Rubbish.... a pair of expensive walking boots that should have lasted years wore out within 12 months. Stitching broken, soles worn out. Don't waste you money.

Made in Vietnam
I recently purchased a pair of Mojito Trail GTX shoes online and noticed a "Made in Vietnam" label on the inside. Whilst I appreciate that it is some years since all Scarpa products were made in Italy, I was unaware that they have moved production out of Europe. I contacted them to let them know that they do not advertise this fact and that this had left me concerned that I had effectively bought Scarpa copies, but they could not even be bothered to reply. Be aware
Rubbish quality

They don't seem to be as good as they used to be!
Have worn Scarpa shoes for years and they were great. I still have a pair that I regularly wear from seven years ago. In April this year I bought a pair of Rapid XT and within a couple of months the shoe was starting to wear where my trousers rub against them (no fraying to the trousers). Now the sole is noticeably wearing down after regular but low level walks. Not sure if Scarpa have sold out or manufacturing in different factories but on the basis of these latest shoes, I will not rush to buy Scarpa again.
Scarpa Mescalito GTX Re-sole
I’ve had a pair of Scarpa Mescalito GTX for a couple of years, they’re the best shoes I’ve ever owned.
The soles were very worn through but Scarpa were no longer doing a colour I wanted. Then I found out that they could be re-soled.
It took a couple of months but they’re like new! Thanks for a great service. I got my favourite shoes back.
Guarantee is a total waste of time!!
I bought a pair of Ladies Terra GTX in October 24 as I have worn the same model for over 20 years and usualy get 3/4 winter wears out of them.In march 25 one boot started to take in water so I returned them to LD MOUNTAIN Centre (who actualy were totaly disinterested) and they were sent away to be checked. I received an email explaining they wouldnt refund or replace under guarantee as the fault lay in the way the boot was worn. Maybe my nails pierced the lining or they just didnt fit. Well I as I had done for many years had the boots fitted at LD MOUNTAIN centre and had used the same size and would have known if they didnt fit. I then sent a complaint which was forwarded to Scarpa who replied that it was the fit of the boot, maybe i used a different thickness of socks when fitted, - I used the type I wear obviously, oh or maybe I just hadnt fastened the laces tight enough well I am sure by now I am aware if a boot wasnt laced tight enough
I but either way the Guarantee wasnt valid.
I love scarpa boots but the insoles…
I love scarpa boots but the insoles fall apart, its happened on all the pairs iv had. I think it's time to try something new
Been wearing scarpas for many years
Been wearing scarpas for many years, loved the durability. Bought a replacement pair 12 months ago and sole has completely lifted off after very little use. Scarpas quality appears to have declined
Update; To their credit the store replaced them free of charge, no questions asked.
They Should Change The Brand Name To ‘Crapas’
I bought a pair of Rush GTX in 2022 and the mesh started tearing after two months. Decided to give them another go with some Vortex GTX but the left shoe leaked like a sieve from day one. Not fit for purpose, rubbish shoes.
Scarpa Cyrus gtx men's boots
purchased a pair of Scarpa Cyrus gtx men's boots in Aug. 2024, however the seam stitching split in may 2025. reading reviews this appears to be a common fault on these boots. The retailer exchanged them after some argument on wear and tear, however these are no where near as good as the Scarpa boots i have had over the decades
Wow! Outstanding boots, Outstanding Customer Service.
I love my Scarpa boots, they are really old (maybe 10 years), still 100% waterproof and serving me well. I recently felt something like a tiny stone somewhere in the insole under my big toe. I couldn’t find it when feeling for it with my hand and as the insoles are stuck down I wasn’t sure what to do. I contacted Scarpa asking them for advice. Without hesitation they offered me a pair of new insoles free of charge. How amazing is that. Fantastic boots and outstanding customer service too!
