I wish I'd known to read these reviews before I ordered. It took 3 weeks for the engine to arrive. When it did there were several broken off bolts in the exhaust manifold, that I spent an entire day trying to get out (and could not). When I called to complain I was told...."That cannot be because every engine is examined for quality before it's shipped out..." Huh, she is telling me I'm not seeing what I am seeing..... then multiple emails to them have gone unreplied to.
Ordered Truck engine on line
I purchased a Truck Engine from SWENGINES on 7/30/25, they said it would be delivered 7 to 14 days,it showed up 8/20/25.

Subject: Extremely Disappointed with Warranty Handling – Transmission
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the way SWEngines has handled my warranty issue.
I submitted a warranty claim on August 19, 2025, and the only acknowledgment I received was an automated email stating that my information had been received. After that, I did not hear anything until September 3, 2025—over two weeks later—when I received a follow-up email stating that my ticket had been closed, with no explanation provided.
During that time, I made numerous attempts to call and follow up, only to be told repeatedly that my warranty was still "under review." After finally receiving the vague "ticket closed" email, I had to call your company again to get any actual information—at which point I was placed on hold for nearly an hour before being told that the part I needed was not covered under warranty.
I was informed that the issue was with the valve body sensor, which, to my understanding, is an internal component of the transmission—the very product I purchased under warranty. I fail to see how an internal transmission component could be excluded from warranty coverage.
To make matters worse, after further investigation by a certified mechanic at Pep Boys, I was informed that:
• The valve body sensor was indeed faulty.
• The bypass plug was corroded and missing a pin.
• The transmission didn't have a transmission filter.
These are all clear signs of either a defective product or poor assembly and inspection prior to sale.
Given all of the above, I am extremely dissatisfied—not just with the product, but with your lack of communication, the unreasonable delay in resolution, and your unwillingness to take accountability. You were quick to take my money but failed to provide the expected level of service when issues arose.
As a result, I will never purchase from SWEngines again and will be reporting this experience to the Better Business Bureau and other relevant platforms to ensure other potential buyers are warned.
I hope this serves as a wake-up call to improve your warranty response process and customer service.

Please do not buy from this company if I could give 0 stars. I would, they will take your money immediately. Even if they don't have your motor in stock, they take several months to ship claiming it's in the shipping process. However, that's false, the motors, they do ship our junk, nothing but issues. I asked for my money back. It took them months to refund me. Also taking a 25% restocking charge on a motor they never had in the beginning to restock.

Received my engine yesterday with a hole in the oil pan and no oil in the engine. Haven't removed it from the crate or even taken the plastic wrap off. Called their customer service department and they said I have to file a warranty claim....for an engine that came damaged. However, I can not file a warranty claim on their site because I haven't activated my warranty, which can only be done after installing it and sending them photos.

Every review is spot on. This place is a complete scam! Received my engine in decent shape, but upon installation it was bad in less than 200 miles! The website stated my engine had 33,000 miles, which is why I spent more than I would've on others. They must do bearing swaps or some other shady work and ship out. All work was performed by a shop/mechanic and once I submitted a claim, SW engines stopped responding completely for my refund. The shop called a dozen times as well. Once torn down, 2 of the 4 crank bearings were toast. They have 1 number, and 1 number only to call into and was never transferred to a manager. Once they have your money, you're on your own. This place needs to be shut down. I'm out thousands of dollars in labor costs that they also claim to cover.

Terrible experience and still going through it. Waited over 10 weeks for a v10 motor, when it finally came while still on the crate I found 5 Exhaust studs are broken, this was existing damage and not caused by shipping as the studs were rusted and have been in this condition for quit some time before the motor was removed from the donor vehicle. I have been on the phone with this company over 17 times with a ridiculous wait time each time. I have submitted the the warranty claim so many times I know it by heart. They claim to not be receiving it, I have also emailed photos and they are claiming not to be receiving it. I will never recommend this company!! Be aware!! My next call is to My attorney as they are committing fraud. They are lying about not receiving the claim information because I have sent it to myself on another email.

STAY AWAY!! Baught an engine for my 2012 Mercedes ml 350 engine was garbage upper oil pan leaking and knocking. Spent $3200 to install and now claiming they wont reimburse the labor as states on their website. On top of that they want me to spend more money to remove the POS engine out of my car so they can pick it up which will cost me another $$1000 to do so! It’s a joke! Do not spend even a dollar with this company!

Buyer beware!!! These guys are probably the single worst customer service online. Purchased a transmission, had it installed at a local shop, transmission didn't work. Called to get my money back and arrange for them to pick up the faulty transmission & refund my money. I was told they would review the case and it would take a week or two. You have only 3 days from purchase to activate the warranty to make the claim. Called several times and got a hostile and indifferent rep that was very condescending and she put me on hold every time, wait times were up to 21 minutes until they hung up.
*Update- REPORTED THEM TO THE FTC AND BBB. GOT MY CASE RESOLVED AND MONEY BACK FROM MY BANK.

Worst business ever. Sent me a motor that won't even work in my truck and not to mention it has several broken parts that of course wasn't covered u see warranty. I have been getting the run around on they ing to get this resolved saying I will get a call and nothing.
