Good service, good charger

Updated Review - better product, better customer service

I left a negative review earlier in May as the product broke and I was going round in circles with customer support.

However I am glad to say that once I dropped onto the right member of staff (Ben- thank you) the issue was resolved straight away. They sent their third party installer asap and the new charger has a much sturdier holster too.

So all in all, pretty happy. Shame it broke but things break from time to time so hey-ho.

In store great, post purchase awful

In store service was great. Since then it's been a disaster

1) I arranged for in store delivery on a particular date and attended. Products did not arrive.

2) they arranged delivery to my house next day which was fine. But sent the wrong length trousers (sold out of 30 so sent 32 manager Ian told me in an email)

3) manager Ian said they would amend the trousers but for a charge.

4) I have been absolute peppered with spam emails I did not sign up to.

Was given a gift card, damaged

Was given a gift card. When I went to remove the silver strip to expose the code it took the paper with it and therefore the code is not readable. I tried to contact them via phone but noone mans the phone. Let's see if they can fix this by email and I'll adjust the review if it gets fixed but a bad start so far!

Absolute waste of time.

Absolute waste of time.
The amount and availability of rewards is so incredibly small I would be surprised if 1% of users get to claim their points.
I wonder if it is a scam.

Great service awful car

Very torn on how to review, or whether to review at all.

The chap who sold us the MG ZS ev in January 2023 was pleasant enough although he made a few errors along the way. Including selling us the wrong car (different plate) but same model so no harm done.

The problem is the product. The car is woeful. Glued together in Chinese factories and falling apart within a year. Advertised range of 200mile is less than 100 on a cold day driving above 50. Yes you expect some battery issues on an electric but that dip is atrocious.

The build quality is the main issue. Bits fall off, cameras and ports don't work. The console is always on the fritz. Android auto? Drops out every five miles or so.

As a dealership there fine. As a product, it's genuinely the worst mistake of my life buying this car. Buy cheap buy twice.

5* people 0* car so 2.5* average seems fair.

Had the absolute pleasure of buying a property listed with Whitegates Barnsley. Primarily dealt with Will.

They were on the ball throughout, and the first to let me know of any developments, even quicker than my own agent.

I was so impressed I wish I'd used them myself! I will do next time, although I hope that's not for a long time as they've sold me a lovely house.

Great service, extortionate price

The chap who visited, Nathan, was fantastic. Knowledgeable and personable.

However the quote is ridiculous. 4k to swap a combi for a combi, so no pipe work and done in a day costs 2.4k of labour. Pull the other one.

As a purchaser

As a purchaser, their communication is shocking. Its been some time since offer was accepted and they've still not sent the memo of sale to either set of solicitor/conveyancers so no work can begin, causing delay to the chain. No wonder it's free. You get what you pay for.

Edit -I spoke to a very helpful member of staff on Saturday that got the ball rolling so have increased this from 1 to 3 star.

Edit - I'm amending it back down to 1 star. It seems the one useful person we spoke to last time was the only one. Since then we are no further on one month later, my partner recently called and they couldn't find half our details and I called today and they had no record of us at all.

I won't be using them to sell, ever, and I'll probably avoid buying any houses listed with strike from now on.

Excellent work, exorbitant costs

Martin attended my home and installed a sump pump in my cellar. A few weeks in and the cellar is dry and it is doing the job. Martin was fantastic and explained everything. He is a credit to the company.

However the cost was ridiculous. Over £3k for three quarter of a days work and the pump/pipes. was very disappointed with the price.

Overall okay except for the shady…

Overall okay except for the shady practice of adding a charge to paying in installments without making it clear I was doing so.

If id have know of the charge I would have paid in one. But they hid it and you had to add up the installments to see it was more than the cash price.

Poor delivery and no communication

I ordered a secret santa present at the weekend, its now Thursday and its not been dispatched yet. Delivery was supposed to be 3 to 5 working days. No communication from the company.

Edit - since posting this I received an email to say it had arrived, which was an odd coincidence. Unfortunately due to lack of correspondence to let me know it had dispatched I bought something else instead. Upgraded from 1 to 3 stars.

I could say there would have been a simpler solution from a customer perspective to fix my problem (discount code didn't apply when I bought items, so I had to refund and rebuy, they could have just refunded the difference) but that's what the best solution she could offer was and it was very easy to fix
