The password manager keeps changing the…
The password manager keeps changing the keyboard shortcut settings in my browser. It is extremely annoying.
5 stars because it's better
I have been using it for years now! Everything that a password manager needs, plus additional useful stuff like notes, watchguard, SSH keys, and more.
Would like to see more of those "nice-to-haves" and maybe more integrations with services like Fastmail and privacy.
Also, it lacks the option to add coupons to a subscription that's currently active.
But 5 stars because it's better, more useful, and more affordable.
No response from support yet again
I wish this is the first time I've had this problem. However, unfortunately this is not the first time I've had this problem where eye contact support. They don't do anything and then they completely ghost me when I call them out on the fact that they're not actually answering their support ticket other than with an automated response that I could have found on their website. That didn't even address the problem had they bothered to read the email originally sent to them. They would have known this information but they didn't bother. I wish this the first time I've had the problem where support ghosts me. However, unfortunately this isn't. I wish this is the first time I've had a problem where I've had to contact support. However, that seems to be an ongoing problem. Not that the support actually does anything to begin with. One password has got to have the worst support I've ever seen. Perhaps if they spent a little more effort on support teams and a little less money on partnerships, maybe they have a better app
They do what they say.
They do what they say.
They offer a good variety of features and their customer support is quite responsive.
I've been using them for years and always works fine.
They have multiple platform and multi browser support which is nice as well.
It is not super cheap, but its something that is 100% nowadays.
The only problem that they have are dates, sometimes they force the US date format (that only in the US is used) and some forms are screwed because of this, and there is no way to change it.
Great customer service.
I had a terrible billing experience thanks to Apple and mailed 1Password to complain and they (Lonas @ 1password) handled it extremely well. Been using them for 9 years and definitely better than the other products I checked out.
NOT WORKING FOR 8 MONTHS
8 months, EIGHT, key feature of a password manager to auto-fill passwords, keeps not working on Android. Reported endless number of times, 1password still doesn't give a heck about it.
Subscription cancelled, good bye, you were a good password manager for 5 years. Time to move on.
It’s ok…
I’m still on the old 1Password 7 version which I originally paid for way back when. These days, I mainly use Apple Passwords though. I also have a lot of info stored within the 1Password app, but I’m concerned it will stop working one day and I will lose everything. I’m now considering migrating all my info across to Apple Notes. I’ve grown very tired of the App Store these days. I refuse to subscribe to apps I’ve already paid for which never “grandfather” their original loyal customers. I’m going back to the Apple stock apps. I never want to download another app ever again. They suck and will eventually screw you over anyway. Why bother? Better off not dealing with creating endless accounts, passwords, being locked out, verification codes, etc, etc. I’m done. The Apple stock apps are nothing fancy, but they suit my needs. I want to simplify my life and going down this path is the way to go for me. Less frustration and headaches to deal with when things go belly up too.
Great experience over the past 3 years
Great experience over the past 3 years, and the support service is good and fast.
I've been using 1Password for a VERY long time!
I've been using 1Password for a VERY long time. Moving from stand-alone to paid subscription did take a little bit of work but tech support answered all my questions regarding me having 2 vaults. I use it every day and have NO problem recommending it.
One of the most frustrating software…
One of the most frustrating software experiences in my lifetime. All kinds of counter-conventional processes and infuriating obstacles in the set-up, inability to switch between accounts on the one computer if the desktop app is installed, and still logs customers out all day every day, despite claiming a fix for the problem was just around the corner - four months ago. I left LastPass because it was bad, but 1Password is a lot worse.
Customer service terrible
Great app for years but trying to upgrade to the latest version has been a horrible experience. The customer support is literally sending an email and waiting for a response. Every exchange takes hours so if you don't have an easy issue you need to be prepared to spend days sorting it, one email at a time! there is no way to actually speak to a human. Avoid!
The best Password Manager there is.
Been a 1Password customer for as long as I can remember. The best Password Manager there is.
Leave well enough alone
This app used to be an excellent one to store and use passwords on various websites and other apps. However, they have been constantly upgrading and trying to fix bugs. They have only made things worse, and there are numerous bugs like the app pulling up old passwords for sites that were changed, or not automatically populating usernames for sites like Apple. I have had issues with being locked out of my email accounts on Yahoo, etc., because of these random bugs on 1Password. Their customer service through an automated bot and via email support is lousy.
Very dissapointing!
I started using 1Password a long time ago, and it was nearly perfect. But in the last couple of years, I started having a lot of issues with it.
I really got disappointed when my card was declined, and I tried to cancel my subscription, but I couldn't. The option simply wasn't there anymore. Support said that since my card was declined, I no longer have an active subscription and I don't have anything to cancel. I asked them to confirm, and they did. But they kept trying to charge my card for about two weeks after that.
