WARNING!
TO ALL THOSE LIVING IN THE CENTRAL BELT - STIRLING/FALKIRK AREA....
If you are thinking of buying a car this weekend, or indeed anytime in the near future, and if you wish to preserve your SANITY and have a SMOOTH run in the process, then my advice would be to STEER YOUR WHEEL straight past WESTEND SKODA GARAGE IN STIRLING.
My full and more detailed review will be posted for the benefit of potential buyers further down the line when they actually resolve the situation, now 8 months and counting, since we purchased our brand new model of the Skoda Superb Estate from them LAST JULY!
If you choose to bypass this advice then please read ALL THE REVIEWS (not just the first ones) before entering their premises and do ask around as well. I so wish that we had done this as their appalling reputation for poor customer care / satisfaction goes before them, that's for sure! There are a great many good and reputable garages to choose from in our area where I am sure you will be given excellent and knowledgeable advice with attention to detail by staff who have researched/done their homework on the cars they are selling! Because of their incompetence in this area we have been left with a car that is not fit for purpose, ie. to tow a caravan, having bought it on the salesperson's advice that we would have to wait a minimum of 3 months, but probably considerably longer, to get a factory fitted towbar but if we bought the one from the shop floor they would have one retrofitted in a matter of weeks. Now of course, with the money for the car deal and the towbar in their account, they are quick to blame the manufacturer but the fact quite simply remains that they hadn't researched the detail of what they were selling which makes them wholly responsible for this mess by misleading the customer with false information. I think we would all agree that when selling something at 40K+ it is pretty unforgivable to leave someone with a car that is unfit for purpose, especially when they knew from the outset we were purchasing the car because it had been advertised as tow car of the year 2024!
Two cancelled holidays later and since January this year, we have been told every fortnight that the towbar pieces will be arriving in the next 2 weeks. When you phone to ask, rather than admitting they were yet again 'stalling for time', they are either too busy to speak to us, or out of the premises, or in a meeting and then don't bother to return the calls as promised by the desk staff. That, in my book, amounts to downright rudeness. OUR JOURNEY WITH WESTEND GARAGE HAS BEEN DISAPPOINTING, DISHEARTENING. DISGRACEFUL ON THEIR PART BUT MOST OF ALL, UNBELIEVABLE!
