I phoned at 13:00 to request attention to a blocked drain. The technician arrived at 15:00 and used 3 different pieces of equipment (to maximise the charge) in a failed attempt to clear the blockage. He advised me that the drain had collapsed and they could fix it for £2,500. It would be a days work. I said no and was charged £425.76 for the hour and a quarter he was with me. My son then came round and cleared the blockage in 20 minutes using rods. This company was clearly trying to get me to (overpay) for unnecessary work.
This company has conned me out of the £400+
Steer clear of them .
UPDATE......
The following day the company's customer service manager (Lucy) phoned me with profuse apologies and a full refund of the £425.76. I could not expect more as a way of making amends for the previous days unfortunate experience.

Review of Gas-Fix
I called Gas-Fix and got a same day appointment. My problem was an unusual noise from my Baxi gas boiler. When Alan arrived I could not reproduce the noise but Alan went ahead and did a thorough check. Nothing was found and I got a follow-up text a few days later just to confirm that all was well. Excellent service from a highly recommended company.

I have just started my 2nd year with Avro Energy. At the end of the first year I was £226.46 in credit. I emailed them to ask for it to be refunded but after 11 days I had had no reply so I phoned customer service and after 20 minutes I was told that they do not refund automatically - only if the customer requests it! I was also informed that it would be 10 working days before it was actioned. I notice that their target time for answering emails has slipped from 3 days to 5 so customer service is deteriorating. BTW the credit balance was not rolled up into the next year's quote.

Excellent service in every respect. Instructions with the fridge were very difficult to read. Looked them up on the internet where they were clearer.
