A CON DO NOT BUY IT!!

I’m a qualified electrician in the UK with my own business and I can tell you this item is a rip off DO NOT BUY!! you will be £40 worse off and you will not see any difference in your bills. This is (if it works) a filter plug which may offer some protection to sensitive electronic items. But these days any item of its worth will have built in filters/suppressors. This needs to be removed from advertising it’s one up from fraud!

StoppWatt is a scam and you wont ger refunded by them…

Last Dec I saw on Facebook a big sale on StoppWatt It said %85 off so I had this senior moment and ordered it. Then I saw it alot cheaper on Amazon, So when I recieved the parcel, I called the company to return it for a full refund, The lady answered and she said her boss said just keep it and I will get my refund I said, "I didnt expect that" Two weeks later no refund I called them and she said yes I got a full refund Dec 11 2024 . I checked my credit statrement Two weeks later I called again, they said yes I got the refund. I decided to send it back using UPS . Then a few weeks later I wrote to my credit card. They asked for all the details and I sent them the UPS receipts and when I contacted StoppWatt. It took a few months but I got my $117 refund. So that company lies and product I read does not work

Potentially Dangerous

I've just come across their on-line ad. The 'photo' accompanying the ad headline '...Cuts Your Electric Bill By Up To 40%' is of a UK style plug with the cable entry on the pin side of the plug, the earth wire (green/yellow) going to a terminal marked L, the neutral wire (blue) wiring to the position normally for the earth, no live wire (brown) at all, an uninsulated wire wrapped around the neutral and no strain relief for the incoming cable. I suspect the photo has been AI generated by someone with zero electrical knowledge or knowledge of UK electrical installations. Who knows what is inside the StopWatt device? Try it, what's the worst that could happen?

Impossible

It's impossible for this product to influence an electricity supply. It's only influence is a risk to fire.

Stop watt

Stop Watt is a complete scam. It did ABSOLUTELY nothing to lower my electricity bill. It is nothing but BS.

IMO StopWatt is a scam

I too stumbled on the StopWatt online ads. Like another reviewer, I too have BS and MS degrees in EE & have been a registered PE for over 40 years. Based on results & analyses by other reviewers, it should be obvious to anyone with half a brain that this device is a “snake oil” scam IMO. Maybe buyers should invest in Theranos stock instead. If Holmes spent time in jail, why not StopWatt founders also?
The larger issue is that with the FTC and other watchdog agencies now gone under Trump, no US agency remains to confront scammers such as StopWatt. Everyone must pay attention to TrustPilot for legitimate, credible, unbiased opinions. Had government agencies truly succeeded in their mission to stop scammers, StopWatt would no longer remain in business.
Perhaps the reviewer from Ireland is correct in that StopWatt is no longer offered there by amazon or ebay, but amazon.com does in fact still offer StopWatt in the US. Search there & see for yourself!
Best advice to potential buyers is caviat emptor: buyer beware. IMO stay away from StopWatt.

This is a really shady company

This is a really shady company. Their whole purpose is to make you gullible enough to purchase a product that doesn’t work.

The StopWatt claims that it can reduce electrical consumption by up to 90%, by aligning harmonics, etc. The proprietors of the scam say they base their technology off of recently discovered work from Nicola Tesla, and even go as far as using AI to have Elon Musk pose with the product.

I think this is the most dubious product I have ever bought. The company refuses to provide an address or telephone number, and only replies to emails every three weeks! And that with a batch email! I hope no one buys a StopWatt and that the company is sued for racketeering and false advertising.

I got my money back

I got my money back! I was told to keep the “device” so I dismantled it to see the component parts, diode, resistor, led, black box full of white powder that’s it. The uk plug is 3 pin but not as it should be - all three pins are the same length, in my opinion it at best won’t work and at worst is just dangerous, if you want to save electricity turn off appliances and fit timer switch to heating etc. good luck. ps instructions in a kind of chinglish.

After watching the ad for this product…

After watching the ad for this product and listening to Mr Musk..I find that he Elon Musk could be right! In regards to saving us money by using his product, he claims that PG&E
had made attempts to block or ban this product? Untrue? Don't know, what I do know its very possible that PG&E did make this attempt. So I decided to spend 20.00 on the product, I ordered the 4 pk. Small price too pay just to see if it would work?
We all know how the media works, they will say anything like in this forum, it's a scam etc..
Well find out for yourself, invest 20 dollars and confirm to yourself..I do not believe in the media, I believe in myself to verify. If it doesn't make a change what have I lost? 20.00

Just to inform you (but I guess you already know) your product has been classified as “unsafe” by Uk and Eu trading standards and has been de-listed by eBay and Amazon due an independent survey by “Which” magazine.
These units were technically assessed and found to be made of unregulated materials and did not effect the electricity consumption either up or down but did pose a serious risk of fire.
These units are a scam and a danger to the general public.
Please withdraw these from sale and my four units are now going in the bin.
