Set $200 on Fire Instead

I recently procured a CarDr report on a car that I was thinking of purchasing from a dealer in another state. I paid $200 for the assurance that I was buying an operable car in good condition. Without a good report, I would NOT have moved forward with the sale. I had the car shipped to me via a licensed and insured professional car transportation company. The very first day time I drove the car 20 miles to get it registered and inspected, it broke down. It is undriveable. The onboard diagnostic tool that is used during the state inspection process yields multiple error messages indicating multiple problems. I had to take the car to a transmission specialist who is diagnosing the car on day two of ownership. I'm looking at possibly having to replace the transmission. This will cost thousands of dollars. I called CarDr to ask for a refund and they refused. They gave me a spiel about used cars being prone to breaking down at any time, etc. I felt like I was being gaslit. Why pay for an inspection if the report is ultimately meaningless? Why be in the business of inspecting cars if you don't stand by your work? I could just as easily set $200 on fire and gotten the same result.

Buying a used car is stressful - Checklist Based Car Inspection & OBD Check Helps

Buying a Used car is stressful - Great Process, Good Report & OBD Check helped me a lot.
1) Checklist Based - Vehicle Inspection Process: the CarDr.com Inspector App Based Inspection makes the inspectors follow a tight process instead of a random walk.
2) Real time Order Assignment: The last inspection company i used took 5 day to get me a Vehicle Inspection report. CarDr took 24 hrs!
3) On Board Diagnostic Check: Its outstanding value to learn what issues the car has - hitorically
4) CarFax damage report: is included free in every inspection! so you know past problems - CarDr.com says they are connected real time to CarFax!
5) Car Inspection Report was super easy to read and allowed me to negotiate a better purchase price.

i was most impressed with the "Science of Car Inspection" of CarDr.com
