Run away...Fast!

Do not join this scam agency.
Those people have a chip on their shoulder and it's evident from all their responses as they try to defend their name.
They request a refundable deposit which doesn't get refunded (they will say they have evidence of this on their website... anyone can create a few screenshot images of transactions to post on a website. I could do that with my grocery transactions...be smart.)
These people will influence you, take a few airbrushes photos of you and ask you to pay large sums of money because that's the best way you'll progress as a model with them even though work is not assured. Please don't bother responding to this because I see you.
You tell models you'll take videos of them and instead just take them around the block of your building on a nice sunny day to shove a camera in their face and tell them to pose like puppets while you use snapchat filters on their faces in your instagram posts. Like I said, don't even respond to this because I know you guys and see you all the time.
Your instagram page is worse than a child's and your website is just full of images off the net
You have no shame, no decency and no transparency between you and your clients and I honestly, it's nothing short of embarrassing and I feel sorry for all the people who have faced issues with this 'business' and not to even talk of their claim of being 'government regulated' never have I seen a modelling agency harping on about how regulated they are if not to draw attention away from themselves.

Be careful with parting with money before asking too many questions

I arrived at the agency for a shoot/interview assessment type appointment. They sent out a confirmation in a lengthy email discussing what the process will be - I read the e-mail thoroughly and it mentions a deposit that is taken, known as the refundable security deposit (RSD) See quote from the email:

"The deposit starts from just a hundred Pounds [depending on what model board you are eligible for if accepted]. You will easily make it back from your first job and is included in the legally binding model contract you will be offered upon acceptance onto the model books. If, of course, you do not pass the interview, nothing will be taken."

As you can see, the last line lead me to believe that this will be discussed AFTER finding out the outcome of the interview.

I went in for my assessment, they took a few pictures of me, I then waited for a bit before I was seen by another gentleman, who said that the interview would be done by someone else if I'm happy to pay the deposit now.

I wasn't comfortable paying a deposit before doing an interview, and he said that it would be returned the same day if I wasn't accepted, which didn't make sense to me at all - the email doesn't say anything about that

When I told him that I wasn't comfortable doing that he then said "then I am not allowed to interview you"

??????

So I left without seeing or taking any of the pictures (also doesn't make sense if they offer the pictures for free without passing the interview, why would you want to take a deposit just to return it, and what difference does it make giving me the pictures whether I pay a refundable deposit or not either way you are saying I'd get it back)

Something about it just didn't seem right, and beyond the money, it didn't feel very transparent, especially when the e-mail itself was very detailed

I mentioned it to him as I was leaving just as feedback, and he said that they don't put everything in the emails because most people don't read everything

??? I beg your pardon? What kind of answer is that?

LOL I had to laugh to myself - in the same email they send out they talk about the importance of always reading emails - and now he's saying they didn't put it in because people don't read them? In the same "pre interview" (if I can call it that) he asked me if I read the email - and asked if I was sure...... doesn't make sense to me and it didn't smell right

This isn't to say they are a fake agency or not I have no idea, I don't know the experiences that other people have had, but I'd just like to heed a warning so you know beforehand what to expect, as I felt a little bit misled

Hello Kenny,

Thank you for your message. Yes, we do require a refundable deposit starting from £100 for models we accept.

We ask for this deposit before the interview to ensure that both our time and the model’s are respected and well spent.

Why do we take this deposit?

1. Entering the industry isn’t free, and before models start earning, we invest between £2,000 and £3,000 into their development.

2. Models who complete their 12-month contract will receive a full deposit refund, as this period allows us to fully assess their progress.

3. Models typically require a high-quality, airbrushed portfolio, which we arrange in Milan, Italy, along with specialized training and a video reel.

4. We cover these expenses for accepted models. While no government agency offers such support, aspiring models are free to explore other options if they prefer.

We also invite you to visit our Instagram page to see some of the fantastic brands we collaborate with.

Best regards,
EMM Management

Hello my name is Nicole

Hello my name is Nicole, Had an interesting experience, they took my picture and then ask me some questions, then I did a practice walk from them and I got except for their modelling company, but what I will say is that they are not as legit, I feel like they ask a lot of money in advance and any company should not do that if they’re not trying to scam you, and they still did not give me the photos that they promote in they’re advertisements. So overall it was interesting, hope this helps <3

My friend had a lovely experience at Eclipse! The photographer was friendly, made her feel comfortable, and guided her through every step of the process. Eclipse was transparent about the deposit requirement to move forward, which initially raised some concerns for us since it’s uncommon for models to pay when partnering with an agency, even if it’s government-regulated. However, we were reassured by their clear communication and professionalism. She’s now looking forward to receiving the images!

Reaching for the stars

I was a bit worried about finding the location but staff were on hand to assist me via phone. They even welcomed me as I approached and as I entered I was warmly greeted. My photographer was a treasure and made me feel at ease straight away. I was then interviewed and we spoke openly and honestly about what was required. The whole experience boosted my confidence and as an older person made my day and strengthened my resolve to go further down this path

immediately when i arrived they asked me to sign the contract and pay the £100 (+) deposit, this was before i even spoke to the person who was going to make the decision if i got in or not, or get to find out about the type of work they are offering etc. - i thought this was a bit of a red flag so i decided not to sign the contract today - however i did have a free shoot

in terms of the shoot itself, it was well done and the images are free - so if you’re wanting some free good quality images u recommend - although, they have asked me to write this review so that i am able to receive my images, so i don’t know how prompt this process actually is and haven’t yet received them.

Hello,

Thank you for your post—we appreciate your honesty.

However, there are a few details that were left out:

1. Yes, we did request a refundable deposit of £100 before proceeding. This is because we invest up to £3,000 in the models we work with, and we want to ensure that neither your time nor ours is wasted.

2. You also didn’t mention that any amount paid to us is fully refunded at the end of the contract.

3. Yes, we asked for a review in exchange for the pictures we took. This is because producing the images comes at a cost, and we believe it’s only fair to ask for a review in return for the photos which are free. Its perfectly normal for a company to ask for a review based on your experience with them. We also give you the pictures free at no extra cost.

Thank you,
EMM Management
