Awful business practices, lack of support, no refunds issued yet

This platform has been incredibly disappointing due to the sheer number of fraudulent businesses operating on it. I’ve had to flag multiple issues, notify SHOP, and fill out refund forms for items that were never shipped or delivered. In most cases, after numerous futile attempts to contact these merchants directly, I was left with no choice but to seek help from SHOP.

Yet, despite my efforts, SHOP has neither refunded me nor provided any confirmation that my requests are being reviewed. The lack of communication and resolution is beyond frustrating, especially as I have been waiting for months for refunds.

If your platform’s business model relies on offering various businesses a space to operate, then your excuse that “we cannot help who is a genuine business and which ones are fraudulent” is unacceptable. It leaves customers like me hesitant to trust your platform and willing to use it only as a last resort when no other options are available.

It’s time for SHOP to take responsibility for ensuring a safe and trustworthy shopping environment and to refund customers like myself who have been waiting far too long for fair treatment!

Manipulative and confusing subscription and cancellation processes


1. Misleading Subscription Practices!

ResumeCO lures customers in with a “free trial,”and require payment details upfront-
What they don’t make clear is that if you do not cancel before the trial ends, you’ll be automatically charged.

Moreover, there are NO PROMINENT REMINDERS , and the whole process feels designed to catch users off guard rather than offer a genuinely risk-free experience.

2. Frustrating and Confusing Cancellation Process!

Canceling your subscription is unnecessarily
difficult and feels intentionally MANIPULAtIVE, CONTRIVED and CONFUSING.

When you try to opt out, you’re bombarded with repeated prompts asking, “Are you sure you want to cancel?”
Eventually, you’re redirected to a page offering “2 more weeks free.”
Out of panic or confusion, you might click it, only to later discover—hidden in faint, almost invisible fine print—that selecting this option immediately charges you $28.

This isn’t just confusing—it feels calculated to mislead and trap customers. It’s a process built not on transparency but on exploiting users’ trust and making them second-guess their decisions

After some back and forth, PerfumesOnline has ultimately agreed to do the right thing and will issue a full refund, minus the shipping, once they receive the items I have returned.

I would also like to highlight the exceptional assistance I received from Andy, who has been my main point of contact throughout this process.

He was very understanding, professional, and cordial, which I truly appreciated.

Authentic samples, beautiful packaging, great customer support

I recently ordered from this store, and I am thoroughly impressed.

First off, the packaging was absolutely beautiful and clearly thoughtful.

The vials I received came with sturdy caps, ensuring the contents stayed secure, which is a small but important detail.

Most importantly, the samples are authentic.

Customer service was outstanding—quick to respond, cordial, understanding and made the entire process smooth and enjoyable.

Shipping, sadly, is not free (at least not to Canada), which obviously isn’t ideal, but they do offer discounts, discount coupons, deals, and you can gain points and VIP loyalty status, which come with their own great perks.


Additionally and something that is very important when it comes to transparency and gaining the trust of a customer is switching from USD to CAD which is seamless and easy to find and use.

Highly recommend!

Diluted fragrances

Very poor projection, sillage and does not last long.

Compared the ELDO Divin Enfant and Hermes Terre D’Hermes with the original bottles received from Etat Libre and Hermes directly and I am shook!

These are not the same! I don’t know how they do it- how they dilute these perfumes- but I am livid!

Responsive customer service, products do not seem authentic

They have awesome customer service- very responsive and cordial.

But sadly the items i received do not seem to be authentic- I ordered Dior Fahrenheit EDP 75ml and Moustache by Rochas and Pistacio by Demeter- the smells are rancid (very honey-ish, but not in a good way- more like cheap middle Eastern perfume) and do not last long so I am returning them.
The packaging and the bottle for Fahrenheit looks legitimate, even the batch codes- but the smell is nothing like the real deal.
I even contacted Dior and went to my local Dior-approved retailer to compare what I received with a certified, authentic fragrance and just as I had detected and suspected- it’s fake!




It’s a shame, I was convinced they were legit.

At least they responded right away and assured me about my refund.




