1-Star Review: Extremely Disappointed with Tefal Service
I honestly thought Tefal was a reliable brand, but I was completely wrong. I paid £240 for a steam generator iron that turned out to be faulty, and the customer service has been absolutely horrendous.
It’s taken them over two weeks just to collect the iron, and it’s still not repaired or returned. For a premium-priced product, I expected much better service and faster support.
I really wish I had checked the reviews on Trustpilot before spending so much money — it seems I’m not the only one who’s had this experience. Do not buy from Tefal.
Faulty Pan After One Use & Awful Customer Service
I bought the Tefal Ingenio Emotion 13-piece set and could not believe the quality. After just one normal use, one of the pans was already marked and stained inside and out. This is a product advertised as non-stick and “premium,” yet it looked damaged immediately.
When I contacted Tefal, instead of admitting it might be defective or offering a replacement under their guarantee, I was simply given a list of cleaning tips (all of which I had already tried). The issue is not cleaning — the pan was faulty from the start. To make things worse, Tefal expect me to pay the return costs, even though this falls under warranty and my consumer rights.
For the price and the reputation of the brand, this is extremely disappointing. Poor quality product, poor aftercare, and no accountability.
I won’t be buying Tefal again and would warn others to think twice before spending their money.
Tefal products aren't as good as they used to be
Tefal products aren't as good as they used to be. They have gotten worse over the past decade. They're still better than cheaper competitors such as Scoville and own brand pots and pans, but they're longer anywhere near as good as other competitors in the premium price range, which they compete against with their pricing.
The big issue I find with them is that their non-stick technology doesn't work and their warranty is only a yearlong when other premium products are 5,10 or lifetime. My advice is chose Ninja pots and pans over Tefal. They're often on sale at around the same price but the ninja ones are visably made of better materials, actually has no-stick that works and they all come with long warranties.
RECALL WARNING: Tefal X-FORCE FLEX 14.60/15.60
Date of experience: September 2025
I am writing this as an urgent warning regarding the Tefal X-FORCE FLEX 14.60/15.60 battery recall. The product, purchased in 2025 , is virtually brand new but is now completely unusable due to a confirmed manufacturer-caused safety defect.
1. Unacceptable Safety & Loss of Use:
Tefal requires customers to stop using the vacuum immediately due to the fire risk. However, the replacement battery delivery is estimated at 3-4 weeks, meaning I am left without a necessary home appliance for over a month.
2. Scandalous Refusal of Remedy:
The consumer service team flatly refused to offer a refund, refused to offer ANY compensation for this month-long loss of use, and repeatedly stated they are "not accountable." This denial of responsibility for a fundamental product failure is an insult to consumer trust.
3. Manufacturer Shifting Cost of Hazardous Waste (£??):
The most shocking part is the refusal to reimburse the essential cost of safely disposing of this hazardous, recalled battery. I am required to pay £?? (estimated cost covering 2 hours of essential travel/labour to a hazardous waste recycling centre) to clean up Tefal's manufacturing fault.
This is not compensation; this is a direct financial loss incurred to fulfil the manufacturer's safety obligation.
This company really need to reconsider…
This company really need to reconsider the whole business management. We ordered a product with speed delivery, payed extra for next day delivery. It was delivered four days after estimated day. The product was not in full. So I ordered needed accessories. Three (!!!) phone calls with longest conversations on very straight forward matter. Emails with order tracking are not getting delivered. The last conversation was with the rudest assistant possible. Even though I am a customer who is waiting for speed delivery for over 3 weeks now, I received the rudest tone in conversation blaming my lack of understanding of the situation instead of their worst business organisation as well as technical issues in their email system. Very rude assistant with problem not solved.
Customer service = Shambolic
Bought a cooking pan via a major UK store. The base looks like the 'base' however, as it transpired the other day there is an additional round 'base' attached to the base of the pan.
I heard banging but couldn't find the source of the noise.
When i went to stir the contents i then found that these two pieces had separated leaving the pan useless.
I contacted customer services who say they cant assist without proof of purchase!
Surely actually having the pan is proof purchase?
What's the point in advertising a 9 year guarantee?
Who actually keep receipts for such items?
Flex12.60 vacuum
Flex12.60 vacuum
Dire absolutely dire.
Supposedly stores against the wall. In this case the wall storage part has no screw holes and won't fit flush against the wall.
Nor will it fit the floor docking station.
Indian call centre of no use whatsoever.
Customer support closed during normal working hours 18th Sep 2025
Item ordered Sunday, for next day delivery. Delivery expected Tuesday. It is now the end of the day on Thursday.
I have tried calling customer support, which is open 8 AM to 8 PM, and it says the offices are now closed, at 3:20 PM!
I tried calling the ROI number, and have the same.
The chat function has disappeared from the website today. I have no way to ask where my order is, but the money has been taken.
Absolutely terrible. I can see my parcel sat in Yodels local depot. It has been there days.
Don't ever buy Tefal from the Tefal website. Shocking customer service.
