Shady business practices
We used Northern Relo for a move from IN to GA recently. I was also talking to a couple of other companies at the time, one of them quoted me about the same price as Northern Relo and had a much better reputation (Asher Movers). The reason I ended up booking with Northern Relo is because the guy on the phone (Chase) said that they go this route all the time and "we have to say 7-10 days but it should only be 2-3 days". I really needed my things in time for my medical school clinicals. We were moving on 7/28 and I didn't need to start clinicals until 8/5. I thought 7 days should be PLENTY OF TIME to get my things. We were quoted 1400 and after reading a bunch of reviews online, I mentally prepared myself for it to end up being much more. We don't have that much stuff (about 600cuft) and it ended up costing us $2500 before they would load the truck I had to sign a new contract (US SAFE MOVING is the company they used to move us). Honestly that would have been fine if things went smoothly and I felt like the company was honest. After 7 days I sent an email that our things hadn't arrived and it cost me a lot of money to go out and buy all new medical supplies, clothes, white coat etc for my clinicals because everything was on the truck. I asked for a discount on the cost of everything and of course, crickets. Every time I called, emailed asking for an update I never got a call or email back. When I booked the service with Chase on the phone he said "you'll be dealing with me from start to finish" and I never heard back from him not once when I called and emailed throughout those 8 days. They delivered our things on the 8th day which seemed ridiculous it took that long. Our stuff was thrown all over the truck, a rocking chair thats been in the family for years was busted, and our lamp was busted. Its really just the shady business practices and lack of communication that pisses people off, not being honest up front. I feel like I got lucky compared to others when I read others reviews. One of the other moving companies advised me NOT to use this company and sent me their BBB rap sheet. They seem to be more well known for shady business practices. Just warning you do NOT use this company.
Thank you!
I used this company to move from NJ to FL and overall had a grreat experience!
I had such a great experience
I had such a great experience from start to finish. They were professional, punctual, and handled everything with care. The entire team was friendly, efficient, and made the entire moving process so much less stressful. Moving can be a hassle! They took great care of my belongings, and everything arrived in perfect condition. I really appreciated how organized they were throughout. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable moving company!
Worst Experience Imaginable
If I could give them negative five stars, I would. They suck as a moving company. They were unprofessional, untrustworthy, and unreliable. My son's items were picked up late, delivered way later, and damaged or missing. His mattress and clothes were delivered soaking wet. His more expensive items were simply stolen/missing. They escape accountability by using a 3rd party to handle the delivery. When things go woefully wrong, they then refer you to a contract that they violate at every opportunity. Please dont get scammed by these people. Go somewhere else and pay a little more for peace of mind and a professional moving service.
Great company
They lifted heavy stuff so I didn’t have to, heroes in disguise.
Hassle free
Hassle free, great communication and reasonable pricing. Can't get any better than that. Will keep them in my contacts for future moves. My move from NJ to FL was exceptional and will look to use them in the future
Seamless experience
Everything with this company was seamless. Employees were super helpful guiding me through this stressful process. We were looking at about a week but came early. 10 out of 10 recommend.
Easiest move out
They moved my life in boxes and didn’t break a thing! Truly miracle workers!
ABSOLUTE SCAM!
ABSOLUTE SCAM!! Beware of brokers when hiring moving companies. Booked about a month or so in advance and paid the deposit. Poor customer service, never reached out, I had to call them for information. About a week before pickup I gave them my inventory and never got a call from them. Called about when they were arriving and they said maybe Wednesday. Wednesday came and gone no contact. Tried to call when they never showed and their office was closed. I called on Thursday and they said my move was cancelled. Never picked up my stuff and couldn’t get a hold of someone to get my deposit back. DO NOT USE THEM!!!
