All round professional service

My first ever experience of dealing with this company. From the moment of ordering to delivery the process was professional. Communication was excellent throughout and my delivery was done on the stated day. The tracking was useful and the driver was courteous and carried and placed the 20 bags exactly where I wanted them. I am most impressed and I will definitely make another order.

Great first experience

This was the first time I had approached this company and I did so many partly because I had become disgruntled with the speed my photos had been developed by another company. The process of sending my films was efficient and I received an email confirming that they had been received and stating the expected turnaround time, a day longer than stated on their website. I received an email today to say my scans were ready, on the expected day. The transfer of the scans to my device was easy and I was very impressed with the quality of the developed images especially as two of the three films were taken using 20 year films including one taken with a 63 year old camera.

My VOIP issue was resolved within 24…

My VOIP issue was resolved within 24 hours of my conversation with Travis. He was very professional and patient when dealing with my query especially as I have a hearing loss which makes telephone conversations rather challenging for me and the other person.

One of my worst experiences with an internet service provider

We have been without full broadband since 09/12/24 following Storm Darragh. Since then we can get broadband only in an area about 15 feet from the router. Voneus described it as a major outage but to date have not identified the cause of the issue. I have checked the service status on a daily basis and today found another apology for the delay that also said that the next update would be on 08/01/25, nearly 5 weeks after the start of the degradation of our service. When we ring them we get very little information about resolution. I have formally complained to them but do not expect a response. We live in a house with very little mobile phone coverage which has had implications when trying to use mobile data in areas away from where the broadband penetrates.

Poor signal in my home

Poor signal in my home. Has a significant effect as most companies often require texted codes to login etc. People living in rural areas are discriminated against. Other than this I have no complaints.

I received the correct records quickly…

I received the correct records quickly after making the order. I ordered these records as they were available at a greatly discounted price. Both records played without issues. I was asked to write this review but didn’t straightaway as I had not then listened to them. I then received an email reminding me to write a review. Although I fully engage in writing reviews for developing companies, I was more than a little surprised to be approached by a long established company like HMV. Getting the reminder email felt like hectoring. People are busy and probably too busy writing reviews.

No problem with the supply of…

No problem with the supply of electricity. However I was very underwhelmed by the recent scheme to be rewarded for saving electricity with which I engaged. I think Scottish Power needs to consult the definition of reward. I would have had to do several decades of these saver hours to gain a £15 voucher. I tried to get a refund on some credit on my account but turns out that I misunderstood the way the billing works. I had a constructive Messenger conversation with an agent who patiently explained this to me.

Failed to action my cancellation request meaning my auto renewal payment was made. The only time that I contacted them in the five years I have been with them and they didn’t listen to what I was telling them.

Seamless way to sell photographic equipment

A seamless process and quick receipt of funds. Free sending of my equipment. I am a bit disappointed that my camera which had only been used about a dozen times and had been securely kept in a camera bag was valued as good not excellent as I thought. As I was in need of quick finance I did not query this. Additionally some other aspects were deemed of greater value than originally quoted so I ended up £9 short of the quote not £18. An easy way to recycle your photographic equipment

No website no refund no improvement in my hearing!

One of the worst companies I have dealt with. I bought a hearing aid on the strength of a Facebook ad and 2,000 positive reviews on the company website. From the outset I had difficulty with the aid as it hummed and whistled most of the time. It was suggested that I should allow three weeks for the device to be fully up and running but I contacted them within 10 days as I was naturally frustrated. Initially the response was helpful but soon turned sour when I began to talk about a refund. They disputed that I had grounds for a return and then sent a somewhat intimidating email laying out their hate speech policy i.e. how they would protect their brand against negative comments. They did not respond to my request for the returns address. After a month the hearing aid charger stopped working. I was able to obtain the returns address from Trustpilot and sent the whole kit back with a covering letter explaining the fault. I had the same response again, the hate speech policy but this time followed up by an email from their so called legal section that laid out the legal route of the dispute I had with them. I declined this as there could be fees I would have to pay but I challenged incorrect statements they had made about the case.
None of the emails were signed including that from the legal section. Their website has been removed meaning that their refunds policy is not available and it looks that they could be gearing up for a relaunch. They were formerly called HMB Hearing. Their business model seems to be to satisfy half their customers and be largely dismissive of the other half. Bearing in mind the make up of the population who need hearing aids it could be said this is a business model that knowingly preys on the elderly.

Very quick receipt of an excellent OS…

Very quick receipt of an excellent OS Pathfinder guide book. Free first class postage is a positive move when combined with the discounts applied to products. Also I received a free gift, a mini compass that I have tied to the zip mechanism of my camera bag. Very compact and useful.

Not as good an experience with this…

Not as good an experience with this company as previously enjoyed. They made the classic mistake of advertising products in a Black Friday sale that they didn’t have in stock. They more or less admitted this in an email I received about a week and a half after my purchase, telling me there would be a delay. In this email they generously offered me a discount on future purchases for a certain period as an acknowledgement of the delay. I received my items about three weeks after the purchase and about a week before the anticipated delivery time suggested by the update email.
