Possibly the worst CS experience
Possibly the worst, most unpleasant and arrogant customer service I have had the misfortune to get in contact with. The app itself is not amazing, with a lot of inconvenient systems that make it complicated to use. The renewal issues you will read in other reviews are completely true, Freeletics renews your subscription behind your back and their CS is clearly trained to not give you any refund.
Fragulent auto renewal practices
Fragulent auto renewal practices. Do yourself a favour and look elswhere.

If I could give zero stars I would.Auto-renewal scam – no warning, no refund
If I could give zero stars I would.
I paid for a year of Freeletics, used it for about six months, and then stopped. I haven’t touched the app in a long time, yet they automatically renewed my subscription for €79.99 without any warning.
The moment I noticed, I cancelled and contacted support. They can clearly see from my account history that I haven’t used the app for months, yet they hide behind a clause on their website saying “renewals are non-refundable.” That’s just a get-out policy they’ve invented, which leaves customers trapped.
I’ve opened a ticket, sent multiple emails (from the correct account address), and so far I’ve had no meaningful reply. Based on the volume of similar complaints on here, this looks like a deliberate business model: renew without warning, refuse refunds, and drag out support until people give up.
Freeletics may have a decent app, but this kind of predatory subscription practice is unacceptable. Be warned: once you give them your card details, you may never see your money again.
Works best for me
Three times a week consistently, so I guess I like the app. Have done Crossfit for about 6 years. Did Freeletics before that and got a bit bored. Picked it up again and just stay fit with Freeletics now. Lately finished the Running 14 weeks workout and just love the progression I made.
Got Freeletics part of my Revolut…
Got Freeletics part of my Revolut subscription and then when trying to access it for the first time and open an account it says "Revoked code" - then I speak to Revolut and they send me to contact Freeletics and the Freeletics team is not really the most helpful customer service I dealt with saying that:
"hank you for your message.
This happens when you are no longer eligible for this benefit and this action cannot be reverted.
If you believe this is a mistake because you are eligible via your current Revolut plan, I invite you to contact Revolut directly in order to request a new valid code. Please make sure to communicate them your revoked code and that you are eligible again. They will check your eligibility and should after that give you your new code."
Made my first impression with the "quality" of customer service here .
Thanks but no thanks
Avoid
The app doesn't have many workouts I could use as a larger person. It has now been renewed without sending me any renewal reminders. Despite contacting support within minutes of receiving the confirmation of renewal, they refused the refund.
Do not sign up or provide this company…
Do not sign up or provide this company with your credit card information. The service is unhelpful. I received an email stating that my subscription had been automatically renewed. I immediately sent an email with a screenshot of the confirmation email I received months earlier, showing that I had actually canceled it. However, they "checked their logs" and could not find it, and they refused to respond to further emails regarding the matter.
Also, they do not send out an email reminder before renewing. It is a company that will speculate in you forgetting the renewal. Such a shame. I tried the app, and it was just not useful for me at the moment, but I could have returned as a customer sometime in the future. No way that will happen now.
Disappointed
“Disappointed I was charged £94.99 for an auto-renewal I didn’t expect and can’t use due to a medical condition. Contacted support immediately but was refused a refund. They asked me to get a doctors certificate and in the UK it’s near impossible to find one to certify a medical condition for a subscription. It was a decent app for workout but the subscription renewals are a nightmare. No intimation about renewals. If you forget, get ready to lose money.
Paid subscription service / Scam
Don’t pay for the subscription to this service. They make it near impossible to cancel and won’t send you any reminders on renewals even when they can clearly see the app isn’t used.
Freeletics has been great help for me…
Freeletics has been great help for me to keep the healthy lifestyle consistent. The regular updates to the app and additions of equipment option has great way to expand the fitness goals.
Good workouts. Missing leg workouts using gym equipment
Good workouts which challenges you. Definitely get results and I’ve used it for 5 yr and one thing it missing is providing leg training options using gym equipments. It combines leg workouts with only bodyweight and composite exercises.
Best Shape Of My Life
I’m in the best shape of my life and it’s all thanks to this app. I really love how you can input all the equipment you have to workout with or just tell the app you want to focus only on body weight. There’s something for everyone here. From beginner to intermediate to advanced. I’ve had such great success I bought a lifetime membership. I recommend it to everyone who asks me who I stay in shape. If you’re serious about exercising regularly this is the app for you!
Very well thought through app
Very well thought through app, expanding their training options as well, new journeys and new equipment can be added giving even more flexibility to how you can train. Love it!
