Infinity incompetent
In the 7 years I've lived in this property and had the misfortune of PHJones being my maintainance company through the council, I have only met one engineer who is actually any good. The rest of them are useless, half doing a job so they can get their day finished early, but actually the issue returns within days if not hours. I have in recent years had an engineer park his van up the road, and push a card through my door saying I didn't answer, when I looked on cctv he hadn't even knocked! I rang them as this meant I was left with no hot water or heating in the middle of winter on a friday afternoon, so I rang and explained and they were not interested that their employee hadn't even attempted to do the job, refused to send him back and simply made another appointment, with no apology or explanation. They have no respect for council tenants and think we have all the time in the world to wait around for them to then not complete the job.
Last week I had 2 engineers sent to fix a leaky radiator, after fiddling with it briefly I was told "that should be okay now", well guess what.. it's leaking worse than it was before the muppet show came and messed with it.
In conclusion I can say with certainty that PHJones are the worst company I have ever had to deal with, and no matter how polite and personable the engineers are, they ruin that with their recurring incompetence and the company's overall inability to be professional, especially when dealing with vulnerable people.

Customer service is bad, wouldn't tell me a rough time of arrival, I said ok, but will it be before 5pm, and he said that it could be in night. My kids go to bed after 7pm, and I don't want a random person in their bedroom, because the boiler is located there .
Delighted with service and outcome
During a routine service by our local authority landlord, the engineers condemned our boiler and immediately disconnected it. As a result we had no heating or hot running water. After 4 weeks of calls and various visits it was agreed that, in order to hurry along the process, the work would be subbed out to PH Jones.
We were dubious about this as we'd never heard of the company and obviously checked the reviews but due to husbands disability we needed heating on due to change in weather.
We agreed on a date of 1st October for the work to be done.
Around 0730 engineers arrived and immediately checked over house and requirements (as only the survey of works had been done by Council and they were working to their instructions). After a couple more cupboards were emptied, the work began.
My housebound husband was in house all day and works were methodically done room by room. The two engineers were courteous, professional and kept him informed of their progress. They done all they could to minimise damage to laminate flooring (we had been advised initially that at least 25% of laminate would be lifted and not reinstated).
The works were completed by 6pm and all areas thoroughly tested and waste cleared/removed on departure.
24hours later we are enjoying having heating and hot running water after 5 long weeks without. As a result we highly recommend this company for any heating works.
Boiler Replacement
I recently had my boiler replaced by British Gas in Cardiff, and they sent Shaun Lee from PH Jones to do the job. He was absolutely brilliant! Despite some initial challenges caused by my previous boiler being installed incorrectly, Shaun handled everything with great care and attention to detail. He had to move pipes, drill, go under the floorboards, and even work up on the roof — but he tackled it all with professionalism and precision.
He worked long hours (until 6.30-7pm) over two days to make sure everything was sorted, leaving the place spotless, and ensuring we had heating and hot water before he left. I was especially impressed knowing he had to travel quite a distance from outside Swansea each day, yet his attitude was always positive and polite.
Shaun is a hardworking, trustworthy engineer, and I truly hope he goes far in his career — he definitely deserves it! Thank you!

Inhumane
I phoned ph jones to seek help as I don’t have any heating or hot water and was told ph jones doesn’t deal with this, so I phoned my housing association out of hours and they said they will contact an engineer, I received a phone call from the same woman 4 hours later from ph jones who said we can’t get a hold of the engineer, it wont be till tomorrow morning, I was in tears and had to phone for help regarding my mental health because of this

I contacted PH Jones online to reschedule my appointment as the phone lines were busy. The process was straightforward, and Soban was very patient and helpful throughout. I was quickly given a new appointment for the following week when I was available. Overall, it was a good experience, and I’ll definitely use the online web chat support again.
Brighton&Hove Council property
Brighton&Hove Council property; Harry came to do a gas maintenance check which found a leak, but within spec, he called up to check what to do and the women in the office with apparently 'more than 30 year experience' knee-jerk response was 'shut it all down' which would have left a 84 year old with no hot water, no cooker, nothing! Lucky I was here as I queried this. Harry was good enough to check and Damon in the office said check and find the fault, which he did, which was a leak on the gas stove, which he isolated, and we have a new cooker on the way, no loss of hot water, no shut down. Thank you Harry, shame about the women in the office with '30 years experience'. Do our reviews make a difference?
Cowboys
Onwards sent an engineer to do a gas service. The guy that turned up was Italian in Liverpool area. Beware of him! he was in my house from 10.20 till 10.29 pretending to do a check on the gas. With being tired afterwards I realized he pretended to do check the gas. Cowboys! Really dangerous doing this what he did a horrible engineer. When you call up the women are useless on the phone & usually cut you off. The guys at customer service when you call up our more helpful I find.
