Avoid at all costs – £3,000 flagship DJ unit, zero support from DJ Superstore
If I could give 0 stars, I would.
I purchased an AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ (£3,000 flagship model) from DJ Superstore (order details: 24/06/2025, Receipt #SR460132). It was given to me as a gift and only recently used for the first time. Straight away the faults began:
• Three dead pixels on the display (one permanent, two intermittent).
• The entire screen will intermittently shut off during use, leaving me without any control despite the music still playing. In professional DJ environments like weddings and parties, this is an absolute nightmare — it’s happened anywhere from 5 minutes after powering on to several hours into a set. The only “fix” is powering down the entire unit, which is both embarrassing and completely unacceptable.
• The unit also develops sync issues — e.g., loading two tracks (132 BPM and 136 BPM), it will randomly halve the BPM of one deck. Even beat sync cannot correct this, destroying transitions and making me appear incompetent in front of clients.
These are not minor glitches — this is a £3,000 professional unit that is simply unfit for purpose.
When I contacted DJ Superstore for support, instead of standing behind the product, they palmed me off to Pioneer/AlphaTheta. Pioneer then pushed me straight back to DJ Superstore, stating it was the supplier’s responsibility. Yet DJ Superstore offered no help, no replacement, and no accountability.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a retailer is legally responsible for goods being of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. DJ Superstore completely ignored this and provided zero customer support.
In short: they were happy to take £3,000 for a flagship piece of equipment but when it developed serious faults, they didn’t care less. No empathy, no resolution, no professionalism.
Avoid DJ Superstore at all costs. If something goes wrong (and with this unit, it will), you’ll be left high and dry with no support whatsoever. Spend your money elsewhere with a company that respects its customers.

Really great experience shopping with these guys. My partner had some money from a whip round for his 50th birthday from his friends to put towards a new controller as his was knackered, he chose what he thought he wanted and we took finance out to cover the rest of the balance. Unfortunately Parcel Force were extra useless delivering the unit so we had to pick it up and we got it way after the purchase date. When Ben opened the box he soon realised he had ordered the wrong thing. We were concerned that the finance etc may interfere with us doing an exchange or refund. The guys over the phone at DJ Superstore were friendly, knowledgeable and called back when they said they would, they advised us what we actually needed and explained how to sort the exchange, we decided to actually make the 90 min drive to the store to do the exchange and they were just as fabulous in person! I now have an overjoyed partner with exactly what he wanted (Pioneer XDJ RX3) and can’t thank the guys enough! 5 star service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
