Excellent Service

I felt obliged to write Collinson Insurance Group a review, due to the excellent service I received from them with my claim and to give them some support, what with all the negative reviews they have received on this platform.

I booked a holiday last year to Thailand from the 3rd May - 5th June and, during my last week on holiday, unfortunately I crashed the motorbike I was renting and had to be admitted into hospital for surgery. The total amount of the medical costs came to over £1000, so naturally I was very disappointed to have to pay out such a large amount of money.

I had taken out insurance with the Post Office - who supply insurance through Collinson - and so, when I returned home, I began the process of trying to make a claim to get at least some of the money back that I had spent on medical bills. I was told by a customer adviser to upload certain documents - such as: medical certificates; credit card transactions and flight booking details etc - which I promptly did. I was also required to get my GP to fill out and sign a document, so I got on top of that as well.

In the month of August, I then received an email to say that my settlement had been processed and that I would receive payment within 5 days. Collinson were true to their word, and I received a payment of £1038.44 into my bank account - a reimbursement of the FULL cost of my medical bills. To say I was overjoyed is an understatement. The whole process took only around two months to resolve, which is not really a long time, as insurance companies do need time to look into claims etc.

I was later thrilled to learn that I would also be receiving compensation for my cancelled flight, as, due to my accident, it wasn’t suitable for me to travel on the date that I had originally booked to return home, and so I had to make a new booking at a later date.

To the people complaining in the comments about having to wait very long periods of time for reimbursement, I can only guess that these individuals have not taken the time to fully read the requirements of the insurance company - such as the specific documents that are needed for a claim to be submitted - or I’m certain that they would have been reimbursed by now.

I do a lot of traveling and will never hesitate to use this insurance company again, due to the excellent service I received from them when making a claim last year.

Absolutely useless company

Absolutely useless company. They sent an offer stating that travellers can get £50 off flights if they claim the reward at 7pm. I then went onto the app at that time only to be told that the offer is now sold out, which is ridiculous, as I literally attempted to claim the reward at 7pm - on the dot! Must be some sort of scam to try to draw customers onto the app.

They also sent me another offer recently stating that, if I used my Mastercard to make a payment, I could get a £50 discount, but when I attempted to book a flight, I kept getting an error message. I contacted trip.com via online chat and telephone regarding this matter, but they were absolutely useless and couldn’t offer any assistance. Just fed up of being messed around by these companies. It’s stressful enough trying to book a flight, without all of these complications

BEWARE !!!

Just wanted to warn people about using the courier company Evri; especially over the Christmas period. Last Christmas, I sent two mobile phones with Evri, and both items went missing. The first item was marked as delivered, however, it was not received by the recipient. The second item was marked as “damaged beyond repair” and I was later told that the item had been disposed of. This is considered a “trespass of property” and an illegal act. I later found out from the Consumer Action Group website that, in all likeliness, these two items had probably been stolen by the Evri couriers, as apparently this is a common scenario with this company.

I was then advised by the Consumer Action Group to write to Evri and make a formal complaint explaining my situation and that I was seeking compensation for these two missing items. They then responded to me stating that these particular items are under the “non-compensation” list and basically refused to resolve the issue.

I then wrote to Evri again, this time writing them a Letter of Complaint and explained to them that, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, this is regarded as treating a customer “unfairly” and, as a courier service, they have a duty of responsibility to provide a “satisfactory” service to consumers. I also, once again, reiterated that I am seeking full compensation for the value of the two missing items and giving them 14 days to resolve this issue before filing a Court Claim against them online through the GOV.UK website.

They, once again, tried to fob me off with the same line about these items being in the “non-compensation” list, and so I then made a Court Claim against them online.

They were then given a period of time to respond to my case. You wouldn’t believe just how ridiculous and pathetic this company is because they will literally wait until the very last day - or even the very last hour hour - to respond to make this process as long and drawn out as possible. So, after waiting until the very last moment, they then requested an extension to the Court Service to respond to the case. Then, once again, they waited until the very last amount of time that they had to respond before filing a response and stating why they are not willing to pay etc. After that, the case then went to a Mediation service, where a Mediator would speak to both parties to try to resolve the case. Then, finally, after a long-drawn out process, I was able to receive compensation for both items and get MOST of the money back for the value of my two mobile phones. I did take a small amount of loss, but with a Mediation service, you have to expect that.

