I ordered a new cordless Dyson from the Dyson online shop. I have been Dyson loyal for approx 25 years now. I am happy with the vacuum. But I did not receive the advertised extras. I called to report... See more

About Dyson
Dyson was founded on the idea of solving problems that others ignore; vacuum cleaners that clog and lose suction, hand dryers that are energy hungry and don't work, and hair technology that relies on extreme temperatures and cause heat damage.
Since it was established in the UK in 1993, Dyson has grown from one man and one idea to a global technology company with an ever-growing team of engineers and scientists at its core.
Today, Dyson machines are sold in over 65 countries. From cordless vacuum cleaners to air purifiers to hair dryers ; a whole new generation of technology has made its way into the hands of Dyson owners around the world.

Repeated defect
Repeated defect, no permanent repair, Dyson Turkey failed to act. I’ve escalated via ECC-Net and legal complaint to Dyson HQ. Extremely disappointing for a premium brand.
The ratings speak for themselves
The ratings speak for themselves. The worst company I have had the displeasure of dealing with, EVER. They promised 1-2 day delivery on an expensive fan, then failed to deliver the fan, could not tell me if or when the fan would be delivered, refused to give me a refund, then promised to refund me but I’m still waiting. My bank will be starting proceedings to recover the funds.
Absolutely horrible customer service experience!
I placed an order for a hoover on 11 October late in the evening. After the payment went through, I realised that Apple Pay used my old address as the delivery address.
First thing the next morning (12 October), I called Dyson customer service to correct this simple mistake. I was told by the operator that it was impossible to amend anything once the order had been placed. I explained that I no longer live at that address and asked what could be done.
The operator suggested that I buy another hoover and just wait until the first one “returns back to them” - as if £650 is a small amount of money to have tied up in duplicate orders! Then they advised me to cancel the order, saying the “pending money” would be released by the bank shortly.
I agreed to the cancellation, and later contacted Dyson via chat, where they confirmed that the cancellation request was sent.
But the story didn’t end there - I soon received an email stating that the hoover had been shipped anyway! And of course, to the address where I no longer live and have no access.
When I called again, another operator told me I now have to wait until the parcel is returned to Dyson and then another 10 working days for the refund to be processed. Considering that Royal Mail holds missed parcels for 18 days, it means my £650 will be unavailable for well over a month, and I’ll be left without a hoover - all because Dyson refuses to amend an address that could be corrected in less than a minute.
This experience was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. Lazy, most unhelpful, and rigid customer service that makes a simple issue unnecessarily complicated.
Avoid buying directly from Dyson at all costs - it’s not worth the stress or the wasted time and money.
DON’T TRUST THEM! LIARS. THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS!
I place and order on 26 September. I contacted them as I didn’t received the order on time for a new battery. Few days later they said there was a technical issue, A SMALL ONE, and they were trying to resolve and send the order. Days pass and I contact them again and keep saying my order was stuck and it will be send as a priority. Now, after weeks waiting I receive an email saying they cancelled my order! WHAT KIND OF JOKE IS THIS! I don’t have a vacuum and after weeks waiting they decide to cancel my order now! And if I want it I need to place the order again! How can I trust Dyson again? They want to take my money again when they have not even be reliable resolving the first issue! I won’t be buying from them again. There are many reliable vacuum out there and the customer service and their system is the biggest joke. DO NOT TRUST THEM!
Unhappy!!!
I have had my cordless dyson hoover for 4 years. I clean the filter regularly. I washed it yesterday popped it back in today and it's stopped working. It keeps saying the airway is blocked even though everything is clean. I called Dyson for advise only to be told I needed a new filter??? Which would cost me £45. I cannot understand how that would help as there is nothing wrong with the one I have and it's clean. This is not the first time this has happened with a Dyson hoover, you'd think I'd have learnt my lesson, but never again will I buy a Dyson. I rather put that £45 towards a hoover that works and is reliable, if I'm honest it was never that great in the first place. Mr Dyson needs to make his products better so he's not adding to the throw away society. To make things worse I think the person I was talking to was AI as half the time she didn't make sense, I had to ask them to repeat themselves? I cannot be 100% on this information even though I asked her three times was she AI, she came across as very robotic, something else I feel also needs addressing by Mr Dyson. Don't waste your money on a Dyson that's my advise.
