omega not worth the price
my $7k Seamaster Aqua Terra is back in service for the 3rd time in less than 4 years for a total of $1500. The first time it failed, i could see a loose screw through the clear back plate. when i got it back, it never felt quite right, was running fast, and the date would get stuck once in a while. so i sent it back a 2nd time. now it's failed again for a 3rd time, but it's 7 months beyond it's 2 year warranty so they are forcing me to pay for another full service.
Omega Service Experience
In November 2023, I sent two of my watches — a Planet Ocean and a vintage Omega Dynamic — for servicing. Both of these timepieces carry special meaning to me. They are not daily wearers, mostly living in a winder and only coming out for special occasions.
Unfortunately, since the service, both watches have stopped working — something that had never been an issue before.
Omega Dynamic: This was the first to stop. I sent it back to Southampton and, to Omega’s credit, it was re-serviced under warranty. So far, so good.
Planet Ocean: A few weeks ago, I noticed it wasn’t running past 9. On 4th September I reached out to Omega customer service to arrange a prepaid package for return. Today is 3rd October, and this still hasn’t been resolved.
I phoned customer service and was told to take the watch into a local boutique. I did exactly that, only to be told they didn’t have my records, and that I would need to go to the Royal Exchange instead — otherwise they would have to process it as a brand new request. This directly contradicted what I was advised over the phone, where I was assured that my records could be pulled up via the serial number.
This has been an awful, frustrating experience. I simply want to get my watch fixed — but instead I’ve been left running in circles.
For a brand like Omega, part of the Swatch group, this level of aftercare is very disappointing. Based on my experience (and what I’m reading in other reviews), it feels like customer service and the protection of the brand are not being given the attention they deserve.
I truly hope Omega takes a hard look at how their service operations are being run, because right now it feels like they don’t value their customers.
Ordered a new strap for my Seamaster…
Ordered a new strap for my Seamaster 7.5 weeks ago. I've been chasing the boutique I ordered from every week, and they in turn have been chasing Omega, with no luck. I've been told this sort of order should only take 2-3 weeks. The boutique is equally frustrated with Omega as they can't seem to get a straight answer on why it's taking so long.
More than 3 weeks for battery change
Had my Constellation serviced and a new battery last year. Did not wear it until about a year later, only to find that the battery had run out. Went to the shop to have a new battery. They wanted to tell me this would cost over 200 Euro. I was puzzled by this price. When questioned they said that was the price for the battery and a warranty for one year. I just wanted a battery, hoping I would not want a warranty for this. The new price was 60 Euro. 3 weeks later and the watch has still not been returned to the shop. If I need a new battery every year and being without a watch for a month, I think I shall stick to my self-winding watches. I don't need to mention brand names.
Abysmal service – Omega doesn't care about its heritage or customers
I am the owner of an ultra-rare 1968 Omega Speedmaster Professional "Ultraman". My watch is in excellent condition, a fact confirmed by the Omega-certified watchmaker who serviced it.
Since the "Extract of The Archives" service is now permanently gone, I reached out to Omega hoping for a simple, even informal, confirmation of authenticity. I provided them with everything they could possibly need: extensive details, photos of the case, dial, and even a clear picture of the serial number on the movement itself.
Omega's response was to do absolutely nothing. It was clear they didn't even look at the information I sent. Instead, I received a useless, generic email telling me to... have the serial number checked by an Omega-authorized watchmaker. The very thing I had already sent them photographic proof of.
This level of customer service is appalling. I will never buy another Omega product again.

Bought a new watch and had a lovely experience with knowledgeable staff who were very attentive. In particular Amy.
Great products
Great staff
Great knowledge
Services disaster
I have 3 omegas. I have one being serviced and was sent to Switzerland. 5 months later it’s come back and they ruined the official omega strap - and photos prove it was in good condition when they received it. They have finally accepted fault and saying will take 3 more months to replace it.. won’t be buying another and likely sell mine. Ruined the brand.
Made the decision to buy very easy
We dealt with Natalie and the buying process we found to be absolutely first class.
She is very knowledgeable about the product not at all pushy and very pleasant to deal with.
We will now test the after sales service as we need to reduce the size of the bracelet on the watch so my daughter can wear it.
Bad experience with Omega Customer Service
I asked Omega Watches for the date of manufacture of my watch. This is for a watch made in 2022. Omega s response was that it is not available because Omega works to enhance an Extract from Archive service. I do not need an Extract from Archive. I need the year and the month of production. Totally disappointing. I will of course not buy Omega anymore

Dear Mr Anghel,
We acknowledge receipt of your email and would like to thank you for your confidence in our brand.
We have created a special service for those who want to know more about the manufacturing history of their OMEGA watch. The OMEGA Extract from the Archives does not constitute a Certificate of Authenticity and does not guarantee the authenticity of a watch or its components. It contains detailed information from our internal documentation indicating the conditions under which your watch left our factory in Bienne, as well as its exact date of manufacture.
Unfortunately, we must inform you that this service is temporarily unavailable.
We are in the process of enhancing our Exctract from the Archives offer to ensure that it aligns with the current needs of our clients, all while preserving the timeless values and traditions that define our business
WARNING when buying Omega jewellery
If you are thinking of purchasing an omega jewellery product a word of WARNING!
Ask for a magnifying glass when purchasing to look for minor scratches that can’t be seen by the naked eye.