I have never used the courier service Evri again, after this incident, and I would advise people to also avoid them because they are very untrustworthy and not a reliable company. If anyone has lost any items and just accepted the loss, I advise them to visit the Consumer Action Group website, and they will guide you through the process of how to get compensation for lost items.

Excellent Deals

Happy with service. I was looking for round trip flights to Thailand, and Crystal Travel had the lowest priced tickets available and were a lot cheaper than the other companies on the Sky Scanner flights comparison website. They also offered me a £50 voucher with my purchase to use on my next booking with them. There was an issue with receiving the voucher, but I received a call from one of the team leaders/managers (Vikram), and he kindly resolved the issue and even gave me £10 extra so that I now have £60 off my next booking with them. If you have any problems making a booking online then I recommend giving them a call as the team are very helpful and can give you good deals.

AVOID THIS UNTRUSTWORTHY COMPANY!

Very poor service. I had to cancel a flight with another company due to an accident I had whilst I was abroad, and I then booked a later flight with eDreams. I paid an extra 44 dollars to have an additional baggage allowance on my flight, but when I arrived at the airport, I found out that the extra allowance I paid for had not been included with my purchase. When I returned home, I then contacted eDreams and explained to them that I was not given the extra allowance that I paid for and asked them to issue me a refund. They tried to make out that I did not pay the amount specified for the additional baggage allowance, and so I asked them to send me an invoice of my purchase with a breakdown of all the charges, but I never received it from them, and they have refused to resolve this issue. I find it very ridiculous that they can’t even refund me a measly 44 dollars, which is nothing compared to what I paid for the flight. I think it’s clear that most of the good reviews on this platform are not genuine because every customer seems to be on a “first-name basis” with all the staff, like they have been life-long friends or something. It’s so transparent it’s embarrassing. I advise travellers to avoid this unreliable, untrustworthy company.

Poor service.

Very poor service. Travelled to London from Cardiff on Wednesday 3rd May, and the air conditioning system wasn’t working. The bus was packed, and it was also a hot day, so you can imagine how uncomfortable it was for everyone. The driver didn’t even have the common sense to put the normal fan system on, which would have made things a bit more bearable. The air conditioning unit is separate to the fan system, and so there was no reason to not have the fan on.

RUINED MOTHER’S DAY!

Thank you very much M&S for ruining Mother’s Day. I purchased a bouquet of flowers for my mother, which were meant to be delivered on Sunday between 7am - 7pm, but nothing was delivered. I also haven't received any delivery updates at all to inform me of why the delivery has been delayed. The delivery company that M&S use is called Yodel, so I would advise others to be cautious about using this particular courier.

Excellent service

Thought I’d leave a review as I’m very happy with the service that I received from beds.co.uk. There was a slight misunderstanding as, when the bed arrived, the drawers were on the wrong side. What I did not realise is that you are supposed to choose which side you want by imagining yourself to be stood at the foot of the bed. I had thought that you chose which side you wanted by imagining yourself lying down on the bed. This misunderstanding was swiftly resolved though, and they were able to do a redelivery, only a few days later.

The people they sent out were such nice, friendly people and were an absolute pleasure to deal with. I was charged no “hidden” delivery charges as some people have been complaining about. Delivery was completely FREE - both times! They had initially said that I did have to pay a fee of £29, as I had ordered the wrong item, but they did kindly waiver the charge.

I went for the: New Plush Divan Set + Matching Rio Headboard & Footboard + Hand Tufted Pocket Spring 1500 Memory Mattress in a Royal Blue colour and small double size. It’s a very smart looking bed and super comfortable. I’ve had many a good and refreshing sleep since it arrived. Only set me back £469 in total, so a fair price in my opinion.

They will also assemble the bed for you for no extra charge, which is a nice bonus.