Disappointing durability and poor after sales support
I purchased a Dyson V10 expecting a premium product built to last. After just two and a half years, the battery now provides less than five minutes of runtime on the standard setting — an entirely unacceptable level of performance for a product at this price point.
Dyson’s response has been equally disappointing. I contacted them to explain the issue and request assistance, expecting at least a gesture of goodwill or a discounted replacement given how prematurely the battery has failed. Instead, I was repeatedly told the product is “out of warranty” and offered no support beyond the option to purchase a new battery for £84. The £84 price for a replacement lithium-ion battery is unreasonably high and undermines Dyson’s image as a brand built on integrity and quality engineering.
A company that positions itself as a leader in innovation and precision should stand behind its products for longer than the bare minimum warranty period. The lack of accountability and the inflated cost of replacement parts suggest Dyson is now relying on after-sales revenue rather than product longevity.
I would urge anyone considering a Dyson to look elsewhere. There are now several brands offering comparable or better performance, with far more reasonable after-sales service and pricing.
Worst experience of my life
Worst experience of my life. Had my hoover collected almost 5 weeks ago. Supposedly lost in transit. Phoned at least 17 times and constantly get told the case is escalated. I have 3 kids and a dog, my son asthmatic hence the animal hoover which we use 3 times a day. Contacted citizens advice over this as constantly being palmed off. Would never recommend going with dyson and also u only speak to people from europe not the uk!!We still waiting on a hoover or update, the worst customer service ive ever experienced.
Shambles and misleading
This isn’t particularly a comment on the function of product, more a comment on the delivery and returns process and being misled on the ‘deal’ price.
Both delivery and returns were highly frustrating. I was not given an ability to track, website said my order didn’t exist, parcelforce turned up to deliver without warning, I was told courier would ask for a pin code which they knew nothing about etc.
Return process took 25 minutes to organise. Again DPD courier asked for label to be applied to package, I had to contact customer service again who said no label was needed. So far, hours after arranging small brush return, no label provided as promised from Royal Mail. Shambles.
As for the apparent’deal’ I would say that it is wrongful and misleading to advertise a previous price of £450 - now just £299 for a V10 total clean. If you look online, originally the total clean contained lots of extra accessories, this deal doesn’t, just the main two brushes, crevice tool and small brush. It’s so unfair to make people think they are getting a bargain when they are actually just paying the regular price for the items provided. Shameful.
I was so angry that I returned products. I don’t care how great your products are Dyson, I care about integrity and transparency.
Useless customer service
Useless customer service. I ordered a vacuum next day delivery and after a week I had zero communications from them why my order hasn’t been despatched. I have chased and the only response you get is please wait 48 hours. After 48 hours of no update you chose again and get told the same. The agents are very polite but stuck in some ridiculous cycle of not being able to help.
Customer service way exceeded my…
Customer service way exceeded my expectations. They gladly honoured my 5 year warranty 4 years in and sent me back a hoover working with all new filters at zero cost!
Blown away
Appalling customer service from Dyson.
Appalling customer service from Dyson.
I ordered a birthday present for my daughter, paid immediately, and stayed home all day on the confirmed delivery date — but no delivery was ever made and no one attempted to contact me, even though Dyson’s email stated a PIN would be required for delivery.
Dyson then falsely claimed there was a “failed delivery attempt” and told me I’d have to wait another 14 working days for a refund — on top of the 23 days that had already passed. That means 37 days to get my money back for an item that never arrived.
I’ve contacted Dyson multiple times and still received no response or update. Absolutely unacceptable from a company of this size. I had no choice but to buy the same item elsewhere just to get it in time.
Be warned: Dyson takes your payment instantly but makes you wait weeks for refunds and doesn’t respond to customer emails.
Buying Airwrap Vinca Blue created…
Buying Airwrap Vinca Blue created storms in our family, because my wife was very very angry to the product. Instead of straightening it, it made the strands frizzy. But Dyson seller did not help us about replacing with tongs.
