Good product spoiled by poor management.

I have found this to be a good product spoiled by sharp sales practices. If its management was as good as its product, it would not have so many 1 star ratings. It is not possible to activate the product without giving all card details and accepting auto-renewal. They are then free to escalate the renewal price without your consent. Auto-renew can be cancelled but there is no clear way to do that other than wasting time contacting them directly. There is then no clear way to tell if that request to cancel has been carried out. My instruction to remove card details for extra security has still not been done.

Deceptive Auto-Renewal and Deliberate Cancellation Obstruction

Bitdefender has entirely undone any positive sentiment I held for their product with extremely deceptive tactics regarding auto-renewal and pricing.

The Core Issue: The service was set to auto-renew without my explicit consent, and critically, the proposed renewal charge was 42% higher than the price currently advertised to new customers. This predatory pricing strategy for loyal users is unacceptable.

The Obstruction: I immediately attempted to cancel the auto-renewal, but discovered the cancellation option is unavailable within the application. I then tried to cancel via my account portal on a mobile browser, but the crucial cancellation pop-up window failed to display or load correctly, preventing access to the final cancellation button.

Deliberate UI Failure: I moved to my laptop, but the same issue persisted: the pop-up window on the cancellation page did not display the required buttons and would not scroll. As a professional who works in the technology sector, I recognized this as more than a simple bug. I had to manually reduce my Chrome browser's default zoom setting to 75% (Ctrl + Minus) before the cancel button finally became visible and accessible.

I have screen recordings that clearly demonstrate this deliberate obstruction. Given the main Bitdefender application interface works flawlessly, the systemic failure of the only page dedicated to cancelling auto-renewal suggests this is a predatory and deceitful design choice, intended solely to prevent customers from opting out and to force them into an overpriced renewal.

This behavior confirms they prioritize "scamming" existing customers over maintaining consumer trust.

Great company to deal with

I really like Bitdefender as being a "set it and forget it" type of protection. I recently had renewed but then the automated renewal went through as well. I contacted the payment company and they put in the request to Bitdefender for the refund. It was quickly reversed by Bitdefender and I am still covered by the original payment I made.

Excellent Support

I am having an issue with what appear to be false positives so contacted Bitdefender Support. The support team responded quickly and are being very meticulous in following this up. They make it very easy for me to generate the reports that they need and to upload them for analysis.
Additional Note:
I have now received a satisfactory explanation regarding the files in question and guidance on avoiding future issues. As such I am very pleased with the support from Bitdefender.

I love the product...but

I love the product. I was using a different named product, but decided to go with Bitdefender. I'm so glad I did. There is something that I'm dealing with though. I find that sometimes Bitdefender will shut off my internet connection for whatever reason. It has to be the product as I've never had this situation 'til I installed Bitdefender. I have to restart the computer, then once everything is loaded, I can use the internet. What is the fix?

Bitdefender provides highly effective ensemble of program apps in its various security suites & can be easily setup - per my end-user experience..but the definitive reason I chose Bitdefender’s security suite of apps is due to its EXCELLENT (unbeatable) technical support team & staff! They know their products & the products’ functions (plus are extremely helpful with setup questions if you can’t find the answers you need in their FAQs). Not everyone is tech savvy, it is great to know that there is a company that supplies security apps that accommodate my needs PC/MAC/iOS/Android — best of all they provide a customer support team that CARES to help you resolve any issues with their security program apps in terms an average end-user can understand & apply. Very refreshing to find that their customer support team also replies to your questions & issues in a timely & courteous manner. I’ve NO REGRETS choosing Bitdefender security suite & individual security program apps after purchasing & comparing them (side by side on 2 separate different PCs) with other 2 current top brand personal security suite bundles I purchased last year. Their security suite products (combined program app offerings) are also reasonably priced in comparison to their competitors’ pricing for same type security app bundles.
