Review of Big Furniture Warehouse
I recently bought a chest of drawers from e-Bay but one of the panels wasn’t finished properly. We went to local DIY stores to try and buy the parts but were unable to. I emailed the company and was told that a replacement panel would be sent out. When I emailed again to ask when we would receive the panel, I was told that the warehouse had not responded to messages sent to them. As we were waiting to finish the drawers (they are currently in pieces under my son’s bed), I was told that a whole new unit would be sent to me and once I had taken the part needed, then the rest of it would be collected.
I wish I had never bought drawers from this company. It’s not good enough.

I spent two hours trying unsuccessfully to change my phone number on both the Klarna app and the website. I have spoken with three different people, who I’m sorry to say were useless. I am waiting to buy a chest of drawers but can’t until my number is changed.
I’m so angry 😡 😡
NB: In response to your reply, I have been trying to do this all afternoon!!!! As I repeatedly told customer service’, I did not receive a code.

Review of Vanquis
I have not used my credit card for several months and last week received a bill for £9.75. I emailed about it and they said I had to ring them, which I did. The woman was no help at all and said someone would be in touch in a couple of days. No-one responded. I rang again and the woman was more helpful but again, no-one has responded to me. Yesterday I received another bill for £21!! I sent in a formal complaint and this morning received an email saying they had taken £12 off my bill. I have no idea about the rest of it. 😡

I ordered an item from eBay and expected it on 25 February. I hadn’t received on this day so emailed the vendor. They said that after speaking with Hermes, they were told the parcel had been delivered on the 25th and even took a photo of it and where it was left. However, it wasn’t my house! After several emails with the vendor and the CEO of Hermes, it seems that I still do not have a satisfactory answer and still have no idea where my parcel is. This has happened before with Evri and I doubt I will be ordering anything that involves Hermes or Evri. Why the hell are they still in business?? 😡

Absolutely awful. The surveyor was very abrupt on the telephone, so I had a bad feeling from the start. When he arrived, he wasn’t particularly friendly and was quite condescending. I had been unwell for several weeks and had recently come out of hospital so the house wasn’t up to its usual high standard. Also a relative had moved back in and we were storing his belongings and furniture in our loft. I am a single parent who has spent thousands of pounds on this house since we had to move, and I’m pretty damn pleased with how much it’s coming on. So for someone who says they are a qualified surveyor, to come in and devalue your home by over £20,000 is very very upsetting, especially when it was valued a few months ago at a higher price. To say I am fuming is an understatement.

We booked trains to and from London at least 3 months ago. Our outgoing train was due to leave our local station at 11.56. We arrived in plenty of time and sat waiting……and waiting….nothing. We checked the timetable we had been given and it definitely said 11.56. There was no mention of this train on the departure boards, and when checking with the ticket office, the train had already left at 11.36!!! The staff were friendly but could only say that Avanti had changed their TT a year ago!! We ended up waiting for an hour altogether for the next train. It completely ruined our plans as we had arranged to meet with relatives. My daughter messaged them on Friday to complain, but has received no reply. We will never ever travel with this company again. They are appalling. 😡

I have been expecting some important documentation from L&Ghomefinance for over a week now. I have sent countless emails and received no reply, and have attempted several times to ring them but I can never get through. I am absolutely fuming with the customer service. They do not communicate with each other, don’t reply to emails until a good two weeks after sending, and if you phone them you are put in a queue for who knows how long. Very very unhappy ☹️

Review of Mortgage Advice Bureau
Fobbed off by one guy who said it would be a quick process. It wasn’t - it took 3 months. This guy handed my file to someone else because I think he’d had enough of me asking when completion would be. Due to the time it took to complete, I have lost my slot for building work that should have started at the beginning of May. Really not impressed and would never use them again, or recommend to anyone.