At the end, I had to allow them to charge my card again just so that I could cancel the subscription.
It's simply ridiculous.
If I don't have a subscription, why are you attempting to charge my card?
And if I in fact still do have a subscription (since you are attempting to charge my card), why don't I have the option to cancel it and stop you from charging my card?
I really hate it when companies make it so hard to cancel; it just makes me look at them differently. For me, 1Password was a must-have and an essential tool. But now it's just one more shady company. And I'm very much happy using an alternative which is almost 4 times cheaper and (so far) better.
👉 You betrayed those who supported you first
I purchased 1Password in October 2014, when it represented simplicity, honesty, and privacy.
It wasn’t just a password manager. It was an idea I believed in.
I had paid for a lifetime license.
Now, ten years later, I’m being told that my version is “obsolete” — and that I need to subscribe to continue using it.
This is not an update.
This is not progress.
This is betrayal.
You silently turned a “pay once” model into a “pay forever” trap.
And you expect those who supported you first to accept it quietly?
I didn’t pay for version 6 or 7.
I paid for your values:
🔐 security
🤝 independence
🧭 honesty
Now I’m treated as just an “obsolete user”, gently pushed into your subscription system.
You’ve changed — and not for the better.
📷 I installed 1Password in 2014. I trusted you.
📎 I also published my full statement in three languages (English, Italian, Russian) — on Instagram.
I’m not angry about the app changing.
I’m angry because you changed what you had promised, pretending it was an improvement.
You’re not updating.
You’re not improving.
You’re betraying.
1Password may be good when it works but... there are…
1Password may be good when it works, but there are all sorts of weaknesses in their system that can lock you out of all of your passwords. They generate a Secret Key and a Recovery code for a rescue of a locked account, but don't support standard Passkeys for their own application. Neither worked for me to recover my account!!! What's worse is that the company that owns 1Password shields themselves from direct customer support and only handles issues via email so if you are stuck, it is a highly difficult process to get assistance from a live person. Also, their system sends emails alerting users to improper account access; in my case, I changed my password to the 1Password software and thought I saved it into my account passwords, but it did not save and now I am locked out of all my passwords even with their Secret Key and Recovery Code. It's a weak backup system!
Horrible (on going) customer service for…
Horrible customer service for Individuals and family. I had used their free app for almost a decade and then my husband upgraded to 1Password7 and then 8. I have never been able to migrate my 395 passwords over to the new app and their email tech support is THE WORST!!! It says they are there 24/7 but it takes forever for a response. The emails are time stamped with prompt responses but they don't show up in my gmail box for hours (at which point I have left the house and can no longer stop what I am doing to try their idiotic repetative theory. I have been dealing with this for 5 weeks. Yesterday I spent 3 hours in the morning working on this and 2 hours in the evening. I even had a programmer friend try to help me. Now I am completely locked out. I am disabled and I really need phone support and they just disconnect anyone with an individual account. I am a big apple fan, products are great but customer support is what really makes a difference. I loved 1password for years because it really helped me particularly because of my disability but now I really think it sucks big time. When tech support emails me to do something - they just expect me to know how to do it. "now migrate your old vault to the new vault" well there is nothing in the app that says "MIGRATE DATA" or anything like that. Where the F is the vault that they are talking about. Nothing on my screen for that either. It is really pathetic. I am happy for all you people who have no problem using the app but just wait until you have 400 passwords somewhere in the ether and you can't get to them. Poop.
Update: I have emailed them 3 times today and still have not heard back from them. I forgot to mention that they keep telling me that I don't have a license and I have to join - even after I have told them my husband has a family account. They must only hire morons.
An obnoxious intruder that works 10 times WORST than Google password manager
I bought this abysmal piece of sw hoping to improve the management of my passwords, but really cursed the moment I decided to do so.
1password installs a program that literally requires to be unblocked super often, which means, either you select for it a simple password (which they DO NOT recommend) or every time you open Google Password to copy and paste it.
When you dare to register a new one, this obnoxious, ill-conceived, stupid sw pops up everywhere, not only to register your password, but also to register the temporary codes many sites send you via mail or sms to access, your address, your date of birth, no matter if, as you can argue, your date of birth is not going to change that often.
In a nutshell, I think I marked the record for having bought the most horrendous and useless piece of software ever.
Insistent pain
This tool is very insistent and obnoxious! Some passwords I have to copy and paste as it can't recognize the login and password fields. When attempting to setup a new password it covers and obscures account setup buttons on webpages then several other sites it just got me locked out of when I used its recommended password because it's just so easy to use the recommended password then have 1password not remember or save its entry from two seconds ago next thing you know your new account with a site is locked and 1password has no record. This is not easy to use or a friend to efficiency.
Just switched to Keeper
Just switched to Keeper. So much better in almost every way.