SCAM ALERT
SCAM ALERT - NOT A RIGHT BUNCH OF PEOPLE
Based on the first movement experience from St. Louis, MO to Cary, NC, I went with these guys for my another movement from Cary, NC to Coppell, TX. Unfortunately, this one turned out to be a big Rod in my Ass. They not only taken out the money, but also provided False Estimate. During the Pickup, the driver came up with a new estimate which I never CONSENTED and no communication related to that and misled me to sign over the phone where the Insurance was not fully covered but only .60$ per LB FORCEFULLY, otherwise the pickup will not happen. Lot of Drama and I had to sign finally.
Result: They did not do the movement, this was done by someone else, ended up paying 50% more than the actual estimate. I had to WAIT for 20 days with no communication at all, losing most of the Items from the Items list. Now, in the process of claim. Not sure, I would receive my money/items or not. The lady's name is Erica with whom I had the conversation with. She is not lifting the call, nor responding to my calls. Went absconded.
I REQUEST EVERYONE, PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THESE GUYS.

Go anywhere else!
Do not, under any circumstances, use this company. They ask you to fill out a 'detailed inventory' telling them the type of furniture and number of boxes you're moving. We were given a quote based on those numbers, but when the movers arrived they said that the quote was grossly inaccurate, that they only had room on the truck for the bed and the couch, and to move all of my belongings would be an additional $1,000. We had already put down a $900 deposit. After multiple phone calls to 3 different customer services reps, they finally agreed to take all of the belongings for an additional $350. After loading up all of the belongings, they told us it would be 12-14 days for delivery, despite our contract stating it would be 3-5 days. After digging way down in the contract, it does state 12-14 days, but those numbers were never explicitly given to us. This resulted in needing to cancel flights on our end. When they finally arrived (almost 3 weeks later, because they don't count weekends or holidays), MANY of our belongings were damaged. They use packing tape directly on furniture that stripped paint off, large chunks of wood are missing from wardrobes, dresser tops are scratched, and screws are missing. They will not move your bed without a bed cover; despite putting one over the mattress, the bed cover was ripped and the mattress has permanent black marks on it. Additionally, it is a sleep number mattress and the tubes were so badly damaged that it will no longer inflate, another additional expense due to their lack of professionalism. Spend the money to go anywhere.
Choose Northern Relocation over DIY save yourself the headaches
I've always relied on family and friends for moves in the past, which honestly almost always ended in some kind of disaster. I was really anxious about hiring a moving company for the first time, but Victor was incredibly helpful and informative throughout the process. He took the time to walk me through what to expect and really put my mind at ease about the whole thing. Thanks to his guidance, the move went so much smoother than any of my previous DIY attempts. I'm definitely converted to using professional movers from now on, and Victors support made all the difference in having a positive first experience with a moving company.
Bait and Switch - Terrible Service - LIES LIES LIES
This is not a company to use for a large move (4 bed home or more). Their estimating software dramatically underestimates the size of the load and the truck size needed even when using a buffer for load size in estimating and adding double for most of the large items to accommodate.
I mentioned to the rep that we needed a semi for our house as we made this move 10 years earlier with a 3,500 SF 5 bed house. The rep was confident that the size was correct. The rep also explained that I would not need a cashiers check and could pay by credit card as this was a question I had because I did not have a access to cashiers checks and it’s 2025, run an ACH. The rep stated we could 100% pay with a personal check running the routing and account number or a credit card.
Leading up to the pick up date the drivers called 5 days prior everyday asking if they could pick up early and were annoyed when I told them we were not ready for them. 1 day prior to our scheduled date they just showed up and said we are ready. At this point I realized what a mess this was going to be. The truck was not even close to large enough nor was the truck the size that was agreed to in the contract. I was informed by the driver that the estimate was short by 1/2 and the cost was going to be double. Also the only way to pay for the service was a certified check.
STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN!!!!!

