17 days and still waiting for a response...

My first flight was delayed by ca. 90 mins, but we (myself and another individual taking the same connection) were assured by Flybe staff that the connecting flight would wait for us. On arrival we were escorted straight to the gate for the connection, the aircraft was sat there metres in front of us but apparently the pilot was not letting anyone else on.

Despite the fact that there were flights in the meantime we had to wait another 5 and a half hours to get one. I was given a measly £7.50 voucher which I noted was less than any main course meal available at the airport.

I missed the appointment that was the entire reason for my trip in the first place, day off work wasted, day's car hire wasted.

I emailed Flybe customer services 17 days ago and other than the automated email confirming they received my message I have had no response whatsoever.

Products fine. Packaging shamefully wasteful.

No problems with the products or delivery but the amount of packaging was obscene...stuff I could hold in one hand delivered in a box about the size of a double oven and stuffed with brown paper.

I was sorry to read that you were upset with the amount of packaging involved. The member of staff who packed your order was new and due to the fact you had ordered a light fitting, he wanted to pack your order well to make sure it arrived intact.

We have shown a copy of your feedback so that he can look at improving ways in which orders are packed.

Please note : We have a Eco Policy where we try to use no plastic and only recycled paper and packing boxes; we take packing and packaging issues very seriously.

5 years of good service with a few minor niggles

I have used AJ Bell Youinvest for ~5 years with very few problems. I find them good value and they provide some good content (videos, articles etc.) and some decent tools on their site.

The only few minor issues I've had are some shares I've wanted to invest in were not available at all and some of the more obscure companies could be bought/sold over the phone only (at internet dealing prices) and as other have commented occasionly have to send info to them in hard copy which seems strange.

Overall very satisfied.

Not for tyres and definitely not for MOT or mechanical work!

Gave them a second chance...I shouldn't have...

I used KwikFit a few years ago for a cheap MOT, the car failed on excessive play in one of the tracking rod bushings. They had a quote ready for the repair when I came to collect the car, I agreed to it but they had to order the part and booked me in for the following weekend. I dropped off my car the following weekend, they told me it would be ready and retested that afternoon so I walked off home. When they phone that afternoon they told me the part hadn't arrived and said they didnt know when it would. Rightly pi*sed off with this and being skeptical of these outfits I brought it to an indy who put it on a lift and we both went around the bushings with a pry bar. We came to one that KwikFit had marked with green paint, "a bit loose but nothing excessive...an advisory at worst...if it was my car I wouldn't be replacing it" he said. Got MOT there, one advisory only...slight play in bushing!

That was a while ago, recently they were cheap for tyres so though surely they cant mess that up. Tyres fitted fine, job done. A few weeks later tyre pressure light comes on. Pulled over, called a local mobile tyre dude. He re-inflated it trying to find the offending object but couldnt find anything. With a bit of soapy water we found air was leaking out at the rim/bead. he took the tyre off and could see the a lump of crud on the rim where it had leaked which he reckoned any good tyre fitter would have cleaned. Unfortunately tyre was destroyed (~£250 19" Michelin SS).

Will not be back, no matter how much cheaper their headline price is.

Good service

Mytyres were cheapest for the paticular tyre I wanted. Upon confirmation the delivery date I was given was disappointing...9 days after ordering. They actually arrived today though, 4 days after ordering which is pretty good, especially at this time of year. No complaints other than the delivery date issue.

Nice hotel, pity about the overcharging and subsequent service

Stayed at their hotel in Monchique, the hotel itself was nice, the food was fine but underwhelming considering it was twice the price of anything else in the area and the area is very nice.

My issue, and the reason for the two stars, was that they overcharged me and were exceptionally difficult to deal with when I challenged them on this. In the end (after approx. 2 months of trying to reason with MacDonald hotels) my credit card company have reversed the charge. I shan't be back to this or any other MacDonald hotel.

GoPro purchase from website

'B' grade GoPro is indistinguishable from a new one, it came with some accessories that I didn't expect to get, some unused (still had protective stickers on). Delivery was fairly quick (a lot less than what they quoted).

I was leaning towards some of the specialist online camera shops who were also selling pre-owned GoPros at a slightly higher price but I'm glad I didn't. No complaints whatsoever.

Roaming is extortionate

Roaming is extortionate. Finding contact details on their site is next to impossible. When I've been away I find it very difficult to access their website to see how extortionate they are. This is on a few different networks and from my phone and my laptop so I don't think it's on my end,

I.e. You don't have permission to access
website/anything part of it
on this server.

The app is crap

Overall it would be OK if you never left the EU I suppose.

Perfect fit blinds

5-10 working days turned out to be more like 20.

They didn't seem overly difficult to install but they came with no instructions whatsoever. I had a question on this which I was told on the phone to email to their address, my email wasn't responded to.

It took me a while to figure out why they look a bit wonky on the window, it's actually because the bottom of the blind isn't straight, they've looped it around the bar at the bottom and sown it but the looped but is measurably longer on one side.

Sim free phone purchase

"Order within xx:yy:zz" timer on their website was wrong, I ordered within the time specified but I didn't get my phone the next day, the timer was counting down to 9pm when apparently it should have been counting down to 8pm. Otherwise no problems, product arrived as described.

Avoid like the plague

I had an uneventful 2 day rental, nobody was at the cabin in the carpark or the desk in the airport terminal when I returned (even though it was around 10am on a Sunday) so I dropped my keys in the out of hours box. Later that day, I got an email stating there was a dent in the door and they had taken £640 from my card. They attached a couple of pictures of a tiny dent, I don't think it happened when I had the car but I sent the pictures to Dentmaster posing as a customer - they quoted £90 to repair. Weeks of emails and calls later and they are still refusing to give my money back.