🛑 My Experience with Freeletics
🛑 My Experience with Freeletics – A Warning to Others 🛑
I feel it’s important to share my experience with Freeletics to help others make an informed decision before spending money with them.
Earlier this year, I encountered a serious issue with my subscription. I reached out to Freeletics with what I believed was a fair and reasonable request. Unfortunately, their response was dismissive, unhelpful, and showed zero willingness to resolve the issue – despite multiple attempts to engage them in good faith.
Worse still, when I followed up to challenge their decision, I received a message saying they will not respond to any further emails on this subject. In other words, they’ve chosen to ignore the problem entirely rather than work toward a resolution.
In my view, this kind of customer service is unacceptable – especially from a company that promotes values like support, growth, and accountability. Based on my experience, I believe their business practices are dishonest and lack transparency.
I’m sharing this publicly not out of spite, but because I believe potential customers deserve to know how the company operates after they’ve taken your money. I will continue to share my story until Freeletics takes responsibility for their actions.
If you’ve had similar experiences, I’d be interested to hear from you.
Be Aware of the Auto Renewal
I have been using Freeletics for a year now, and I've enjoyed the app; it has certainly helped me. However, what I have not appreciated is the shady business practice of the subscription auto-renewal.
In the UK, the Digital Markets Act ensures that businesses (including apps) must alert you when your subscription is due for renewal, giving you the opportunity to cancel.
Freeletics did not do this via the app or by email. In fact, I had no prior communication about this until they deducted the year’s fee from my account all at once.
I have tried to contact support (via the only option -email), but they have stated that they can't refund me. Well, I am sorry, but you should, as it is the law here in the UK. If you're looking for an app to help you get into fitness, then it's a good choice. But be very wary of the auto-renewal and their customer service.
Double Charged & No Refund – Avoid This Company!**
⚠️ **Double Charged & No Refund – Avoid This Company!**
**Rating:** ★☆☆☆☆ (1 Star)
**Review:**
I am writing this review to warn others about Freeletics' **unethical billing practices** and **terrible customer service**. Here’s what happened:
1. **Double Billing Scam:**
- On **June 9, 2024**, I was charged **959 TRY** for a 1-year subscription.
- On **June 16, 2024**, Freeletics **charged me again (1099 TRY)** for the **exact same subscription period** (June 2025–June 2026).
- Attached screenshots prove this is a **systematic error** (or intentional fraud).
2. **Customer Service Refusal:**
- Freeletics repeatedly claimed *"only Apple can help"*, which is **a lie**.
- App Store Policy 3.8.6 clearly states **developers must handle refunds for unused services**.
- They ignored my emails with legal warnings (EU/Turkish consumer laws).
3. **No Resolution:**
- After 10+ emails, they still refuse to refund the duplicate charge (**Transaction ID: MX9Q06L3GQ**).
- Now I’m forced to file:
- A **bank chargeback**
- Complaints to **European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net)** and **Turkish Ministry of Trade**
**DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!** They:
✓ **Ignore consumer rights**
✓ **Blame Apple to avoid responsibility**
✓ **Profit from billing "errors"**
**Update (XX/XX/2024):** Freeletics still hasn’t resolved this issue.
commercial malpractice and illegal activities
I placed two confirmed and paid orders during Freeletics' June 2025 liquidation sale. The orders were accepted, charged, and then cancelled the next day, supposedly due to a “pricing error.”
However, the discount was part of a clear and public liquidation strategy 60% two weeks earlier, then 80%. Right after cancelling my order, Freeletics relisted the same product at a higher price.
This is not a pricing error, it’s a commercial decision made at the customer’s expense. It goes against their own Terms & Conditions, which state that a confirmed order forms a contract.
Since then, customer support has gone silent, and I've discovered other customers who experienced the exact same treatment.
Freeletics is no longer a trustworthy company. I strongly advise against doig any business with them.
Formal complaints have been filed with the EU and German authorities
Freeletics the habit builder
I really like the Freeletics Coach and it's training plans. Very consistent, very well built up training sessions! You can customise on the run if you will. I really helps me to stay consistent and built the workout habit that I lost for 1-2 years! I can highly recommend it to everybody!
Fraudulent practices
Purchased a 1y membership, confirmation state a start and end date of my plan, but I stopped using it after 2 months because it wasn’t for me. 1y later they used my saved card to purchase another year of their membership, no prior notification or email. I contacted them directly and they refused to refund.
