Several issues with this company

Last time my car went in for a service with the Edinburgh garage they advised that the wipers needed replacing due to smearing and the key battery also needed replaced. I declined and both are still working fine 8 months later.

They also incorrectly set my service interval to the fixed 10k mile one instead of the variable service interval even after I queried it. Had to contact Škoda uk to confirm correct setting.

Will be moving away from Škoda brand because of this company.

FREE MOT

I bought a Skoda Karoq from the West End Stirling branch at the end of 2024, and all things went well, and I was pleased with the whole deal. They also promised an MOT certificate as part of the deal once it expired. I have contacted them on chat on numerous occasions, phoned them often and their answer machine promised to return calls which they never did. I am now having to go to another garage to get my MOT. I was very disappointed as I thought I would probably deal with this company in future years due to a positive selling experience.
It is always sad when they are so attentive and detailed when selling but don't want to know you when it comes to following up their promises. I dread to think what would have happened if the car had developed problems after I bought it. If they cannot contact you to honour a deal like the MOT they promised, then I would not feel confident that they would attend to any issue that the sold car may have developed. For me, the aftercare that customers receive after buying a car is what differentiates between quality garages and poor garages.

Dunfermline branch obviously pushing for a new car sale

Dunfermline branch, massively over quoted work required to pass mot £6500!, so we got a second opinion and got the work done elsewhere £1700. When we came back to get a partial retest within 10 days they were so rude and would not take it for a month. Never going back there again. Got MOT for tomorrow at another garage.

Avoid

Purchased a,Skoda Fabia 2 months ago,, was assured by The salesman Mr George Lockhart the car had a timing chain and not a belt, and skoda would replace if required when serviced free of charge since found out it is a belt that will need replaced at intervals. When i called today i was told by a very rude manager that there was plenty life in timing belt. , he then put the phone down on me while i was speaking, Main Skoda dealer, REALLY

Karoq Purchase

Initially my Karoq purchase and handover went exceptionally well, (Thanks Filip), although I was disappointed to see that no fuel had been put into the car on delivery, there was barely £10 of fuel in the tank, a £44.00 fill up was not expected on a £30K purchase.
My issues started when I found this car on the longer drive home to become very unsuitable, due to a medial condition, it made me feel very unwell.
I called the dealership asking for help, or a reversal of the deal. to my utter amazement the immediate answer was no and this was followed up by an email advising they would buy the car back from me at £2K less than was paid 1 day previously and sell me back my PX at £1900 more.
Needless to say I didn't, but laugh I certainly did.
Would I recommend this garage to anyone else, No.
Will I tell my friends, family and colleagues, Oh Definitely Yes, and have done already.

Excellent dealership

From entering the garage to see a white convertible car which was up for sale I was treated so well by friendly non pushy salesmen both Charlie and Jim the salesmen were very helpful and kind I ended up part exchanging my car and the owner David was so helpful in doing all paperwork to change my registration etc without a problem and considering it held up the sale there was no urgency for them to complete the sale sooner of which most garages would have not gone the extra mile for me and I appreciate that.
I absolutely love my car after picking it up there was a couple of niggles which Jim immediately put right and feel there would not be a problem at any time which makes me feel safe I feel that I could honestly recommend this garage for the care and the commitment to their customers and want to say a big thank you to you all and wish you continued success for the future

Amazing service - West end Skoda, Stirling

From start to finish, I can't recommend this garage highly enough. Communication was fantastic, I never had to chase anything up, Cara in the service was so polite and helpful, she kept me updated regularly on the repair of my car. The car was fully cleaned and the remote key collection service made it easy to arrange collection over the weekend. Far better experience than some of the more common dealerships in Scotland. I will be using this dealership for all future repair and service requirements. Highly recommend!

WARNING!

WARNING!
TO ALL THOSE LIVING IN THE CENTRAL BELT - STIRLING/FALKIRK AREA....

