I booked a room for the 25th and 26th…

I booked a room for the 25th and 26th of September when I arrived I was told that that booking was actually for October so we were sent away as there were no rooms available since then I have emailed the travelodge and asked for a refund but have had no reply and tried to call a number of times but found it almost imposible to get through to anybody. After I spoke to my credit card company to cancel the they said they can not so I looked at the confirmation email with the wrong dates and canceled but with no refund.i realized there's not much I can do so,I feel like I have been scammed. Why would I cancel just to let travelodge rent out my room again so they can make more money on the room i had mistakenly all ready paid for , I see this as nothing more than criminal. I wouldn't of expected a so called legitimate company like the travelodge to be acting in this way with no regard for there customers. I havent got the time nor energy to chase up this complaint so I just want to warn people to be very carefull when using the website for bookings