They are still going to deduct $14 for my return- so that is money down the drain for an inconvenience …

I really did and do love their customer service, to quote Tyra: “I was rooting for you!” 😅 What a shame…

Beware of shipping costs!

It used to be a platform that offered the most affordable products- but sadly not anymore.

It still offers a variety of things one can find, buy- but shipping to Canada is oftentimes very, very limited

➕It is a reasonably convenient platform and whatever item CAN be- IS delivered to you in a reasonably timely manner

➕Customer service is exceptional and they do try to assist, help out, solve and resolve- should you encounter any issues

➕You do get fairly quickly reimbursed if something does not arrive or is damaged or not as described by the seller

➕Rating sellers and leaving reviews which are easily accessed and visible to everyone is another major plus

➖Shipping is often very unreasonably priced, and
➖ furthermore: some sellers use the way shipping is displayed on Ebay - that is - in a much smaller, much less noticeable, whiteish, even translucent colors - while the price of the actual item is in these attention- grabbing BLACK, BOLD and BIG fonts and colors

▶️This strategically and deliberately implemented ploy relies on the fact that one psychologically gravitates towards a low(er) price- and essentially ends up myopically focusing solely on the reduced/affordable flashy price

➖ Moreover, these absurdly high shipping fees which are deliberately designed to overcharge you, sometimes reach 5, 10, or even 20 times the cost of the item itself ❗️‼️

▶️Imagine paying hundreds of dollars (ie $200❗️‼️ in “shipping” for a product listed at just $20, that normally costs $70) -
this is a sadly common and this insidious, conniving little psychological tactic has been created and used to take advantage of the customer’s excitement over finding something that appears very affordable, whilst ignoring and being oblivious to these abhorrently, deviously stealthily “displayed” shipping (hidden, extra) charges‼️❗️

‼️❗️Again, it is misleading and quite frankly, evil - in addition to turning the initial appeal of a good deal into an unexpected and excessive overcharge, not only undermining any genuine savings, but leaving the customer utterly duped

➖And although, yes, one can report those who apply these misleading schemes , it seems like Ebay is aware of these cunningly deceptive practices - that are on the rise 📈 btw - at least on Ebay- and do not care- as long as people use and engage with their platform

➖ Furthermore, Google Search prioritizes eBay, prominently displaying its exceptionally low prices. This preference can mislead consumers into thinking they are finding the best deals, often overshadowing considerations like shipping costs or product quality.

▶️As a result, this algorithmic bias significantly influences purchasing behavior, directing buyers toward options that may not be in their best interest overall.


▶️This ultimately causes Ebay, at least in my eyes as a customer, to lose major respectability, reliability and trustworthiness

Cheaper than others, but sneaky membership “ DoorDash Pass” subscriptions

Ever rising prices, extra fees you are only confronted with once you pick out your restaurant, the food items- which are all listed without the later added taxes and these surprise extra fees and DashPass Membership SUBSCRIPTION that sneaks up on you- is why I am guving them only a one star, albeit a few positives, which I will list and address 👇-

as you can tell, I have such a strong dislike for such surreptitious, cunning, misleading and what seems and feels like deviously manipulative and deceptive practices with such passion, that I am willing to take the time of my day and write about it, in hopes of potentially warning others, and/or potentially and ideally making the company address and - one can hope 🤞- change these deceptive practices and regain the trust of their customers.

➕Yes, the choice of places and business is vast, amazing variety, and the restaurant ratings are displayed- those are major positives

➕A few times when my orders were mishandeled and delivered in a bizzarly altered shape/state - they did reimburse me once I contacted the online chat support

➕And I find that, at least in Canada, DoorDash is a bit cheaper than other similar platforms


BUT ‼️❗️😩 😖DoorDash Pass Membership showing up on my bank statement, yet again- is very frustrating.
➖ Promos, I feel, are just there to make the consumer engage with the platform in hopes of ordering something- not a great or frequent variety of promo deals and they are very limited and not applicable across the board
➖ Finding who to contact/call/email about weird charges is also challenging and not overtly accessible or discoverable- at least not customer support that does not relate solely on a specific food order

Amazon Prime Video 📺offers a fantastic selection of content, especially for indie, art-house, and European films 🎬and series—an area where it certainly stands out compared to other streaming platforms. However, the recent price hikes are excessive, and the constant additional charges for add-ons are becoming downright absurd.