Very appalling service from AMEX

Very appalling service from American Express. I filled out an online application in November 2022 and was accepted for an American Express Platinum Cashback Everyday Credit Card. I chose this card due to the opportunity to earn cash back on purchases which most cards don’t seem to offer. I was delighted to receive my new card within only a few days and immediately put the card to good use to make some purchases. A few days or so later, when trying to use my card, it kept getting declined. I contacted AMEX and, after around an hour on hold, I managed to speak to a team member who told me that my card had been suspended due to a review against my account. I then emailed details of proof of income as they requested and didn’t hear back from them until around four weeks later when they contacted me by post with a default notice letter saying that I was behind on my payments. I contacted AMEX again to ask why I had received a default notice when I had only recently received my card and my account was currently under review. They then informed me that it was because they had decided to cancel my card and close my account. They have now caused me great inconvenience by initially accepting my application and sending out a credit card only to suddenly cancel it after I had began to make some purchases. This is also the time of year when families need financial help the most - during the Christmas period. It just makes no sense whatsoever because I had a good credit score, passed all the credit checks and was initially accepted. I urge people not to be suckered into AMEX and the perks they offer - such as “cash back” because at any minute they can just suspend your card for no reason and close your account down. I’ve noticed that there are others who have also reported the same thing happening to them. Take my advice and choose another company because this company is an absolute shambles who will just mess you around and cause you unnecessary grief.

Absolutely disgraceful service!

Absolutely disgraceful service from Close Brothers Motor Finance. I was sold a car by a dealer which had a fake service history so I raised a complaint with Close Brothers who informed me that they would look into my complaint. I also provided evidence to support my complaint and I was told that these investigations are normally resolved within 40 days. Well it has now been over 100 days since I first raised the complaint on 02/12/2021 and the case still hasn’t been resolved. Furthermore, I have left multiple messages with the Co-workers of the person who was assigned to my case as I haven’t been able to get through to her and she has not responded to any of my call back requests. I have now filed a claim with the financial ombudsman and also reported the individual claim handler so they will now be taking control of the situation. I urge people to be cautious if taking out car finance with this company as I was sold a car with a fraudulent service history which of course is illegal and yet Close Brothers have refused to help resolve this situation and it’s just caused a lot of unnecessary aggravation.

They also had a special offer of 15% off all items so had a really good deal. They kept me in the loop regarding dispatch of item as well. Can’t fault this company at all. Don’t listen to the negative reviews. Some people just always find something to complain about.

Poor service

Poor service. Had to wait around 4 weeks for item to arrive even though it stated on the website that - quote: “All orders will be processed within 4 - 6 working days.” Contacted them regarding this and no apology or explanation was given.

When item did eventually arrive I tried to assemble it but the drilled bolt holes were not aligned properly so I had to basically make new holes so that the arms would fit into the bench.

Instruction manual was also inadequate.

On top of that, the personalised memorial plaque that comes with the bench was very poor quality; a cheap plastic material and the print looks faded; very unsatisfactory.

I expect a better service when paying £200 for an item. Suffice to say I won’t be buying from this company again.

Update:

I’d like to address The Laser Boutique’s response to my review. They stated that this item has a 14 - 18 day processing time which was stated on the listing. This information is false. I challenge anyone to go on to The Laser Boutique’s website and you’ll notice at the top of the page a comment that says: “ALL ORDERS will be processed within 6 - 7 working days. The website originally stated 4 - 6 working days but they have edited it and will more than likely edit it again after reading this post.

They also state that they have sold around 400 of these items and mentioned that they have not had any issues with bolts not aligning and therefore subtlety trying to imply that I am the one at fault and not the item.

Just like to add that I’ve only had the item a few weeks or so now and the wood is already started to deteriorate. I thought that they would have given the wood some kind of weather coating protection at the price I paid or at least given some instruction on how to preserve the wood for a longer period of time. Oh well you live and learn. I know to go elsewhere next time.

We advise on this item that there is a 14-18 working day processing time. This is on the listing when you placed the order. We have sold around 400 of these and yet to have issues with the bolts not fitting. However, sorry you did seem to struggle.

We advertise the plaque to be a laminated plastic. This is laser engraved and this process uses no Ink.

I initially tried a company called Express Imaging, however, the photo quality at Tesco is much better so I stuck with them. Photos can be uploaded online and collected within 20 minutes. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend. 5*

Good service

I don’t often leave reviews but felt obliged to after receiving a good service from the company and seeing all the negative reviews.