If I could have given -1, I would have. My contract expired on 22 June and I ordered a new SIM card after deciding to stay with Vodafone - I regret this now. I found out the day after that I had two mobile numbers and wasn’t receiving texts on the number Vodafone had given me - I should have said that I wanted to keep my old number. I contacted Vodafone via chat and was put through to someone who obviously had no clue how to solve this problem and said they would text me with some info, even though I explained I couldn’t get texts. I was on this chat for over one hour and by this time I was getting extremely frustrated and requested cancellation of both contracts. The agent couldn’t do this (what a surprise) and I was then transferred to another agent who left the chat abruptly without telling me!! I waited a few minutes for someone to chat with me but no-one appeared. Later on I rang and got through straightaway - amazing! I spoke to Jordan who was very helpful and sorted everything out. He said a new SIM card would be on its way and I should receive it the following day. Three days later if hasn’t appeared. I am unable to use my phone away from home as there’s ‘No Service’. I also can’t receive texts. I emailed the CEO today and received an apologetic reply 45 minutes later, promising to look into this.
This customer service is absolutely atrocious and if anyone from Vodafone reads this, I want to cancel the new contract and switch to a company that actually cares about their customers.

Review of Virgin Atlantic Holidays
My daughter booked our Florida holiday in May before the 50th anniversary offer was announced. She attempted to phone Virgin to amend the booking so we could get the $850 dining offer. However, she was told to contact them over WhatsApp, as the phone lines were for urgent holidays relating to COVID.
Last week she received a quote from Virgin so she could amend our holiday for £50 pp, reducing the cost by £227.58 and including the $850 dining. They asked for confirmation of this and my daughter immediately replied saying that this was acceptable and ‘yes please.’ Virgin did NOT reply so she messaged again yesterday repeating that we would like to go ahead with the booking. Yesterday, she was told that the booking is no longer available, and our only option is to pay £750 more for our holiday and get a king size room.
Words cannot express how absolutely seething we are. My daughter responded to the offer immediately, at the time it was available, saying that we would like to go ahead with the booking. However, due to the incompetence of Virgin to reply on time, our booking is no longer available, resulting in us losing £227, plus $850 of dining credit. Upon looking at the website, other hotels are much too expensive for our budget.
When receiving the quote from Virgin via WhatsApp, we were led to believe that the standard room with the dining credits was ours upon my confirmation, hence our immediate response and wish to pay the amendment fee ASAP.
We emailed Virgin last night to request an upgrade in rooms at no further expense to ourselves. The error regarding the WhatsApp messages was the fault of Virgin, and not us. My daughter did everything they asked, and her replies were instantaneous. This is the reply she received today:
“Thanks for coming back to us.
I have once again taken a look at the availability as did my colleague Natalie. Sadly we do not currently have a standard room available at Coronado Springs.
We do work on a live system, therefore prices and availability are subject to change and remain so up until confirmation.
Whilst I acknowledge your request for a free room upgrade, this not something we can offer.
I appreciate this is not the response you were hoping for and I am sorry.”
Absolutely disgraceful customer service. I don’t know what they expect us to do now, as we can’t afford to pay the extra. Obviously they have no compassion or concern about their customers. The only thing they care about is money. 😡😡😡
FOOTNOTE: my daughter spoke to a really helpful guy called Ashley yesterday. He sorted everything out for us - thank goodness. Thank you Ashley.

I have been waiting for Hermes to collect a parcel from me all week, and despite several emails to Amazon customer service, they have still not collected it. Each time I have got through to Amazon (which is 4 times this week), I am given a different answer, but promising that the item will be collected the next day. This evening the agent said that I had to print out yet another label and take it myself to the post office. I am absolutely furious as this is not the first time this has happened with Amazon. Their customer service haven’t a clue as to what they are doing.
Review of Trentham Monkey-forest
My first visit to Monkey Forest today, and I have to say I am more than impressed! The forest is beautifully set out with absolutely loads of space for the monkeys. The friendly keepers were on hand to answer any questions and share their knowledge about the monkeys. Lots of picnic space to eat food, and a cafe selling hot/cold food and drinks, although you can take your own. It takes about an hour to walk round and there’s a couple of play areas for the kids. The gift shop is small but still has an abundance of items to sell, mostly aimed at the children. Highly recommended for a morning or afternoon trip out!