▶️Another major concern is Amazon’s handling of temporary free subscriptions.

❗️‼️They make it deceptively easy to sign up but unnecessarily and cunningly difficult to locate, manage, or cancel these subscriptions.

❗️‼️Navigating their platform to even find your active subscriptions or ensure you’re unsubscribed is frustratingly complex and surreptitiously disorienting and these “free” trials too often slip by unnoticed until they hit your bank account.

▶️This approach feels sneaky, underhanded, and misleading—using tactics that seem almost designed to take advantage of customers’ forgetfulness.
Such practices aren’t in good faith and seriously need to be addressed!
It feels quite devious!
And I used to love and praise this platform, even to my students - and I teach cinema studies and all things film.

Still no resolution from this fraudulent company

❗️‼️BEWARE - FAKE PRODUCTS and HIDDEN, UNEXPECTED SHIPPING CHARGES❗️❗️


After an extensive exchange of emails, explanations, and the submission of receipts and photographs, I find myself dismayed to report that I have only received a mere, tiny fraction of the refund to which I am rightfully entitled.

If I didn’t have to keep these dreadful fragrances they sent me as proof of their ridiculous inauthenticity, I would have thrown them in the trash where they rightfully belong!

‼️This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare ‼️❗️

▶️My initial order consisted of perfumes that are evidently counterfeit, on top of being diluted.

▶️Moreover and in addition to this dupe and disappointment, I incurred unexpected shipping costs, which alone were totaling $70 - all which remain unadressed and unresolved

‼️❗️I am, however persistant and unwaveringly determined in my resolutuion and in my pursuit of justice regarding this matter ‼️❗️

▶️At this point, the responses from customer service have become repetitive and unhelpful, often implying that my complaint has been fully addressed, despite the lack of any meaningful resolution.

😖 It also appears that their replies are sometimes automated, lacking genuine engagement.

I am further frustrated by their absurd suggestion to consider their numerous glowing reviews - as if that should somehow amiorate my situation.

Also, these reviews seem incongruent with my experience and I questions their authenticity


▶️It is also crucial to note that there is a significant absence of legitimate positive reviews for what is clearly a scam operation.

Given the circumstances, I feel compelled to escalate this issue by contacting consumer protection agencies in Turkey, the EU, Canada, and Qatar.

They clearly underestimate my determination and the time and energy I am prepared to invest in securing a full refund and achieving justice.

They may believe they have made a fool out of me, but I am committed to pursuing this matter until it is resolved.

‼️❗️In the meantime- people beware, this company sells fake, inauthentic perfumes, charges a lot, and you are also facing surprise, very costly, shipping charges ‼️❗️

Vague, expensive, subscription fees, questionable results

Very expensive, vague information about my heritage (2 instead of 1 stars because it does get updated, more refined sometimes) and weird subscription fees to have access to my information.

I also feel like that prior to receiving my result, because I put up a bunch of family photos and talked about where we lived, what I already know about my ancestors, and putting my family photos vacationing in Croatia when I was a kid- that -surprise, surprise- my results were very soon linked to that part of the world- even though I am Serbian and it seems highly improbable that my ancestors were from Dalmatia.

I am not saying impossible, It just seems… fishy.

Mocking agents/employees, trapped in my contract

Where do I start?

I was trying to find out if I can upgrade to a more expensive 2 year contract and upgrade my phone.

After talking to numerous agents- 2 were awesome (one, I forget his name, I know he is from the Philippines- was such an awesome guy!)- the rest were rude, cold, condescending, I even felt ridiculed- and one literally answered, when I transferred to her, with , “ So, like, you want, like, a new phone?”

After what seemed like forever- was informed that I could- but I would still pay the penalty for the remained of the contract- even if I returned my current device in exchange for a new one and signing a new, more expensive contract.

Basically, I am trapped. So people, do not sign any contracts- it is ultimately so not worth it.

Receiven an email (again, had this mocking undertone), essentially confirming I cannot uprade my contract without paying this ridiculous penalty. Very punitive.

