No longer the best

This used to be the best surveys site. All too often now you answer a whole lot if questions no don’t helping their client and get screened out. They do not even offer a token sum for responding.

Hi John, thank you for taking the time to review Panelbase, we appreciate all feedback. A survey will not usually screen you out until you have answered specific screener questions and from there it can be determined whether you fit the exact criteria the client is looking for. Our clients are often looking for a niche group of panellists who have, for example, been watching specific episodes of a tv series, have bought insurance in the last six months or use a specific credit card.

Clients do not pay us for surveys that are screened out or rejected for any reason which is why we are unable to compensate panellists and this is as frustrating for us as it is for you. Any information collected prior to a screen out is never used by us or passed on to the client and is always deleted to comply with MRS guidelines.

If there is a specific survey (or surveys) that have caused you any concern, and you would like us to check, please contact our support team and we will be happy to investigate.

Truly different in the best ways

I was a bit reluctant to sign up with a lesser known energy company, but I'm so pleased I did. People's Energy have not only provided me with a good deal, their customer service is excellent. You get through to real people without pressing umpteen buttons and their staff seem genuinely to value you as a customer. Their whole ethos is also way ahead of the competition. However, my strongest recommendation is that I am likely to stick with them for a another year when I normally switch providers whenever my existing deal ends.

Very disappointing

I ordered a “Photo Upload Bauble” and was very disappointed with this company in every respect. The bauble itself is good quality but the personised photo printing, which is the whole point of the item, is appalling. It was washed out and bore no resemblance whatsoever to the appearance on the website in design mode. The company has ignored my email complaint but that doesn’t surprise me as their communication is poor. The website said I would be able to see order progress against my item..it didn’t. Delivery was delayed but I wasn’t told...I had to contact the company to find that out. And the only update was to finally tell me the item had been despatched. I definitely do NOT not recommend this company. There are plenty of others offering similar personalisation...my advice would be to shop with them.

WiFi boosting that really works

I’ve spent a fair bit of time and money trying to sort out WiFi backspots and in whole home WiFi at long last I’ve found a solution that really works. My WiFi is definitely much faster now. The discs are a doddle to set up with the app and they also look good which is important when you’re putting them round your home. I ran into a problem when I added another disc mainly because I misread the instructions but a call to the help desk (pleased to say it’s in the UK) sorted it straight away. I selected standard delivery because it was free and was very pleased when the discs arrived just 2 days after ordering.

Excellent emergency care, poor customer service

The emergency care provided by the vet was excellent but don’t trust this company to submit your insurance claim for you even though they charge you £15.45 for the privilege. Ten days after treatment and my insurer still hadn’t received the form. Neither did they send the details of treatment to my own vet in a timely manner.

Not trustworthy

Do not trust the sale of your phone to this company. I’ve sent two iPhones to them in the past. First one two years ago they claimed the camera was faulty which was impossible as it had just been replaced by Apple themselves and tested thoroughly. I subsequently sold it to a competitor company who declared it in perfect working order. The latest last week when they claimed there were dead pixels on an IPhone 6S. My own tests (and I am an IT professional with access to special tools) proved there is no fault. I should have learned from my previous experience but hey ho. They offer a fair price and then suddenly find reasons not to pay it. Steer well clear.

And in response to their response, I ran a test against a white screen and there was no damage. I leave others to make their own judgement

Thanks for your review and we are sorry to hear you are unhappy on this occasion.

We can confirm your iPhone was classed as Faulty for having a defective screen, the screen is not broken.
There is a white mark in the display (pixel damage)
The defect is mostly visible on a blank white screen as it appears brighter than the rest of the display.

Inconsistent airline service and terrible customer service

I recently flew Manchester/Mauritius in business class with Emirates and the return leg from Mauritius to Dubai was the worst flight I have ever had. The main course meal was inedible and the cabin crew ignored us completely after I complained. I wrote the UK VP about the service and he didn't even bother to acknowledge the letter, instead passing it on to customer services who themselves failed to respond to the specific complaints. Instead their reply read like marketing speak peppered with assurances they had passed on my comments for further investigation. Given I had a similar bad experience with Emirates several years ago and got similar assurances, I have no confidence things will change. Their service at its best is very good, but so often it isn't and its that inconsistency and failure to treat me like a valued customer that means I would never fly with them again.

Outstanding service

It's years since we booked a holiday through a travel agent, preferring to use the power of the internet to organise all the elements ourselves. But ITC is no ordinary travel agent and we'd forgotten how good it is to have someone else organise everything for you. This was our honeymoon and we wanted it to be perfect. From beginning to end, we felt valued as individuals (not just another customer) and nothing was too much trouble. We have no hesitation in recommending ITC and every confidence that whatever our next trip, they will be the people we will go to and that they'll come up with what we need.. Outstanding service and highly recommended.

Great product, poor service

Impressed with the range of products and prices, I ordered a number of items in readiness for the arrival of two kittens. I paid extra for next day delivery and at the time of writing - four days after ordering - the items still haven't arrived. I was assured of a full refund but regret that I won't be shopping here again as their next day commitment isn't worth a toss

Charging you more every day

Adsa promotes itself with the slogan "saving you money everyday", but beware if you are buying non food items. I purchased a Ceracraft pan from my local store, only to find it on sale at two other places for nearly five pounds less...and have subsequently found two more places which similarly are cheaper. I wrote to Asda customer service who made it clear they only price match with the other supermarkets. So....my advice is to shop around rather than fall in the trap that I did by expecting Asda to be be cheapest all round. Asda..sometimes charging you more every day!

Not our problem attitude

I booked a five star hotel in Europe through this company only to find when I arrived to check in that the hotel could not provide the standard of room I had pre-paid otel.com for. The hotel was outstanding in sorting things out the following day, but otel.com refused to take any responsibility for the problem arising in the fist place. The customer service staff I spoke to barely spoke English and correspondence through their website came down to them saying "it's not our fault". Well, it might not have been their fault, but it was their problem because my contract was with them and not the hotel. But I've learned from the experience and will never ever use them again and strongly advise others to steer well clear.
