⚠️ Beware of hidden subscriptions on ImmoScout24!
I only wanted to order a simple SCHUFA credit report to apply for an apartment.
Without any clear consent, ImmoScout24 automatically activated a paid subscription (MieterPlus) and tried to charge me €29.95 every month.

The cancellation process is intentionally confusing — there is no clear button to end the subscription, and you have to send a manual email to cancel it.
Luckily, my payment was declined, otherwise they would have taken my money for something I never wanted.

This is an unethical business practice that takes advantage of people who are just trying to find a place to live.
I strongly warn others: check your account immediately after using ImmoScout24 for SCHUFA or any tenant service.

Absolutely unacceptable behaviour from a platform that calls itself “Germany’s #1 real estate site.”
Shame on you, ImmoScout24.

Rental website without the most basic functions

I believe this is the only website in the European history where you can search for apartments to rent without options to filter for fully furnished apartments. And people even have to pay for it...
Searching for apartments with washing machine inside the flat would be a good idea too because Germany's shared washing rooms are extremely unique and hard limit for any other European.

Increasing amount of fraud listings

I am a customer since beginning of the year. The service started well but these last few weeks I have seen an increased amount of fraud listings. I have a filter to notify me every morning for listings posted the day before and 1 in 5 is fraud. I hope the team works in this topic because it's becoming frustrating. 40 euros a month starts to make less and less sense.

Scam alert!

I received a charge credited to my account and contacted support to understand what it was. They told me they couldn’t provide any details because the purchase was not made with my email (even though apparently it was made with my money). I opened a ticket to find out what I had supposedly bought or if I had any active subscriptions, but was told I’m not allowed to have this information.

So I cannot know what the charge is for, and I cannot know who used my money. This feels like a scam.

Stay away from this scam.

Edit after their reply: please note everyone that in private emails they use a different tone and do not 'offer' to review the case together. They just keep the money and shut you down. One more reason to stay away from this scam.

Monthly Pricing, Yearly Contract – Watch Out

I used ImmoScout24 once to generate a rental contract. What I didn’t realize at the time was that I was signing up for a full-year subscription, even though the pricing was shown as €14.90 per month and gave the impression of a monthly cancellable plan.

The 12-month commitment is hidden in fine print, and the signup interface lacks the legally required clear labeling (like “zahlungspflichtig bestellen”) that’s supposed to make paid subscriptions obvious. This kind of design feels intentionally misleading, and I wouldn't have subscribed if the terms were clearer.

I contacted customer service, offered to pay for the 3 months I used, and asked for early termination. They refused — citing their terms and completely ignoring the transparency issue.

ImmoScout24 may be legally in the clear (for now), but this feels like a trap – and judging by other reviews, I’m not the only one who was caught off guard.

If you only plan to use the platform once, double-check what you’re signing up for. And if you’re a company representative reading this: it’s time to update your UX to meet modern consumer protection expectations.

They made me pay schufa twice, lawyers involved

I filled the schufa form, paid the 30 euros and after the payment as the app was loading the schufa the app crashed. I opened the app again, thought since I'd already paid I'd get the schufa, so I filled the form again and got my schufa. Little did I know that they had tried withdrawing 30 euros again from my card for the second attempt. I only put 30 euros in my card so after the first transaction it was empty and the bank refused the second transaction. After a few months I get a letter by their lawyer saying I have to pay 50 euros(30 + lawyer expenses) for not paying my schufa. I sent them the bank screenshot showing the first successfully transaction and the second refused transaction after a minute. They didn't care and I still had to pay. Their business model is predatory, my girlfriend did the schufa too and was enrolled to the two month premium without being notified and now received a lawyer letter too asking to pay 60 euros. SCAM! Good Platform Terrible Service

“Verification” of credit/identity costs extra (SCHUFA BonitätsCheck, etc.) or is bundled into a subscription. Even the applicant portfolio with digital supporting documents is a premium feature. For basic visibility and documents, it’s essentially pay-to-play.

Annoying: minimum terms/auto-renewal you can cancel, but you’re locked in until the end of the term; many report opaque renewals and sluggish support.
On top: fake/outdated listings and few responses lots of wasted time, little outcome.

Bottom line: lots of paywalls, little real value. If you expect fair, transparent access, you’re more likely to be charged than supported.