DO NOT BUY anything from tefal
DO NOT BUY anything from tefal! Am absolute joke of a company... I paid over £150 for a set of pans... Bear in mind, I am a chef and have been for 15 years.
I bought an induction pan set and one of the pans no stick coating is obviously non existent... First time I ever used this pan and everything was sticking, even with oil... I called up Tefal, sent them pictures of the pan and they got back to me and told me that they have invalidated my guarantee, because I didn't use enough oil, when they don't have a clue how much oil I used and that all they can offer me is a a discount on a new item! I would never in my life but anything Tefal! I've had murder with them on the phone and they won't refund or replace the pan! The aftercare is shocking!
As a chef, I would highly recommend that you never buy any Tefal cooling equipment!
DO NOT BUY!
Efficient customer service
I called the customer support regarding an issue with my airfryer. The customer relations advisor Sayed arranged for it to be collected and has answered all follow up emails promptly. Great customer service!
Rip off
Cost of item (small, light spare part): £6.70
7 day delivery to Leicestershire: £13.50
And yet head over to shop.tefal.co.uk, where they sell new appliances: Orders below £50.00, 48 hour delivery is charged at £4.99
So this HUGE company is exploiting the fact that you're an existing customer to rip you off on postage.. not a great look Tefal.
Tefal Ingenio pan set for people who want to spend more time cleaning them than cooking in them
PRODUCT: Tefal Ingenio Emotion 22-piece . After 1 use saucepan turned brown inside & out . Then used 1 frying pan same thing happened to the outside Complained to customer service . Was sent a 3 page generic reply on how to tend to the pans including buying specialist cleaning fluid or to soak after use for 2 hours with citric acid . So if you are prepared to spend more time trying to clean these pans than cooking in them these are the ones for you . Nowhere does it advise you that extra special care and specialist cleaning products are needed to stop the pans from looking stained and ruined after 1 use . Tefal say it's not a manufacturing fault but I can get a refund . Only after contacting them 3 times with slow responses in between . Not impressed . Avoid
Terrible after sales service
Terrible after sales service, expensive steam-generator iron, under a year old.
Sent for repair, returned, fault starts again, two months later - poor communication and lack of response. No replacement offered. Last time I will buy from Tefal.
Pots are not worth the price
Pots are not worth the price. After couple of uses there are visible marks, which after each use is more and more. Never had this before with other pots. Castumer service rude told me this is normal 'wear and tear' and simply hung on me. I am very disappointed, I will never buy from tefal
Avoid this company like the plague
Avoid this company like the plague, once they got your money they don't want to know you, god forbid you ever need a repair done, I'm left with a very expensive paper weight now as they failed to repair my air fryer, failed to return all parts with it and now just blame the service centre, what a joke
AVOID TEFAL
Ordered some accessories on 31st July over a month ago and not received yet. Helpline, is an outsourced call centre that can not help, no one replies for ages to email. Avoid Tefal at all costs
Tefal Freemover Air cordless iron
Bought a Tefal Freemover Air cordless iron and it is absolutely useless. It is very clear that marketing was more important in the design of this product that good functionality. "The lightest cordless iron by Tefal, designed to make light work of your ironing sessions" The science of ironing is that you apply a hot heavy metal plate to the creased fabric to remove the creases. Applying a hot lightweight ceramic plate doesn't work. And as it is so lightweight, the operator needs to apply the extra weight, continuously pressing down hard, making the whole exercise a heavy workout. Also the blurb says 'Recharges rapidly' no it doesn't and what's more, each charge doesn't even last long enough to iron one 12" square hankerchief.
Rubbish item. Certainly not worth £55.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! Bought a vacuum which stopped working properly within 7 months. Took numerous weeks for it to be picked up and sent for repair. Came back in the same condition and not functioning properly. Not even tested when it went in for “repair”. Been almost three weeks for it to be picked up again. They “forgot” to book the collection. Then told me it has been collected when I still have the vacuum. Then was asked to drive over an hour to drop it off at their store! Extremely unhelpful team. Rubbish product. Stay away from this company. Have not had a working vacuum for 8 weeks now.
Avoid- do not order online!
Ordered an item- in the confirmation email it stated the product would be dispatched within 24hrs and be with me within 2-3 working days..4 days later and two phone calls to Tefal to no avail! And the product still hasn’t even been dispatched!
Terrible customer service experience
I had an issue with the lid of a saucepan which, unbelievably, became damaged by heat – not exactly fit for purpose. When I contacted customer service, they asked for a video, photos, and even a detailed explanation of how I normally use it (clearly fishing for a reason to avoid responsibility).
After I provided everything, they apologised and promised to send a prepaid delivery slip by email. Nothing arrived. After several follow-ups by email, I called their dreadful phone line and finally spoke to a representative who was not only dismissive but continually interrupted me. To make matters worse, he then backtracked on the replacement offer and blamed me for the lid melting.
I asked to escalate to a manager and was told I’d receive a call within 48 hours. That was three weeks ago, and I’m still waiting.
In short: their products may be decent, but if you ever need support, prepare for frustration. They don’t seem to care about their customers at all. Avoid.
