Dodgy service

Was charged more than 3 times the normal cost for a 'special order' key that turned out to be anything but, just a standard window key that didn't even need to be cut, which I was only made aware of after payment was taken. Emailing customer support was a waste of time since they don't respond when you reach out privately, as other reviewers have pointed out, and despite assurances given here. I'd given Timpson a lot of business over the years at a different location, for shoes & watches, so I'm glad that if it was my turn to be misled, it was over something so small. Lesson learned about this location though, Newcastle Eldon Sq, and about the company's overall lack of accountability to their customers when there's a problem.

Very good selection of products at competitive prices--better/cheaper than Amazon for the things I was looking for, actually. Responsive customer service as well. Glad I found them. Plan to shop here regularly.

Good customer service

Good customer service. There was a problem with my order (item arrived damaged) and it was replaced promptly. Had it not been, I likely would not have shopped with them again, but planning a second order now, and shifting to them for things (makeup basically) I usually get at the high street since price range is similar and it feels ok to give them future business given that they did the right thing.

Useless guarantee

UPDATE: Although quick to make contact after negative review, John Lewis got in touch...but only to repeat the same as below: a few pixels is not enough for them to consider replacing or repairing as their coverage doesn't go above the manufacturer's. Buyer beware as their replies here give the *illusion* that they will make things right, and that they acknowledge the oversight, but that's not really what happens after. // Useless guarantee - should have gone with Amazon instead. I bought a tablet via John Lewis, same price as Amazon, but opted for them instead because of what I thought was their house warranty and because I thought I'd support the local high street. A pixel has gone off on the tablet and when I try to book a repair, I'm told that it needs to be a whole 'cluster' of them before they'll consider repairing. Tablet is just 2 months old. Lesson learned as Amazon would have simply replaced it. Hate to say it, but they've lost all my business from this point on, appliances as well as small stuff like this. With price matching gone, customer service was the last thing standing, but if that's also subpar, they leave loyal customers with no alternative.

No buyer's protections at all

No buyer's protections at all. If seller sends you a bogus item instead of your purchase, which is what happened to me, your only recourse is to send it back with a tracked service at your own *additional* cost, for a partial reimbursement. Vinted's fine print makes this explicit, with no protections for you, as was just pointed out by their customer service team. Wish I had checked out feedback on social media sites before joining, although fortunately, only lost a small amount of money in the end. But definitely avoid. Surprising that it's that bad compared to other selling platforms and normal retailers.
**UPDATE**: contacted Barclays and they refunded the purchase IN FULL, including shipping, since Vinted's "Terms and Conditions" can't go above UK law (google Consumer Rights Act 2015). It was easy and quick so just a tip if you're here because Vinted ripped you off too!

Terrible experience. Avoid if you can.

Terrible experience. Did not disclose full charges upon purchasing service, which means now recipient has to pay extra to receive something sent as a gift--exactly the kind of thing that you usually avoid by turning to a professional courier rather than the regular Post Office. I had used Interparcel in the past but lesson learned, and will ensure that at least my division at work gives them no further business. No attempts to rectify the situation either when I rang their customer service, no option to try to pay any charges on my end now to at least avoid the problem this will cause for the receiving party before it happens. On the contrary, additional charges are likely, I'm told, if delivery is unsuccessful regardless of their oversight, should I wish to recover the item sent, so I will likely forfeit also the insurance I purchased with the service. Zero support. Better to deal directly with the companies they use instead which would have provided full information as I've just found out after inquiring directly with UPS, if there's no real added value to the 'service' Interparcel provides. UPDATE: Sigh. Note how tone-deaf Interparcel is in their reply that they are still referring to a 'customer' when item sent was a gift - not a corporate context! Their online platform does not bring up options to calculate taxes or fees, which I would have gladly paid. UPS has already explained they sold me the wrong service. But notice how uninterested they are in providing a solution: this is what you can expect if you have a problem with them too...

We do advise in our terms of use that any parcel leaving the UK is subject to such charges and we have no control over this. The receiver would need to pay these charges to receive their parcel. Unfortunately we cannot accept these charges on behalf of your customer.

Happy with my purchase

Happy with my purchase. Found the food items and accessories I purchased to be of very good quality and they were packaged effectively. Will look to shop here first when I'm again in the market for local gifts to give to friends and family from other parts of the world.

Better protection in transit needed

I really liked the candles which are different from what you would find on the high street, but the packaging was not great. The box whey came in was smooshed, with some of them spilling out inside the soft, non-protective mailer. It would have been nice to be able to store the candles in their original box rather than having to transfer them to something else. So, 3 stars is about right.
