Sofa delivered with faulty electrics

Sofa delivered with faulty electric seat buttons. Also charging port for phone not working. Aftercare not answering phone for 2 days now

2 and 3 seater sofa

We went to SCS to just look around to see what was available that we not only loved but fitted in the space. Once in the store, we are greeted and shown sofas that met our expectations/requirements. We were given options and we then ordered our item. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful.

Delivery team carefully put our new Lazy Boy recliner sofa together. Only downside they didn’t speak English so couldn’t ask them any questions!

Tight Fit

Fabulous tracking. Opened door a few seconds before the lorry appeared having watched its journey online. Tight fit down my hallway with electric recliner. Placed in position and demonstration given. Great experience. Well done. Gail

Good experience we didnt feel pressured to buy

We went to have a look around for a new sofa. This is a big deal for us as after owning our own home for 24 years we have never bought one brand new. The staff were all friendly. We were offered a drink while looking round but didnt feel pressured or hassled by the staff. There was a good choice of furniture to try out. When we had decided one we liked Bianca provided us with the information we needed. She gave us a quote to take away with us and information on finance options. Again we didn't feel pressured by her to rush into buying. We went back a short time later and placed the order. Bianca was very helpful with the the process, gave us time to read the documents and explained everything to us.

The communication from scs is…

The communication from scs is absolutely shocking,we bought a sofa in Sept 2024, guaranteed for Christmas. We tried to ring the stevenage branch a week before to pay the balance. The waiting times on the phone was 183 minutes wait, which we tried several times, but the wait was ridiculous. So we drove to the store which was a 50 mile trip, to pay the balance. The manager apologised and said he could find any information out by phone, but would email and get back to us. Unfortunately he did not email us. I then send four more emails whic were unanswered. My husband rang the store again and waited 35 minutes to be connected. We were then given a date for delivery, which should have been the 13th Dec, then they gave us 3/01/25. Then we had a message to say it was the 28th which we then got a phone call saying all the drivers phoned in sick and it would then not arrived until the 30/12/24. The problem being my husband is disabled and we had to get people to come and move the furniture out for us. We then had nothing to sit on for the weekend. I think it disgusting that you advert says guaranteed for Christmas,it's a joke. There was not any compensation offered The guys that did eventually deliver the sofa were very good and helpful, and the sofa is great but I would not recommend scs to anyone.

Delayed delivery - no communication

Our sofas were due for delivery on 20/12/24. We removed the old sofas the day before but had heard nothing and the phone system said we’d hear the night before or the morning of delivery. Nothing happened so we went into the store who said there was a delay and they wouldn’t arrive until around 9/1/25. Not impressed.

The date shown on your order document of 20/12/24 is an estimate and so we do advise that this can change.
As per your terms and conditions the furniture can arrive 4 weeks either side of this.


Your order is now estimated to arrive with us around 09/01/25 and as soon as this is ready for delivery then we will contact you with the first available date.

Avoid the Stevenage branch

Used the Stevenage branch and would not recommend. The Sales Manager massively over promised and under delivered. When the sofas were not delivered by private courier as agreed on our requested date (at our expense), the Manager was very rude and unprofessional on the phone, blaming me, my husband and then the courier company. When the sofas finally were delivered, the delivery guys said they were never given the job, it came through as an urgent last minute job the night before. Whilst we’re happy with the products purchased, would use a different branch to avoid any interaction with this guy, he is unprofessional and completely untrustworthy.

Disgusting company

Purchased a recliner chair for my 92 disabled mother
It is faulty - repair team came out and verified this - told them we wanted a replacement as product only 4 months old - repair team agreed
We have now had a part delivered
Been into store many times they are no help continually passing the buck
They do not want to help at all
Aftercare team do not read emails messages or answer the phone
92 year old disabled customer left with no comfort
Disgusting company
CEO Steve Carson’s does not read emails or respond either
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Once they have your money they do not care
Manager of the store told us she would take the parcel with the part have taken taken the part there today and now they have refused to take it - what a joke
