eBay going downhill fast

As a professional business seller with an actual physical retail store, our own website, and shops on various marketplaces, I can tell you eBay is going downhill quickly!

1) Sales WAY down.
2) Customer Support almost non-existent now.
3) Fees are UP.
4) Seller Protection is a 50/50 gamble.

It is now my least favorite platform to sell on.

Mixed experience.

UPDATE 5/1/2024:
My services were restored this afternoon around 1PM ET... so I had no services for over 24 hours. I received an email from someone at IONOS today, and they were quite apologetic and have credited my account for the disruption. This never should have happened, but at least they have fixed it and also compensated my for the trouble.

First Strike... which counts as TWO STRIKES it's so bad:

I'm 2 weeks late paying the bill because I didn't realize it was auto-billing to a card that had just expired. They emailed me a final notice this morning, and by noon services were already suspended!! I logged in and updated the payment method, but there is no way to have it bill right now. I called up and was told service would be restored automatically withing 24 hours... unacceptable! They've shut off my business email, I cannot receive or send ANY emails as relate to my business!

They transferred me to "customer retention" and that rep assured me services would be restored within 2 hours... that was over 4 hours ago, they are still not restored.


Third Strike:

Just try to cancel a service... you have to call them to do so. It will be cancelled over the phone, and then an hour later you will get an email saying that they have cancelled your cancellation because you must have made a mistake... I did not see this email several months ago and have been paying $9/mo for a webbuilder service that I do not use! Realized today that it's still part of my 'contract' and called up to cancel it again... about an hour later I got the above referenced email saying they've cancelled my cancellation request...

"This is Mona from the Sales and Cancellations Department. When I double checked your Mywebsite creator contract, I could see that there is a website associated in that. So what I did so that I cannot ruin your website, I revoked the cancellation and make it active again."


I'm just about to call them again and start screaming!

Charged me DOUBLE what they said they would

I went to cancel my subscription before it renews, and during the automated process my reason was "Too Expensive". I was then offered the option to renew it for only $54 for the year. I accepted this offer and made the payment... but I was charged the FULL $99 + tax instead of the special offer of $54!!! I contacted customer support and they said they need to escalate this to a different department and i MAY hear back from them today.... This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, and now I am done with this company forever! I am going to call the bank and initiate a charge-back.

FedEx is THE WORST

FedEx is THE WORST! I had a priority overnight delivery to my business, and they came before I open. I contacted FedEx and they would not re-deliver, but assured me they would come next day during my normal business hours. Well, today is the next day and once again they tried to deliver 40 MINUTES before my business opens! Again they will not redeliver, will not contact the driver, will not even put me in contact with the local hub where it's coming from. DO NOT USE FEDEX!!!!!

Shady & Dishonest

I had a Fortiva credit card through Bank of Missouri and I closed the account last year. They've continued to charge me a $10 monthly maintenance fee because I've been paying it off and maintaining a balance. A few days ago they also charged me an annual fee... for a closed account that I cannot use anymore! I called up and said remove the fee and I will pay off the balance in full right now. They refuse to remove the annual fee. I filed a complaint with the BBB and am also filing a complaint with the NYS AG office against this business.

ALSO: This businesses parent company (Bank of Missouri) has lost it's BBB accredation!!

Dishonest and shady!
