Truly excellent service

Excellent service. I won't bore you with the background but we needed two items that were out of stock at the online store to complete the newly-delivered set.
Mrs AM got on the phone (21 December !) round the country and uniformly helpful staff at three store locations (Wandsworth, Leeds and Solihull).
However, the manager at Wandworth (Zoe Ware) was exceptional and really went out of her way to help us; a great ambassador for Habitat and this is one way we can thank her.

Review of UPS UK

I am incandescent.

I am incandescent.
This company has one function - take your money and deliver a package.
I have tried to fill in the online payment that leads to a label to send package from London to USA.
Go through it all and try to pay by Visa debit (which it seems to process) but then tells me I cannot pay by that method (for some reason not explained).
So I edit the payment section and pay by Paypal - I am taken to Paypal, confirm it and get an email from Paypal confirming payment made. Great ? No, I am taken back to UPS site which tells me I cannot pay that way either (so why was that the only other option?) So I do it again in the hope I can get payment 1 back later. It does it again (email from Paypal, return to UPS site, computer says no)
Ring customer service and screaming at the phone because of the inhuman automated system it has designed purely for its own convenience and customer's inconvenience. Then unable properly to understand the operator but she (a) apologies all the time (not her fault) and (b) gives me the number of the help line which I have to redial rather than be transferred.
Ring helpline which takes me inhumanly through a number of options until it just dumps the call by suggesting I phone customer services where I started.

One simple function - take my money and deliver the parcel. But it doesnt function at all. If there is a problem, it shouldn't let me pay (or try to) it should highlight the problem and require me to resolve it.
It is incapable of taking a visa debit or Paypal. How does UPS want paying, gold bars, Pringles, what ?

So I will now work out another route for this parcel. Unbelievable and I don't know how these companies stay in business when they have a uniformally crap interface with the buying public (I exclude the delivery people from that)

PS: I have just gone onto the main site having posted this and see I left a review for them in 2018 as a receiving customer. Haha, they obviously bucked their game up having read that, not. What is the point?

PS2: See the reply below which is precisely the same for each reply. The whole point is I didn't get a tracking number you cretins. I have two pending Paypal payments that I cannot cancel and for what - thin air and a waste of 30 minutes of my time. AVOID

Review of BBC

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It saddens me to write how I feel about…

It saddens me to write how I feel about the BBC and it causes me to pause and check whether it is me since the BBC should be 'right' and, if I am against it, is it me? But it is the BBC that is bad.

When we were young, we drove as far south in France to the limits of LW and we have spent most of our lives listening to the Today program, Newsnight and Question Time etc.

We now decline to watch or listen to anything from the BBC save for BBC R3 (but even that has its utterly inane aspects)

Almost every program - regardless of its subject - is slanted by woke political activists who are not reigned in by management (who no doubt support it). Proper, responsible, honourable standards of journalism are non-existent and it is a free-for-all for activists posing as journalists.

One morning I worked from home and listened to R4 (my erstwhile home) and within an hour and on two separate programs, there were gratuitous comments denigrating white males - of course there was no challenge to these as his was all part of BBC (social) programming. I was shocked to hear the first and along came the next.

A great shame what has happened to the BBC. I recognise what its value ought to be to a nation. It still has a value as an institution but it is rotten to the core having squandered its value - all watched over and cheered on by its management.

Thought they deserved my custom as they…

Thought they deserved my custom as they bothered to make all those Youtube vids and, as I am new to Bromptons, they are useful.
I ordered during lockdown and their site makes it clear there are long postal delays, however, it arrived super quickly. Opened it up to find a personal message on the order form.
First class service and such service deserves our support.

Review of UberEATS

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Complete shambles.

Complete shambles.
Usually use another company for myself but working late with staff and needed food and Ubereats suggested. Order placed and then, round about the expected time of delivery, I receive a phone call asking whether received the order. Of course not, WE ARE STARVING.
Allegedly some cock up and they were cancelling the order. We have our own entrance and are very clearly marked in the City of London so no attempt at delivery could have taken place.
Utterly ridiculous - they have one simple job to do and failed leaving people in the lurch. Too late now to re order elsewhere so our staff worked late and then go home starving - NOT how we like to treat them at all.
Telling me we will be refunded (well, of course, duh??) doesn't really resolve matters to any extent whatsoever.

Review of UPS UK

Extremely poor service

I am expecting delivery and to one of the most known streets in London. Delivery did not take place because of 'insufficient or incorrect address' - nonsense.
Phone to call centre and the operator could not care less - both in content and tone (and difficult to hear and very strongly accented so constantly asking to say it again). States that the delivery van has left the area - but absolutely no indication at all that she has checked or knows where it is as she cannot tell me - but she knows it is not in the area !
The fact that I need the delivery now is utterly irrelevant to this company and it is my problem not theirs. Collect from depot in some godforsaken place or wait (no effort to correct anything). States after I protest, that will ask depot to ring me; well you know the result of that don't you ! Mr or Ms CBA at the depot CBA.
So I have not got my parcel over the very weekend I needed it.

Review of CHRONEXT

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent, very happy

Everything worked extremely well for me.

I dealt with through their online 'chat' system which I would normally ignore but it worked very well.

I (provisionally*) ordered a JLC watch on the 8th November, it was brought over from Germany and arrived as expected on 14th. On 14th, I got an email telling me it had arrived and what to do next. Within 30mins I was in their Fleet St outlet.

At Fleet Street I was treated courteously and with knowledge. It was all unhurried and I now have a lovely watch in first class condition.

All in all, I can say it worked for me.

* I am pretty cautious and wanted to see the watch before committing myself. I ended up with an 'order' and queried this as i did not wish to be contractually bound. I was told online (and I took photos) that it was merely their way of getting it to the UK and that the order was marked 'cash on collection' meaning that I was not committed to buying it if I didnt want to do so. Having attended at the Fleet St shop I am now sure that it would not have been a problem at all and there would have been no awkwardness had I not wished to proceed.
As it turned out, the watch was beautiful and I definately did wish to proceed !
