Instant response on issue of credit voucher for a new dishwasher

We have British Gas Homecare and our dishwasher finally failed so after being written off British Gas gave us a voucher for 30% of a like for like replacement. We chose to have a voucher for the agreed value to use in Curry's. We were advised that the voucher would be issued by Curry's and could take 48 hours or more to receive an email with the voucher. It arrived inside 10 minutes. We placed our order online and our new machine will arrive, be installed and the old one removed on Friday 10th October. Well impressed.

Carrie was extremely helpful and…

Carrie was extremely helpful and professional in dealing with my British Gas claim for a partial refund on our failed dishwasher. The like for like option was not our preference so Carrie explained in detail how we can get a credit voucher instead to be used against a dishwasher of our choice from Curry’s. Thank You Carrie much appreciated. Daniel

WE even got an Upgrade

Not only were Eventmasters very competitive in comparison to their competitors but they also managed to give us an upgrade in the last few days before our event. Their service was excellent as was that of Wimbledon Champions Lounge staff. Our only disappointment was the information from Wimbledon on the dress code for the lounge. Shirt Tie and Jacket with no sports wear was the requirement. Yet the guys on the table next to us were in polo shirts, shorts and smart trainers. They were clearly more comfortable than we were on one of the hottest days of the year.

The Full Monty

On certain holidays we like the full package, flights, hotels, transfers and the added benefit of avoiding long queues at the airport, then relax in an airport lounge to enjoy a glass or two of wine and some nice food before the flight. On the Beach offer all that service.

Dropped rating from 5 to 4.5, want to know why?

We recently reviewed OTB and rated a 5 for our trip to Dubai which we sadly had to cancel due to Covid. The package included Fast Track and free access to an airport lounge. WE rescheduled our Dubai trip to September and whilst we still get fast track they no longer offer the free airport lounge access. Very disappointing as we really enjoyed the chill in the lounge last summer

Competitve and with extras

Competitve and with extras
By comparing different dates we were able to reduce our holiday to Dubai saving hundreds of £ and we get fast track and airport lounge included in the deal. Result!!

More for your car

I initially got my car valued by the usual online and on TV major car buyers. I sold my car through Autotrader for £2,175 more in the space of 3 days. I paid for a "as long as it takes" advert which cost around £80. Well worth it. I was happy as was the buyer. Before you get any of the so called major purchases get Autotrader to value your car first then you wont look back.

Dubai 2022

I always believe there is room for improvement so I would never give a 5. I would rate the service as 9 of 10 though, which by net promoter standards means I would recommend On the Beach to anyone.
We have trawled every website going for our ideal trip to Dubai in May 20222 and struggled with every one of them. Hotels not in the location we wanted, flight times awful. prices excessive etc etc etc.
On the beach came up with lots of options of which 3 were an excellent fit for us. Thank you On the beach.

Review of Dyno-Rod

Shocked and Appalled at the service, attitude and aftercare of Dyno Plumbing Liverpool Branch

Dyno Rod Liverpool attended my home to repair a leak. It had been leaking through my hall ceiling for about 18 hours before they arrived. We protected the ground floor with a bucket and the cylinder cupboard with towels to minimise the damage the leak could cause. What followed was a catalogue of disasters
The cylinder apparently needed replacing.
The engineer supposedly emptied and isolated it.
Dyno Rod told us it would be a week to replace as it was bespoke. I challenged this but they would not budge. I have proof that the a cylinder of this capacity is available off the shelf.
The leak stopped and we assumed the engineer had emptied the cylinder.
We awoke the next morning to find that the leak had re-commenced and was now coming through the ceiling in several locations including a light fitting in the hallway. There was now standing water on our wooden floors.
Dyno Rod sent a second engineer who promptly discovered that the cylinder was 100% full, hence the re-commencement of the leak.
I assisted the second engineer to empty the cylinder utilising the tube and syphon method. When we had it sufficiently empty we got it out of the cylinder cupboard, down the stairs and out of the house. Not the best thing for me to do given I am 61 and have had a triple by-pass and an additional stent in my heart. This engineer asked when the new cylinder was coming. I said I don't know as I understand it is bespoke made to order. His response was "nonsense you can get this cylinder off the self"
At this point we now had no hot water or heating for the next 11 days. My partner had just come out of hospital after an intrusive procedure and was expected to bathe daily. We managed this by boiling large pans and carrying them upstairs again not ideal for me or my partner who is 67.
Finally the cylinder arrived was installed and everything was functioning normally.
Having tried to contact each other by phone I eventually got to speak to a Dyno Rod manager. He confirmed that all that was left to do was to resolve the damage. I outlined the extent. He stated that they would not use their own multiskilled operatives, they would put it through their insurers. Given it was a Friday the manager said it would likely be the following week before they hear back. I said that was fine and was content that they had appeared to acknowledge that they had a liability due to the initial failure to isolate and empty the cylinder.
Within the hour he rang me back to say they are not involving their insurers and that I should claim on my house insurance. I advised I would not be doing this and would take up the matter with British Gas Homecare (BGH) as my contract is with them, not with Dyno Rod. I have lodged an official complaint with BGH and await their proposal for resolution.
For the record the major cause of damage results from the failure to isolate the cylinder. I have no doubt it was probably emptied (which is why the leak appeared to stop) but by failing to isolate the cylinder it re-filled and the leak re-commenced throughout the night.
The second engineer was very helpful and competent.
The install team of two were also very helpful and competent.
I am retired now but my career spanned almost 40 years in construction. During that time I have been a Managing Director of several National Building contractors across the UK and employed many plumbing subcontractors.
I know what good customer service and aftercare looks like and the service from Dyno Rod looks nothing like that.

I thought my gift voucher had expired

We tried to book a show with a gift voucher from my son. It bounced back as expired. My partner suggested I contact ATG about closed theatres during the pandemic which coincided with the voucher validation dates. I could not get through via the phone but an email was responded too within 24 hours and my gift voucher extended to December 2022. Nice one ATG well impressed

Very Professional Geeks in my book.

Fast, efficient, competitive, friendly staff who go the extra mile. My first experience was for replacement glass. On the day of install I had some problems with our UPVC door locks which are the original doors when the property was built around 25 - 30 years ago. They provided me with a solution a competitive quote and a date for install in July 2020. First Class

I seen all the negative reports after…

I seen all the negative reports after this purchase and was worried. However with the exception of the time taken to deliver I have no issues at all with my purchase. It was £32 (30%)cheaper than Amazon. Whilst I could have had it delivered by Amazon within 24 hours I would rather have the £32. I would not hesitate to plan ahead and buy from Tecobuy again

Fast Reliable Competitive

I prepared a parcel, weighed it, gave Hermes the package value and address. I got a quote, dropped the parcel at my local collection point (2 minutes in the car). Two days later my sister had her birthday present. I sent all our Christmas gifts via the same way. I have had things go missing with other couriers but Hermes have so far proved to be very reliable.