I had an iPhone 12 Pro to sell and, after comparing prices through sellmymobile.com, decided to sell to Handtec as they were offering the best price.

After filling out a few details I submitted my order and within a couple of days or so I received a sending pack with prepaid envelope etc.

I was slightly concerned as my phone did take longer than expected to be received and also because of reading all the negative reviews, however, after around a week, they got in touch to inform me that they had received the phone and it would now be sent to the technicians to be checked over.

The next day I received an email asking me to send a copy of my ID as my phone was a high value item which can potentially have a risk of being blacklisted etc. I then emailed them a copy of my passport and then within around 24 hours I was contacted again by email to inform me that my payment had been processed.

I honestly cannot fault the company. The price they offered me for my phone was £696 and that is exactly what they paid me. They were true to their word and did not try to renegotiate as a lot of people have been complaining about.

I think there seems to be some confusion as well over Handtec and Sellphone24 - the website which you are redirected to when comparing prices through mobile phone comparison sites.

Both Handtec and Sellphone24 are the same company, however, the “Handtec” website deals with the buying of phones, whereas, “Sellphone24” is strictly the sales side of things.

So this is my experience of selling with Handtec. I hope that this can be helpful to some people who may be put off by the barrage of negative reviews left for the company.

If your phone is genuinely in “good” condition then you shouldn’t really have a problem in receiving the amount that you have been offered.

I ordered two packs of multivitamins from them on the 26/04/2020 and they arrived with me on the 06/05/2020.

Bear in mind that this company is an American company and I am from the UK so 10 days is a very fast delivery service; especially with the current situation the world is facing.

They kept me in the loop throughout the whole process via email and provided order details, shipping confirmation and delivery confirmation and also provided tracking details etc.

Product arrived well packaged and I am very happy with my purchases and will most definitely be using this company again.

I’d also like to add that their prices are very fair.

They offered the best price for the brand of vitamins that I wanted with delivery to the UK and I did compare quite a few retailers.

They also send good offers and discounts to you via email.

I highly recommend the company iHerb to all and say to potential buyers: do not be put off by the negative reviews.

Some people in life are just impossible to please and will always find something to moan and complain about.

I admit, I was a bit skeptical purchasing from this company after seeing the low ratings, but I took a gamble, and it paid off.

***BUYERS BEWARE***

I made an appointment through Can Can Car Finance with one of the sales team at Trade Centre Wales Cardiff to find myself a car. I agreed to buy a 15 plate Nissan Juke and took the car away the same day. What didn’t dawn on me until later is the tactics that they use to get a sale. One of the tactics they use is to mark up the price of their cars by a large amount and when being shown around they will say something to you like: ‘Oh we can bring this car down by £1500 and give you a special offer as you are a Can Can Car Customer’ so it appears that you are getting a massive saving when in fact, as I later found out, the deal you are getting is still a lot more than the car is valued at. I’ll give my personal example: The car I purchased was advertised at £10,495. I said that was too much so the sales person said that he could bring it down to £9000. Well at the time I thought that sounded great but after taking the car home and getting a car valuation I found out that I should have only paid around £8100 from a dealer (I used a reputable car valuation company - Parker’s price guide). The car also had defects to paintwork and damage to alloys which I did not notice in the showroom what with the lack of daylight inside there. I was only shown the car properly after signing the paperwork but obviously by then it’s too late.
I advise potential buyers to make sure they research the car they are interested in before signing any paperwork and ‘driving away in one hour.’ Use a reputable car valuation website such as Parker’s and make sure that you are getting a fair deal and not being taking advantage of because once you sign the paperwork and drive away then there is no going back.
I visited the store 2 days after purchasing the car as I had some concerns and I was given an email address of someone from customer care who they advised me to contact. I emailed this person but received no reply from them.
Their main concern is getting a sale from you and once that has gone through they don’t want to know.
I had to learn my lesson the hard way but my hope is that others will take heed to this and make sure that they are getting themselves a fair deal.
Do not make my mistake and let yourselves be fooled. Think before acting otherwise you may live to regret it.