I recently purchased a bracelet and needed to swap it for the next size. They took out a magnifying glass and said there was a minor scratch that was probably there when I purchased 🤷♀️
Also they put it in the wrong colour box and will accuse you of switching boxes or being dishonest.
Basically wash their hands if you once you’ve made a purchase.
Omega Boutique st Ann…
I too visited the Omega Boutique Saint Ann Street Manchester just to view and try various watches. I was very warmly welcomed and taken care of by Savas. Even though I wasnt intending to buy that day I couldnt have been treated better if I had intended to purchase the most expensive watch in the shop! 5 star treatment. I didnt buy on this occasion but I am still thinking about it. If I decide to buy I will not hesitate to return this store to make my purchase.
Fantastic experience from start to…
Fantastic experience from start to finish from the guys at Omega in the Bullring, Birmingham. Particularly Mohammed. Sourced watches from elsewhere, as they were not in stock. Great communication, and made to feel very special when we made it to store where we were looked after by Natalie.
A complete contrast to the very casual treatment we received in the metro centre branch
Would not hesitate in recommending Omega and its team from the Bullring
Disappointed and Done – A Premium Brand That Behaves Like a Budget One
After my Omega watch bracelet broke three times in just four years, I sincerely asked Omega for an extended guarantee—given the obvious quality issues—and some form of goodwill compensation of their choice. Not because I expect gifts, but because I’ve been without my timepiece for months due to repeated failures. Their response?
“Dear Mr. Chris
we are sorry to hear that you are not fully satisfied with the service provided.
As far as the handling of your watch, the necessary services have been carried out under warranty: the exchange of the full clasp the first time and the adjustment of some screws during the second one. No specific compensation or communicaton is needed from our side, according to our warranty service policies; for this reason we didn’t provide any further detail or note to the official dealer you referred to.
Please, let us know if you would like any further information.
Kind regards,
Your OMEGA Team”
This is how easily you lose a loyal customer. Not because of the broken watch—but because of the broken attitude.
No recognition of the inconvenience. No attempt at retention. No sense of ownership or accountability. Apparently, “policy” is a shield to hide behind, not a starting point for customer care.
I’ve now listed the watch on Chrono24, and I will never return to Omega again. A brand built over decades, eroded in one short email.
All the Swiss watch brands became too…
All the Swiss watch brands became too greedy. You pay lot of money their watches not functional, they don’t care after sale . No communication no service warranty if being lucky take half year to repair your watch
Killing innocent animals for the straps…
Killing innocent animals for the straps of their stupid watches!!
Omega Seamaster Pro 300m sent to Omega…
Omega Seamaster Pro 300m sent to Omega for “Full Service” at £608. 3 months later the watch arrives back at the AD. Super excited to open the box and….watch bracelet not refinished, not even the clasp. Omega claim this is due to the bracelet being too old and offered a replacement for £700! Any independent service centre would have refinished the entire watch. So disappointed, spoke to Omega and just like speaking to a bland corporate machine. No longer the company it was. Don’t go for an Omega service, they will just try to sell you parts. Go to an independent service centre. So disappointed in the whole experience.
The Omega Boutique Manchester
I visited the Omega Boutique, St Anne Street, Manchester to view a few watch options “in the light of day” so to speak, but not with the definite intention to buy on the day. What brilliant service I received from walking through the door. The staff were welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, informed and nothing was of any trouble to them. There was no pressure to buy any of the watches that I viewed (or any other) but rather was advised to return to the shop as many times as I needed, to ask questions or view any model, before making a final decision. At no time did I feel rushed whilst I deliberated and was even offered refreshments whilst I did so. Each of the watches that I viewed was stunning and this changed my mind about buying that day. I left the Boutique after about an hour to consider the options, returning after around 20 minutes where I then spent over another hour debating my final two options and completing my purchase of a Speedmaster Moonwatch. I left the shop a happy customer along with an invite to their up coming promotional event and also an invitation to call into the shop anytime I was passing, if only for a chat.
The experience I had in the St Anne Street Boutique was outstanding and I would like to thank all of the Manchester team for providing that, as their customer service was second to none. I’ve not had customer service as good as that in many a long year.
Fantastic service provided by the team…
Fantastic service provided by the team at Omega Boutique St Ann’s Square Manchester. Product knowledge was superb and Kit made it very easy for me to make my decision. Loving my new 007 Special Edition Seamaster 👍
Omega Bull Ring Birmingham…
Omega Bull Ring Birmingham - We can't thank Natalie Bond enough for the level of service provided when we visited to take a watch for a service. An hour later we had purchased a new watch! Natalie provides a very personal service , shows interest in your watch collection, and has lots of knowledge about the Omega collections. She has great customer service skills without any sales pressure to purchase. We have returned to purchase a strap and we received the same level of service. A great credit to the store. Thank you Natalie, we will be back!
Awful customer service, never using again
I have quite a large watch collection and one of my favourite pieces was an Omega Seamaster (far from my most expensive or rare but aesthetically pleasing). Sadly, after the second service Omega performed on this *DIVING* watch it leaked during my first subsequent scuba dive. Omega blamed me, saying I had not used the helium release valve correctly, which is utter nonsense, I didn't use said valve as I was not diving even vaguely deep enough to require it. The watch had survived years of diving without issue until this point. After complaining repeatedly, Omega/Swatch magnanimously offered a small discount from the repair costs! So that watch is now unused, broken, at the back of a drawer and I will never buy one of their products again.