Incredible experience
“I had an incredible experience with this moving company! From start to finish, they made a typically stressful process feel smooth and easy. Jonathan, who provided the estimate, was thorough and transparent, setting us up with confidence from day one. Tammi and her moving team were nothing short of amazing – professional, efficient, and incredibly thoughtful with our personal items. They handled everything with care and moved at an impressive pace without ever compromising quality. I can’t recommend them enough; this was hands down the best moving experience I’ve ever had. Thank you for going above and beyond!”

MISLEAD
I’m going to tell you my experience with Northernrelo and you can decide if you want to use this company or not. My daughter is moving out of state and she called Jonathan to get a quote to move 31 boxes and a couch that sectioned off into 3 pieces. She sent pictures of this “couch” which is maybe a year old. She was quoted $1,700, my daughter still wanted to shop around and Jonathan told her she’s not going to find a cheaper price. After about a week she called him back and wanted to move forward. She put down $850 deposit. July 3rd this 3rd party company called 500 Move showed up (3 guys) and the leader Zee Gavino looked and acted upset and told me that the original estimate was WAY off and I asked why, his response was there are double the amount of boxes and the couch was “sectional”. My daughter sent emails with pictures of the couch as stated previously but also resent another email stating she had an extra 19 boxes. There was a total of 50 boxes (not double) The new cost came out to just over 4K for 19 extra boxes on top of the original 31. I looked at my daughter and said “this is why we should have went with professionals”. He said “sir, I am a professional” to which I replied “a professional scammer”! He told me that he didn’t care whether he got this job or not but if I don’t pay the extra $3,100+ he’ll keep her $850+deposit and it will take longer than the 8th to deliver. I ended up just paying it because I didn’t want my daughter to deal with looking anymore for a mover. He told me that my card was declined he said “probably because your bank thinks this is fraud”. I said “Well… THEY’RE NOT WRONG”. Got it all paid for and then he says “by the way, we aren’t guaranteed to deliver this on the 8th”. Even though that’s what was agreed upon with Jonathan. They ended up saying that they will be there between 3-5 on the 11th and then still didn’t show up until after 6 pm. Use them if you want but the original quote will be more than double from original agreement. Original quote was $1,700 and ended up paying just over 4K for 19 extra boxes.
One of the worst moving experiences of…
One of the worst moving experiences of my life. Avoid Northern Relocation and US Safe Moving at all costs.
I was sweet-talked by a Northern Relocation sales rep who promised me honesty, transparency, and care — none of which were delivered. The moment a third-party crew from US Safe Moving showed up, Northern Relocation washed their hands of any responsibility. And from the movers' attitude, it was clear they had no interest in treating my belongings with care. I was told multiple times, "not our problem."
I clearly labeled every box and item — fragile, heavy, this side up, do not tip, do not stack — and even wrapped large furniture with care. It didn’t matter. They rushed through the load-in, tipping pieces that should never be tipped and jamming items into tight corners of the trailer, ignoring my instructions entirely.
Seven days later, when my shipment finally arrived in Colorado, it was a different truck, a different team — and a disaster waiting to happen. The back of the truck was unstrapped and unsecured, and as soon as the doors opened, items began to fall out. My bicycle was crunched and broken — one of the first things I saw.
The new driver shook his head when I told him what had happened. He acknowledged how badly the job had been handled and admitted that cross-loading (which I was never warned about) is never a good idea. I was told my belongings would share the trailer with just one other family — turns out, it was clearly more than that. What was picked up at my house is not what arrived at my storage unit.
This entire process was careless, dishonest, and disrespectful — from both Northern Relocation and US Safe Moving. I’m writing this to warn others: do not trust these companies unless and until they drastically improve their practices and start treating people’s lives and property with the care they deserve.
I promised a review if it was a good or…
I promised a review if it was a good or bad move. They locked me in a good rate and they stuck to it i had a few extra items and was fine with the extra inventory. They protected and moved w care and very efficiently. the guys worked as a team .I would recommend to my friends who are moving. They did right by me .
