You are absolutely right regarding the tape width, and have a very good point... The 50mm is manufactured as the most cost effective option for using on the 2" [common standardised timber which is anywhere between 42-48mm wide].
For those wanting better coverage and more overlap down the edges we would suggest the 65mm width as the best option.
