I returned to Waggel when I agreed to have a dog I hadn’t even met as her owner was terminal I came back because when my dog was ill they were so kind and fair and I wanted the same treatment for for her that they gave him

Best price around for petrol insurance. So far simple to set up. Luckily not had to claim yet so can't comment on the ease of claiming
Very disappointed service
I am extremely disappointed with Waggel. I submitted a claim for my dog, Greta, for a herniated disc (discovered on 18 August, after visits to two different vets and undergoing X-rays, etc.), only for it to be declined on the basis of a “pre-existing condition,” even though there were no symptoms before the policy started and the formal diagnosis came weeks later.
The claim process felt confusing and inflexible. Despite following the policy terms (including using the Waggel/Joii triage service as required) I was denied coverage. Communication was slow, and explanations were vague, with little regard for the veterinary evidence provided. For example, today they asked me to confirm the day I noticed the first symptoms; it was in June, but I cannot remember the exact day. However, I took Greta to the vet on 19 June, and the report clearly states that the symptoms started “a few days ago.”, so why do they not stick to what was recorded at that time?
Overall, I expected reliable coverage and clear support, but my experience has been frustrating and stressful. I cannot recommend Waggel based on this experience.
Where would we be without Waggel?
I don’t like to think what life would be like without Waggel. So good at settling our ongoing claims. Keeping our lovely wee dog healthy and comfortable despite his allergies. Thank you!

Waggel have paid my claim in full so I am very happy about that. There was a slight delay because the vets had emailed the bill rather than clicking on a link sent by Waggel. I found the best way to communicate was by phoning Waggel- that ironed out the hiccups and speeded things up. The Waggel team were always friendly and helpful.

1 Star Review – Avoid Waggel Like the Plague
We’ve been with Waggel for a year and even upgraded our policy last month.
Today, when our dog needed urgent help, I discovered just how useless this company really is.
Waggel won’t let you go directly to your vet - instead, you’re forced to go through their partner app, Joii, first. If you don’t, they threaten to fine you £50 for daring to get your pet real medical care without their permission.
So I did what they required: set up a brand-new account with Joii (a name that couldn’t be less appropriate - there was absolutely nothing joyous about the experience). After waiting 20 minutes online, finally got through to someone who kept me hanging another 9 minutes, and then they cut me off mid-consult - four minutes in, well before their supposed five-minute cut-off time.
To compound the situation, they lied and claimed I ended the chat myself. Minutes later, I received a pointless email about the dogs “treatment plan” from a vet who never actually helped.
We’ve cancelled the Waggel policy immediately. I refuse to pay for a service that lies, delays, and fines you for trying to care for your own pet.
If you love your animal and want genuine support when it matters, stay far away from Waggel and Joii.
These two combined are the definition of bureaucracy over compassion, money over service and pure frustration.

I Waggel such lovely advisors n so helpful .this my second year with them . However Waggel emailed to say as they have a high level of claims they are not able to be so prompt . Which I was surprised as submitted claims in previous with no delay . Although they have taken my contribution out direct debit . Hence 4 stars