Terrible Company
Terrible, Terrible, terrible experience with Dyson. Customer Services aren't helpful in anyway. Trying to blame one another. Not helpful in anyway. Claiming to send the machine in 1 business day, despite this promise haven't received any machine from last 10 days. Horrible experience terrible company, dishonest and disappointed Customer Service.
Overrated Cleaner
I really don't know why Dyson cleaners are so highly praised. Yes, the motors are powerful and seem reliable and the batteries on cordless models last well.
However the plastic parts are very flimsy, certainly not reflecting the high purchase price. I found the corded 'Animal' model extremely heavy and unwieldy while the cordless V11 constantly blocks and fails to pick up everyday dirt. The dust container and filter are easy to clean but fine dust gets into the body of the motor assembly that is not designed to be taken apart.
All in all, a very poor design.
Order was cancelled after 2 weeks
Terrible customer service, one of the worst experiences I've had. My order was meant to be delivered next day before noon, it never showed up. They kept my money for 2 weeks, provided NO updates despite me chasing the live chat most days. Appalling behaviour.
NEVER order direct from Dyson!!
Ordered a hoover for my mums birthday. £500, so not a small purchase. And they sent the free stand and not the hoover. 3 weeks later no hoover, nothing being said back from Dyson. No one can tell me why it’s not being delivered, two concerns raised and still no contact back.
I would NEVER order from them again or reccomend anyone else does. You’ll get better customer service and reliability from Argos.
Abysmal would be complimentary
My experience with Dyson customer service regarding a missing parcel has been appalling and demonstrates a complete disregard for UK consumer law.
The item was marked as “delivered” by Royal Mail, yet the delivery photo clearly shows the parcel left completely unsecured on an open driveway. It was not delivered to me, and my property has no nominated safe place. I confirmed immediately that the item was never received and Dyson advised it was delivered to a neighbour; despite the delivery photo showing evidence to the contrary I checked with neighbours who all confirmed they hadn’t taken in my package.
Over the past week, I have repeatedly contacted Dyson and have been continually fobbed off. I was initially told I would receive a resolution within 3–5 days, which never happened. After chasing this up, I was told a refund would be issued within 24–48 hours, again nothing. When I chased a second time, I was promised a resolution by the end of business today and yet again, no action has been taken.
As advised by Citizens Advice, I cited the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which clearly states that Dyson remains responsible for the goods until they are delivered into my possession.
Throughout this process, Dyson’s communication has been contradictory and misleading. In one conversation, I was told to initiate a chargeback with my credit card provider; in another, my refund/replacement request was outright denied. Despite multiple assurances of a resolution, none has materialised and I am once again being forced to chase the issue.
Due to Dyson’s ongoing failure to resolve this clear breach of contract, I have now initiated a Section 75/Chargeback dispute through my card provider. It’s deeply disappointing that a premium brand like Dyson would force customers to fight for their legal rights rather than promptly refund or replace goods that were never delivered.
Buyer beware this is the standard of post-sales support you can expect.
AVOID
AVOID! Bought an expensive vacuum, but have had nothing but issues. I've been reporting these since the vacuum was in warranty. Now it is out of warranty and still has the same issues. It barely picks up anything at all. It seems like an issue where there is nothing stopping all the collected debris from going straight into the filter, rather than a bin to empty.
But Dyson says they can't do anything because it is out of warranty, and I would have to pay to have them have a look at it.
I've already paid for the replacement parts they've suggested, which haven't fixed the issue.
I bought Dyson coanda 2x broken 2 TIMES!
I bought Dyson coanda 2x and came to me broken. I ask them for change took 7 days to come the new one came broken too. I spend a lot of money and time and 2 times was broken. Very disappointing. I asked for my money back.
Nearly £600 worth of floor cleaner and…
Nearly £600 worth of floor cleaner and just outside the 2 year warranty the battery is totally dead. We barely used it the first year as we were living between houses. Another £110 to replace the battery and that’s only got a 1 year warranty. They used to be a 5 year warranty and minimal charge for spare parts. Now its a rip off and they obviously agree with the change in how long they guarantee the product for. I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place do I throw away more money for one more years usage? I based the value of the original for it lasting 10. My original animal dyson is now 22years old and still works, but its not suitable for me in a wheelchair. This was an investment for me to have some freedom back. I should have read the reviews before I purchased again!
