" Again "No". So we bought £250 in Euros, we were not handed a receipt, nor were we told the rate. We assumed it was that displayed on the board. How wrong we were. We got back home and my wife had a moment, we checked the rate and instead of getting the expected 1.18 we got the equivalent of 1.09 to the pound. Went back to the shop only to be told it's because you have to buy £500 worth. Nowhere on the board is this mentioned except at the bottom, in miniscule print almost illegible, that T&C's apply. Which apparently you have to ask about in the store. We did but we were misinformed. The staff were so unforgiving, unsympathetic and unapologetic. We emailed to Head Office over two weeks ago but of course have had no reply.

Drop and go!

The crew called me and said that they would be there in under the hour. Great, I thought. They arrived 1+3/4 hours later. Dropped the tumble dryer just through the garage door, never asked where it was going or if I needed any help moving it. Just didn't hang around. I am 69 and my wife a little younger, we had to remove all packaging, man handle it through another door and LIFT it up to sit on worktop.

Have bought HC on and off for the last 3 or 4 years and it was a treat, but an expensive one. Yesterday I had a letter informing me of a price increase. That's the final straw and I too will not be visiting HC anymore.

Quick replacement of faulty kettle

Quick replacement of faulty kettle, new one arrived within one week. The one which was replaced was only one month old and l was shocked when it failed, being a Bosch. Luckily, I have a two year warranty so if it fails again something is not right. Bosch support was excellent.

The advisor answered all my questions

The advisor answered all my questions. He understood my requirements. Despite my NCD was upgraded from 7 years to 9+ years the price difference in the requite was just a quid! So I cancelled auto renew, looked around and saved a lot more (still with LV) by using a 3rd party site.

No way to check local stock level

I wanted an item which, after checking the website, I knew B&M sold. However my nearest B&M store is 8 miles away so I contacted Customer Service to see if they could tell me the stock levels in local stores. The answer was NO because, they reckon, that goods move out of the store all the time. Surely, if the B&M computer network was any good, then as an item is passed through checkout it could be deducted from the main database? I don't want to waste time and money visiting a store only to be disappointed.

5 stars on this occasion, but…..

I give 5 stars to the Customer Support agent for this occasion because he rectified the problem, the same cannot be said about other departments at Octopus. I recently transferred my solar cell account to them from a previous supplier and that took 3 months to get up and running and that was after my chasing people for answers. Replies to emails can take a while before you are contacted. Really disappointing.
