Extremely poor customer services I ordered a high quality rim lock which cost £459 and I had to wait up to six weeks which was fine as that was stated when I ordered however when it did arrive they had sent the wrong handed lock the admitted it was an issue with there coding I wasn’t happy but I thought these things happen anyway another six weeks later the correct lock turned up and I fitted it bearing in mind I am a time served joiner of over thirty years I am also an extremely good locksmith the first problem I encountered was with the spindle socket in the lock it was too small to except the spindle of the rim handle this was an easy fix I just had to file it down a little and it fitted the next problem was the key would not operate the dead bolt again an easy fix just strip lock and a gentle rub down with emery paper and it also worked fine, I then thought I would inform Broughton of Leicester as I felt this was unacceptable for any product let alone one that cost nearly £500, their response was I quote (Had we been made aware of this prior to any adjustments being made to the item we could have certainly arranged a replacement for this, but unfortunately as the item has been modified and adjusted, we would be unable to replace this at this stage I’m afraid.) I am sure had I made them aware I would have had to wait another 6 weeks, I certainly will not buy of Broughtons of Leicester they do not care about customers.

I placed a large order of door furniture, when I came home I had 13 oak doors to prepare and fit plus a multitude of other things. I itemised handles, hinges, locks and fittings but unfortunately never counted the spindles, after 2weeks of working on doors I get to the last two and realised I was 2 spindles short. I wanted to order a few spares as it’s so difficult these days getting like for like when styles change so fast, so I also needed the spindles that were missing and contacted customer services. I was told that I should have checked this before and basically it was too late now, unfortunately I didn’t realise I would have to itemise everything even down to the last screws. I spent over £1200 and they missed out two spindles, the answer I got was that it was too late now. Well I still placed my second order which thankfully has turned up with everything present. It has made me realise how even the small businesses now have lost any form of customer relations, really wish I’d checked every single part and screw on the last order but wasn’t expecting the answer I received. Lastly, my first order was placed on the 29th Nov 2024 and never received a processed email until 23rd Dec 2024 near a month after ordering.

After asking if something could be done about this, CS agent Louise didn't bother to give any compensation nor kind gesture, even after I was insisting on placing a new order (because I simply like their products). Will never order again.
I'd suggest the owner of this company to take a great look at the way their CS agents handle chats and e-mails.

Stunning work of art and workmanship for a handmade lamp made in the UK with US specification to work on American outlet. Well worth the money and waiting time as I prefer not to buy from Europe or American businesses that sold out and/or have offshored to Communist/Mongrel countries, Mexico, and Central/S. America. Thanks Abby, team, and for those who have kept the traditional workmanship of British made superior quality lighting alive and for the honest communication...I love the fact, I can use non-LED, Incandescent Light Bulb.

The door portiere I bought is very good but what makes the difference here is the exceptional customer service. When a couple of small hook screws didn’t fit properly, they didn’t just brush me off or send the same poor screws again, they admitted there was a problem with some of them and were replacing them but didn’t have any in my colour - i didn’t care about the colour so they sent the replacements immediately and they arrived the next day. I called them a couple of times with other questions and the staff were always SO helpful and always came up with a solution that worked. Sometimes it can be hit and miss buying from the internet but this is a company I will return to and would definitely recommend, just because they really are so responsive and helpful. (Good stock range too!)
Wonderful customer sevice - not only did they make and send me a short video of how the door curtain rod (portiere) worked before I ordered but no quibble when a small part was faulty and will be replaced. Have yet to hang curtain, but very pleased.
Order arrived quickly. The packaging was excellent and very long brass curtain rods and fittings arrived in perfect condition.
Brass finials purchased were really good quality at a great price and service was excellent, order delivered within a few days.
Having searched for some time now for settee castors, I came across Broughton’s website and having read the reviews, I decided to purchase.
Ordered on the Friday and arrived on the Saturday, amazing service and look exactly as they do on the website, very nice solid brass castors.
Can be bought as a single item as opposed to a set which I found to be excellent especially when you only need so many.

these days. I had a problem with a faulty "push" on the lovely bell push purchased and Gill solved the problem! I think most companies will have a problem with a product at some point, but it is how you deal with the problem that counts and makes you want to return to shop!

Broughtons failed to provide proper documentation required for customs for weeks, DPD sent the goods back to the warehouse in England. NO ANSWER to my emails, no update. MONEY GONE, GOODS NOT DELIVERED! Very disappointed..
