I ordered a mirror which I required in a timely manner and when I saw it sitting in the warehouse 3 days after order I requested cancellation, so customer service waited 2 days, when they shipped it, to respond they couldn’t cancel it now. The return instructions are almost threatening, to use their label or possibly wait months for refund “if they can find the part”. I used their label and the extra shipping box they required. They also waited until the part shipped to inform me it wasn’t what I ordered but another brand, so I was refunded $20 less than I paid and I think they use shipping as revenue. Terrible company. Stay far away

They gave me a damage tailgate that was fixable and I failed a claim with extend but they’re website was faulty and I couldn’t upload photos for my claim and then it took the long enough to fix it where it was past the 30 day of my warranty and both customer suppers were absolutely useless on helping me.

Ordered a radiator that arrived broken
Ordered a radiator that arrived broken, but luckily I had the shipping protection, but was a huge hassle to redeem. Ordered another radiator that arrived broken in the exact same spot because they don’t know how to package something correctly. Another huge hassle to get my money back which comes via a virtual Visa card which is also ridiculous! Avoid Carparts.com if you value your sanity.
Sent wrong part, only received partial refund
Ordered a part and was sent the wrong one. Called and had to speak to 3 different representatives to get a replacement order on the way. I was initially told I would have to return the part and pay for shipping before they would send a replacement. I told them that wasn’t happening since it was their mistake. Finally got a representative to put in the replacement order and told me I could keep the incorrect part. When the correct part finally showed up, it didn’t fit even though it was a “guaranteed fit”. Went through the return process to get a refund and noticed I was only getting a partial refund. Called again and was told “they forgot” to refund the remaining amount and would put in a request to for the full amount to be refunded. I think they just hope you don’t notice or will go through the effort of calling to try to get all your money back.
97 Explorer taillight assembly
I had broken my taillight assembly. Car Parts had it in stock, and very reasonably priced. My Explorer is a '97, and finding any who stocks pats for it is unusual. The purchase was easy, and it arrived very promptly. Excellent company to do business with.
Wrong part/delivered before discovery
Got part delivered before I reviewed email conformation. Wrong part so I checked email and saw it was for incorrect part. Company stonewalled me on return. Refusal to any wrongdoing on the company. Shipping is more than I paid for the part. Absolute refusal to give me any relief. Been in the business since 1970. Got more things to do than check emails. Don't do business with j.c. whitney/carparts.com. No return policy worth anything.
Hood arrived a week late AND damaged
The hood was delivered a week late and arrived damaged. Service rep was nice and helpful, but stated he could only refund $110.00. We are unhappy with the overall experience. We were getting the truck painted and it arrived late for our appointment. We actually had to pick it up from the shipping company ourselves or would have been another day late. Will never order from them again.
Zero stars
If it were possible, I would give zero stars. I purchased a car accessory that turned out to be cheaply made and defective. When I reached out for support, no one actually answered my questions—every response appeared to be an automated email that didn’t address the real issue. Despite repeatedly stating that my product was defective, the only replies I received were about delivery, not the problem itself. It’s clear the company never read my messages. Avoid at all costs—this business is a sham.
This is the worst company imaginable
This is the worst company imaginable! Go to your local auto parts store, even if it’s a national chain. If they don’t have a part, they can probably order it. At least you can talk with a live person and if a part is wrong, bring it back in person. They decide when they get the part back if they want to accept it, if they don’t, its on your dime to ship it back!
Horrible experience
Purchased fenders for my civic, both arrived damaged! They took several days to get back to me only to tell me that they would not exchange or refund! Never buying from this place again! Buyer beware!

C10 fenders and inner wheel wells.
When I ordered the driver and passenger fenders along with the inner fender wells for my 83 c10. They arrived in a timely manner. Great products and great service.
Horrible customer service and overall rip off.
I ordered new brakes for my VW. We ended up getting rid of the vehicle before the breaks arrived, so I am attempting to return them. They are still sealed in the boxes they shipped them to me. I paid $466 for the brakes, and they are only willing to give me 250 in return plus I have to pay for shipping to send them back. Another 60 bucks or so. I understand a restocking fee, but 45% restocking fee is crazy and robbery. They say they will send you a label and take it out of your refund. I have tried to reach out to get the return label via email, call and chat. Email gets no response. Phone and chat you just wait on hold for 30-45 minutes. After 45 minutes I leave. So, I can't get a return label from them. Horrible customer service and overall rip off.

Ordered SUV Door handle. When I placed order, there was shipping date was 9/13/25. My cousin came to DC from NC due to family issue. Now shipping date is 9/16/25. I called customer service few times. No one helped / cared. He unable to pick part on time. I have to ship to him. It defuses the purpose to save money or time. I have to ship him to his place after I get it. Horrible experience I ordered a set of headlights & corner light & they send me two passenger corner lights & would not make it rite by sending me a driver corner light I will not be a repeat customer.

Carparts.com. prices are pretty inexpensive but everything comes from China. Please do yourself a favor and don't buy internal engine or transmission parts. Don't waste your money buying extended warranty. And whatever you do, don't chat with customer service. Customer service is AI and not a very good one. They have limited resources. I bought an inner fender. It was tagged and labeled LF inner fender however it was a RF. I thought, ok, it was pulled wrong so I bought another LF....still got a RF. Their "customer service" couldn't wrap their head around that so I ended up buying elsewhere and decided I didn't need to do business with carparts.com. All I wanted was a little information and ended up way more frustrated than I needed to be.
Carparts sent me the wrong part, horrible Return experience
Carparts sent me the wrong part. It does not fit. The Return Process is a nightmare. They wants you to wait 2 days after you submit a return request for the "next Step" in the process. I can't get a return label. If you call the customer service number, you will either be put on hold forever, or will receive busy signals. Communications suck. Customer service sucks. DO NOT do business with this company.
