BYD LOOKERS SHEFFIELD - Fantastic experience dealing with Coby , he was so informative , helpful and pleasant,.Had I gone with a purchase of the Sealion , I most definately would of purchased from Coby, it was just unfortunate that a friend told me to look at another make and model and due to the monthly pcp, it worked out over two hundred pounds cheaper and over the 48 months that’s a massive saving .Best experience I’ve had dealing with car sales, Coby tried everything to secure the deal, but at the end of the day BYD couldn’t compete , even though Coby tried all options

Can you give less than one star for a dealership?
Stradstone BYD Milton Keynes have been appalling over that last 12 months and now do not answer my emails. I’m sure they view me as an awkward customer but I just can’t get a satisfactory resolution. Each time it goes back to them, more problems occur. I feel absolutely defeated by their inadequacy.

Not as fancy as Tesla

BYD surprised me, quiet, solid and the battery life is better than I expected. For the price, you get a lot. They’re deintlyt catching up fast, future looks bright for them.

I recently purchased a brand-new BYD…

I recently purchased a brand-new BYD Shark and was very disappointed to discover that the air conditioning was not working within the first week. When I contacted the dealership, I was advised to wait 15 days for an inspection. After finally taking the car in, it was kept for a full day without being offered a courtesy car, or any alternative transport.

When I collected the car, I was told the issue was due to “no gas.” Since then, it has been over 10 days, and I continue to receive the same response that the Ringwood dealership is waiting on BYD head office. In the meantime, I am still driving a new vehicle without air conditioning, with no clear resolution in sight.

This experience has been very frustrating, and the lack of timely support and after-sales service is extremely concerning. For a brand-new car, I expected far better.

I've bought my car from the BYD @ Bury…

I've bought my car from the BYD @ Bury and picked it up last week. Been dealing with Hasan, all went smoothly great team to deal with.

I've been to two others BYD showrooms one in Wigan and the other in Stockport. On one in Wigan said hello and got totally ignored so walked out about 20 mins.

BYD Stockport doesn't have enough staff and you are left waiting and no one replies to your email so I've decided to take my business else where.

My last car was a Toyota and I have been with them for many years can never fault there excellent customer service.

Imagine, you buy a new car and while on the way to pick it up, full of enthusiasm, you get a phone call to say that your new car has gained a 4 inch scratch in one of the doors, you still have to buy the thing with a promise that BYD will fix it. You take the car back to BYD and they get a mobile scratch company in to do the repair. We now go from a 4 inch scratch to the top half of a door panel with swirl marks, overspray and dust everywhere. Am I supposed to be impressed....NOT ON YOUR NELLIE!!!
And after complaining, they want to send the same repairers to my house to probably make it worse.
BYD Sealion 7 Excellence....I rest my case, I'm spitting nails and to think I traded an excellent Tesla Model Y AWD Long Range just to get all of this hassle.

My car went into a BYD service area for not charging 8th August. Received the car back from the service centre with RED SRS lights on. Car went to a different centre on 15th September for them to contact me and say your SRS light is on as an update. Today 24th still awaiting a technical response by BYD to see what they can do to try fixing the problem

Caveat Emptor- Sealion 7 Performance…

I collected a new Sealion 7 Performance on 31 July 2025 from the Clayton distribution centre. The am radio did not work. I took it to the distribution centre, and then the Waverley service centre on 11 August, but neither could fix the fault. The service centre booked the car in for 11 September to repair the radio.

On that visit they could not fix the fault. The am sound is still so bad on am it cannot be used, so the radio is not fit for purpose. A check of two other Sealions in the lot showed the same fault. I was told if I was not happy to go to Consumer Affairs.

Not being able to fix a fault does not mean there is no fault. The car was sold to me with a faulty sound system, and it is likely the problem is common across the model.

After this experience I do not trust BYD as a brand, their quality control, or their service.

BYD Lakeside - atrocious customer service

BYD Lakeside, giving them a 1 star is generous, they should look at themselves in the mirror and think about how they treat customers and whether it’s worth the money you’re trying to make for a company that will spit you out in a heartbeat and replace you like you’re nothing. Rahul and his team need to get their nonsense together, there is nothing better than a satisfied customer as opposed to one that you have mugged over because of some extra money or commission.

I went on a Sunday to view a part exchange Tiguan R-Line they had up on Autotrader, the car was in the middle of 40 cars that had been delivered earlier in the day. No test drive available but saw the car and told Tayo I wanted to buy it. He said door dent marks needed to be fixed so I waited.

Wednesday first thing in the morning, I was told the door dents were repaired, I wanted to reserve the car for a fee, Tayo said don’t worry, I’ve taken the car off the market, come tomorrow and it will be ready for you. So I take the afternoon off from work the next day (Thursday) and make my way to the branch at 2pm. I get a call as I’m on my way, ‘someone has put down a finance offer on the car’ but for me to come down. Not at any point told BYD accepted the offer.

I get there, test drive the car, Tayos all fine, tells me il give you a minute and then the manager, Rahul comes out and goes his worker accepted the finance offer on it yesterday! Absolutely ridiculous. I get told I don’t need to reserve it (I was willing to pay), I get told to come to my appointment even though they knew a finance offer was accepted, I take time off work, I spend money and time to get down there, they make me do a test drive AND then they say I can’t buy the car!? I’m sorry but that’s outright and blatant lying and it’s obvious why, your finance deal doesn’t go through, then I’m the back up. Rahul also had the cheek to say a finance deal is the same as cash price, like come on, what world do you live on!? Stop the lying and treat your customers with respect.

Your customer service was appalling, your phone services (took forever on many days to get through to anyone) and in general, the service in this branch is diabolical. It’s a joke, there were so many excuses on the day rather than just saying we messed up big time or even the truth, the finance offers are more money than cash buyers, higher interest rates as opposed to cash offer.

Anyways stay clear unless you like being lied to and given false promises, Tayo, Rahul and BYD Lakeside, not good enough. And BYD in general, if you want to fix this, reach out to me!

Great car, terrible service

Great car, shame about the after sales service. In fact, even the pre-sales was dodgy given the sales person insisted on taking a photo of not just my licence but my medicare card before my test drive. SO DODGY! I have now been waiting 3 weeks for my app to be activated. I keep getting given a different time frame and no one seems prepared to take ownership of the issue. What's the most infuriating thing is that I am the one calling for an update, the communication from BYD is non existent.
