They just want your money. Don‘t care about customer service, full with ads and spam you with offers… Very annoying, inconvenient and shady.

Garbage
At some point my E-mails just started to not go through some spam filters of companies and I was forced to switch. The website is flooded with nonsensical ads and there are tons of better providers, just don't use this.
Wouldnt Recommend
The Free Mail works just fine, but when it comes to buying services like webhosting then I recommend you to look elsewhere

Don't risk and don't trust products related to 1&1 Mail & Media GmbH.
1&1 Mail & Media GmbH is a group of companies that own WEB.de and gmx.de and gmx.com - they are different companies but they are part of the same group.
After ~6 months of using mail without any problems I got banned for no reason on gmx.com. Problem is that I kept migration service documents there and now when I lost access I have to re-apply for residence permit. 2 years lost because of the GMX. Support is neither answering, nor trying to do anything for months.
They can't even do email forwarding to my other e-mail. Tried calling to gmx.de support but was directed to use gmx.com support.
I'm just broken that one simple company can ruin your life without even trying to help. If God is real please help.
Terrible service
Terrible service. No contact to humans possible . I have been a paying memebr for nearly 2 years and today cancelled my contract 7 € a month . Now the two system authentification they bought in should have the function " trust this device " but it doesnt work . The Free mail has only 1 GB of email storage . Yahoo and AOL unlimited

Receiving Garbage emails from this email domain. So far only two that are SPAM/Phishing emails from some random adult dating site. They have been forwarded to two government websites where these types of emails can be reported so that they can be investigated and email filters have been set up to send all from this email domain to my Trash Folder where they belong. They were also flagged as phishing emails too.

Horrible E-mail provider.
As I work in Germany, I needed a German e-mail. I haven't logged in for a few weeks and was shocked that not only were all my e mails deleted, but no e mail were received. Furthermore the provider is purposefully buggy since they want you to pay for their "premium" version. No thanks!

So when you've progressed in whatever game account you've paid for, they'll come use the original email address to recover the account & resell it!

Completely agree with previous poor ratings. Even as a Premium client (have been paying 60 EUR/year for about 20 years, sadly) you get what I would call an unhelpful customer service, with their technicians obviously assuming it is day one you as a client are dealing with a PC a/o website.
I don´t mind them not having modernised their site, and I don´t care about any of their offers other than the email handling. Can only say customer service for paying clients is APPALLING.

If you want to use a "service" without service, you are at the right place with Web.de. Because of their own technical error I've lost important e-mails. As an answer the've sent me an automated e-mail with lots of bla-bla from their FAQ site with "hints" that of course don't apply and dont solve their own technical error. BTW, I've been wit Web.de over 15 years and was really satisfied so far and wanted to use it as a Premium member but our relationship is obviously over .

Support e-mail answers with a generic copy-paste message - useless. I don't want to call a phone number and pay 5 euro per call, I can suffice with e-mail support but it's useless. Also, this website deletes e-mails after 6 months of inactivity (who in the right mind does this)... so I don't recommend.
Hackable and wasting your time
Easy hackable. Besides, if you dont get the premium, you will have to Login two times. Login in once, it sends you too an "spend money or return to login page". From solid mail to TRASH

Poor technical and customer service
Have been a member for many years, even paying 60 EUR of annual Club membership fee.
Have been forced for weeks now to log on twice ("Bitte melden Sie sich erneut an"), despite me leaving my account by logging off, as required.
Tried to call support team today, expecting at least a reasonable customer service, and after about 25ms wait someone (technical service) picked up the phone, who seemed unable to offer a solution and, as I insisted, he -obviously very much to my surprise- put the phone done.
Very poor (and expensive) technical support/customer service for one of the apparently most popular email providers in Germany!!
If I had not been with them for years incl. files and folders I would have looked elsewhere for a long time.
I furthermore don´t understand why one cannot simply contact them by email, which you would expect to be the most natural way to contact an e-mail address provider.
Well, I assume if you guys have got the chance to chose a different provider, I would for sure not hold you back....
I can't say anything bad
I can't say anything bad about web.de, it's just a functional private post box. But I used to use Club membership, this is a major difference to none paid free mail.

This is the second time I have received an email from mail.de saying I am on a blacklist and I am not.
Worse they do not give you a way to reply to them and resolve the issue....
I am glad I do not use them and never will.