Boots split. Scarpa won’t honour guarantee
My 18 month old scarpa boots split on the front side next to the seam. I see from other reviews this is a common fault. The boots were within the 2 year guarantee and well looked after. They fit well and were extremely comfortable from the start. I returned to scarpa for investigation under their 2 year warranty and was told they didn’t fit me correctly so they were unable to offer replacements or repair. I see they use this excuse a lot when boots split and they came to this conclusion without seeing the boots on my feet. These are expensive boots, they fitted me perfectly and should last a lot longer than the 18 months I had them. The warranty of 2 years seems pointless if they won’t honour it and the boots are not fit for purpose. I was offered a 40% discount if I bought another pair which I won’t be using.
Falling Apart!!
I loved my Scarpa Rush GTX shoes but they have holes appearing in the material after 12 months - I have only used them for very light trails!!
Great boots and great customer service
Bought a fab pair of boots a few years ago, used sporadically for about 18 months when I had an issue with them, contacted customer services who couldn't have been better. So helpful, patient and a great outcome.
Would recommend Scarpa time and time again. Will also be reluctant to buy anything but Scarpa due to the brilliant service.
Vapor S climbing shoes got busted after 4 months
Bought a pair Vapor S climbing shoes for bouldering indoors and the tip on the right one got busted after about light 15 sessions. Contacted customer support and almost immediately got an immediate conclusion from them that the shoe is worn out and it happened due to my way of climbing, practically refusing to take them back for proper inspection and forcing me to resole at my own expense. Never buying anything from Scarpa again!
Great boots and even better customer…
Great boots and even better customer service - the boots needed to bed in, and the team at Scarpa UK were full of suggestions for how to get the best fit (lacing, insoles, stretching etc).
I bought a pair of hiking boots
I bought a pair of hiking boots. The shoes fell apart within the first trip and the company said I’ve walked too much. It’s a joke
Great company making great boots
Great company making great boots. My most recent pair of Scarpa walking boots are 4-5 years old but are very well looked after. Imagine my shock when during the last clean and treat session I noticed the tread detaching from the sole. A quick email to Scarpa and a postage paid box arrived and I sent my boots off for assessment. They've just been returned, full repairs to both boots and no charge. Great communication with them too. Service beyond expectations, well done Scarpa. They'll be my go to company for my next purchase.
Really disappointed
Really disappointed, bought a pair from Cotswold outdoor and initially loved them, my go to shoes. Now I hike a lot, within 9 months, leather had split, I returned them and instead of a refund I asked for a new pair same size ect, as I felt these were great shoes..
2nd pair split after same time scale 9 months, same place, still within the warranty I was happy to replace them.
This time I was told they didn't fit me properly, although they were fitted in shop by trained staff and felt really comfortable, also added they weren't dryed properly! Scarpa say they were dryed in direct heat. No refund or replacement.
Conclusion, if you hike a lot these aren't for you, they will not last and Scarpa will not honour the warranty.
Do not buy, unless all you want is something comfortable to go shopping in.
I was refused direct contact with Scarpa. So have had to goto reviews, which I never do before trying to rectify problems.
I hope now Scarpa will contact me, with so kind off compensation.
My review will be updated when this is done.
I don’t understand the bad reviews
I don’t really understand all the bad reviews. I’ve got 2 pairs of Scarps shoes, and I’m really happy with the boots.
My trail shoes the Scarpa Rush 2 are very comfy, and my hiking boots Scarps terra gortex are also great! Waterproof and my feet don’t feel too tired after a day’s walking.
Great customer service from Jack at…
Great customer service from Jack at Scarpa UK. After the original soles on my 24-year-old Scarpa SL boots finally debonded this year, Lancashire Sports Repairs Ltd (one of the companies Scarpa recommend for repairs in the UK) resoled them. Because I was so pleased that the boots had been given a new lease of life, I e-mailed Scarpa to let them know, including a bit about all the places the boots have taken me. To my surprise, Scarpa then sent me some free gifts, which was a lovely surprise. What great service & what incredible durability of the SLs!