Their in-person staff are cordial and awesome, remember this one employee Milan @Boardwalk Bell Store in Waterloo, ON- but everything else is subpar.

Beware of the currency you are buying the item in!

I’ve been a loyal customer of Fragrancenet for quite some time, and there’s a lot to love about this company.

The fragrances can be incredibly affordable, with shipping often free (even internationally), and their products are always authentic.

I also appreciate the wide range of options in terms of quantity, as well as the availability of testers, which is perfect for us who do not particulary care for boxes and/or caps missing.

Their selection of fragrances is truly unmatched, shipping is fast and reliable, and their customer service has always been excellent.

However, I do have one major concern.

On my most recent order, I didn’t realize the prices were listed in U.S. Dollars, which, when converted to Canadian Dollars, resulted in a significantly higher final cost.

Unfortunately, when I reached out to customer service, I was essentially told, “it is what it is.”

On some fragrance websites, including Fragrancenet, the option to switch from USD to CAD is often hidden or difficult to locate.

This oversight left me feeling that I ended up paying more than necessary, especially when compared to Canadian-based retailers like perfumesonlineca other, lesser-known sites that don’t always appear in standard (Google) search results.

While I still appreciate Fragrancenet for their frequent deals, discounts, and impressive tester options, this last experience has made me more cautious.

I recommend double-checking the currency displayed before making a purchase to avoid any surprises. It’s a great company overall, but this particular issue left me a bit disappointed and slightly less confident in future purchases.

I just purchased some fragrances from some other online retailers- and realized that even if 37% discount is applied, this website still ends up being more expensive then some other well known and popular retailers.

When I asked on facebook if they do price matching, I was pretty abruptly told that “no” they do not do price matching.

My issue has not been resolved amazon 🇨🇦 + Amazon Prime Video: sneaky (free) subscription practices

Customer service has deteriorated so much; they promise to solve your issues- it never happens.
Or they just transfer you over to the next agent ad nauseum!

▶️Let me explain and give you some background:

A few months ago, when I logged into my Amazon account, I was asked to review some of my purchases.

For 2 items- I wrote reviews essentially saying that I personally did not like them- literally expecting nothing- I did not write these reviews asking or expecting a refund.

However, very quickly after my reviews, these 2 (different) companies offered me refunds and I accepted.

▶️When I tried to (re)claim these refunds- as Amazon credit nonetheless- the agents online, on the phone- would promise I would see these refunds in my account within 48h.

It does not happen! 😕

I contact them again, they escalate- but the issue never resolves and still remains to this day!

I have not given up, but the amount of energy and time it takes to talk to 1 agent, only to be transferred to the next one, to the next- until someone tells you that you will see your refund reflected in your account within the next 48h.


Rince and repeat.




I dread contacting them again!

Too expensive, lower quantity and quality

Used to provide groundbreaking, innovative services with fresh,unique shows like THE OA, Dark, Sense8- now it is a mere shell of itself puffed up with fluff; mediocre crap - and the prices keep going up, despite insidiously offering “variously priced options”

Too expensive, crappy unoriginal shows, C class movie catalogue, the frequency of new shows has decreased, the quality deteriorated, the prices have gone way up- Netflix should seriously consider new strategies!

I used to not be able to live without Netflix, now I rarely bother to log in.
The wave of “anti-woke” shows and stand up and weird quasi/pseudo archeology shows disguised as the legitimate scientific documentary inquiry has made the whole plaftform even less appealing!

What a disappointment!

Advertisements by creators despite premium membership, hateful, abusive content often not removed/monitored

The premium subscriptions are quite high, and it’s frustrating to still get advertisements from content creators marketed to you despite paying for the service.
It feels counterproductive to pay a premium only to encounter advertisements by content creators who are apparently “not paid enough and have to do it” disrupt the experience.
On the other hand, without the subscription- the ads and their frequency is unbearable!
Additionally, there are so many videos by the far right, fascists, hatful, violent, abusive content, especially in countries like Serbia and the balkans that obviously nobody monitors and does not care to make less accessible to minors.



This is definitely something that needs to be addressed!
