Bad company they trap you in a rolling contract when you cancel, they still take money out of your bank in fact, three lots of full payments and I lost out on work as they took money out so I could not work as am self employed and did not have funds to pay for materials for my work but in end it finally got resolved but then they sent the collectors after me because of their error

Had a car accident which resulted in my car being written off (not my fault) and they never paid out for my car. Could never get through to them and once I did they’re always putting the phone down! Awful awful company!! Do not recommend if you want to get ripped off. No help at all

I went to my online portal and checked the box asking for the policy NOT to renew!
On the renewal date it DID renew so I Called and cancelled as I have insurance with another company.
No sooner had I put down the phone, they had another charge against my credit card, in essence they were billing me twice, which is illegal.
Again I phoned and they said its best to let the payment through and they would refund me!
I then contacted my CC Company (Section 75) and opened a dispute. Over a month has now passed and I have received a payment back to my account, along with a payment for the same amount from my CC Company who told me this would be put in to place to keep my balance at 0 while my dispute has been resolved.
I have since had messages and letters telling me I owe Zenith for my insurance when it was cancelled!
Today I called after a letter arrived and they are adamant that I owe for my insurance. I informed them that I do not owe anything as I do not have a policy with them, but they are insisting that I do owe them! After speaking to one of the managers I am no further in resolving this issue and they are now saying that they have sent me 2 x refunds? My CC provider insists that they have refunded the 1 payment that was paid by the card and no more!
This is disgraceful and I feel I am being harassed now for payment for a service that was promptly cancelled and not required. As such I will no doubt see them in court where I will counter claim for distress and harassment. I have all the evidence here on my system and do not know why they cannot see that I have no policy with them at all!
Very poor service in what I deem to be a straight forward resolution.
I look forward to any further communication from them and am prepared to go to court to finally resolve this matter.

Initially had no problems with this company, however after purchasing a new vehicle, my daughter needed to change the details on her policy. After trying a few times online with no success she called the helpline but after waiting for 30 minutes she was cut off 2 minutes before closing time. We then had to arrange for the new vehicle to be delivered as she had no insurance to drive it home. The following day she managed to get through to speak to an advisor who said that their underwriters were unable to insure her new car despite it being a smaller car, having a smaller engine and a lower insurance group than her previous one. They gave no specific reason why and left her with no option but to cancel her policy, charging her £105 for the privilege! She also lost the six months no claims bonus by cancelling half way through. It's expensive enough these days for students to pass their test and buy and run a car. If you think you might want to do something as simple as changing your vehicle half way through a policy you should consider saving yourself the money and hassle and go with someone else.

really bad experience. communication is very very bad. Asked NCD submitted and few days after on my account it was showing everything OK and NCD accepted now they cranked up my premium double and saying the NCD what they are after is from another vehicle. Checked this over phone and customer support has no access to any details. They dais it will take up to 7 days, Now over 14 days and can't even cancel my policy without a huge premium.

Absolutely terrible insurance company that clearly have no idea what on earth they are doing!
We have just taken out a new policy for our van. We were asked to provide proof of no claims discount, which we uploaded to the self service portal and emailed to them. They then emailed us asking us to get in touch with them, which we did. They then told us that they actually needed the NCD for my partner's other vehicle, we questioned why we needed provide proof of NCD for a separate policy on a different vehicle, but we were told this was the process, so we sent that information across. The next day, we received another email asking for us to get in touch, so we did, turns out we were advised incorrectly and that they in fact needed proof of my NCD on my vehicle, which again we provided. Once again, the following day we had an email asking us to get in touch again, so we did. Once again, we had been incorrectly advised, they DO need proof of NCD for the vehicle we are insuring, however what we have provided isn't acceptable because it's not a current policy. We explained that our previous policy had expired, hence why we are (painfully) trying to take out a new one with Zenith, but they said if we don't provide proof of NCD from a current policy then they will charge us an additional £160 for our policy or a £45 cancellation fee if we choose to cancel.
I've been taking out insurance for the last 16 years and have never experienced this before. When questioning the many different people on the end of the phone they all seem confused as to what the process is, yet they are more than happy to charge their customers additional fees due to their lack of knowledge. We've asked to speak to a manager but have been told a manager won't be able to speak to us for 24-48 hours - which makes sense given what we've been through, I imagine they are very busy dealing with endless complaints!!
We've read through the policy from the underwriter at Zenith, we've checked what information we submitted through the third party website to take out this policy and everything is correct, so I honestly have no idea what script the call centre employees are working from!
I hope everyone reading this is just as confused as I am - best to avoid this company altogether in my opinion!

Useless communication, after taking full payment for my policy. Threatened to cancel my policy even though the documents they asked for were sent. Didn’t recognise my new reg for two weeks after the policy was set up which I tried speaking to them about but got a very vague response. I’m not sure whether my insurance was valid at this point? When I was finally able to change the reg after multiple attempts in the online account they charged me £20 for the pleasure of doing it myself.

I’ve had an excellent experience with Zenith . From the start, the process of getting car insurance was clear and straightforward. The team was very professional, answered all my questions, and made sure I fully understood my coverage options. What impressed me most was how quickly they handed paperwork and sent to me. Very good price and options what to choose.