If you are thinking of buying a car this weekend, or indeed anytime in the near future, and if you wish to preserve your SANITY and have a SMOOTH run in the process, then my advice would be to STEER YOUR WHEEL straight past WESTEND SKODA GARAGE IN STIRLING.
My full and more detailed review will be posted for the benefit of potential buyers further down the line when they actually resolve the situation, now 8 months and counting, since we purchased our brand new model of the Skoda Superb Estate from them LAST JULY!
If you choose to bypass this advice then please read ALL THE REVIEWS (not just the first ones) before entering their premises and do ask around as well. I so wish that we had done this as their appalling reputation for poor customer care / satisfaction goes before them, that's for sure! There are a great many good and reputable garages to choose from in our area where I am sure you will be given excellent and knowledgeable advice with attention to detail by staff who have researched/done their homework on the cars they are selling! Because of their incompetence in this area we have been left with a car that is not fit for purpose, ie. to tow a caravan, having bought it on the salesperson's advice that we would have to wait a minimum of 3 months, but probably considerably longer, to get a factory fitted towbar but if we bought the one from the shop floor they would have one retrofitted in a matter of weeks. Now of course, with the money for the car deal and the towbar in their account, they are quick to blame the manufacturer but the fact quite simply remains that they hadn't researched the detail of what they were selling which makes them wholly responsible for this mess by misleading the customer with false information. I think we would all agree that when selling something at 40K+ it is pretty unforgivable to leave someone with a car that is unfit for purpose, especially when they knew from the outset we were purchasing the car because it had been advertised as tow car of the year 2024!
Two cancelled holidays later and since January this year, we have been told every fortnight that the towbar pieces will be arriving in the next 2 weeks. When you phone to ask, rather than admitting they were yet again 'stalling for time', they are either too busy to speak to us, or out of the premises, or in a meeting and then don't bother to return the calls as promised by the desk staff. That, in my book, amounts to downright rudeness. OUR JOURNEY WITH WESTEND GARAGE HAS BEEN DISAPPOINTING, DISHEARTENING. DISGRACEFUL ON THEIR PART BUT MOST OF ALL, UNBELIEVABLE!

Bought a used fabia last year and I was assured that it would be serviced and a years mot put on it before collection neither was done and the sales manager lied fluently ever since about all sorts of things that have no bearing whatsoever on his downright lies. The failure to honour conditions on which I was buying the car and the the ignorance in the way they treated my complaints with more lies and ignoring my calls including head office in Edinburgh shows incompetence and disregard for their customers goes right the top. Ignore this bunch and buy your car from a reputable dealer!!!

Overcharged and under delivered

West End gave me a quote of $2200 to fix a DEF gauge that read empty. When picking up truck, they attempted to charge $2800...after discussion we paid $2600. They charged us over $50 for a 2.5 gallon jugs of DEF ($25 value) but yet the tank was empty. After taking the truck home and filling the DEF tank with over 7 gallons (7 gallon tank) we found the gauge was still not working. Their mech asked if I wanted to bring it back and have him look at it! They sent it to another place, got it fixed finally and then charged me another $300. Not once did anyone inform me about what became over $700 in up charges. This business has gone to crap since being bought out. West End will never see another truck from me or anyone that will listen. Poor communication, poor service, poor quality of work.

I gave Westend Garages a ring as the nearest KIA agents wanting to purchase a used Sportage. I spoke to Matt who arrange for me to review their 1-6 diesel from my home and test drive It. The Sportage was 8 years old it was in showroom condition. Matt arranged all the smaller details Road tax and transfers and within two days I personally went to the garage to collect it and met Matt and co workers with a friendly atmosphere and any questions I needed to know was given freely. My transaction was indeed a pleasant one and I highly recommend their business and Hospitality was certainly 5 star Service

KIA EV6 recall

Really disappointed with Kia west end garage, I received an email saying I had to return the car for some kind of recall which I accept with new cars this sometime happens as it has with other cars I've had.

I was informed they would need the car for at least 3 and half hours I spoke to Sami who very nice but no car was offered unless I paid for it, and once I returned to pick it up I was expecting the car to cleaned as even a small gesture , but no, the EV market is getting busier by the day I'm due a new car in a couple of years, good customer service goes along way!

Terrible Customer Service

No appointments available for several weeks, at which point the MOT would have run out. Taken in for an existing steering column issue that was under warranty. Instead they went through the car top to bottom compiling a list of issues that would need to be rectified in order for it to pass it's MOT that would cost over £4k, including the steering column issue they refused to honour under the warranty as there was "evidence" of a mouse being in the steering column. We live very rurally so this is naturally a probability. The list was run past other mechanics who confirmed that the majority of work listed was unnecessary to have it pass an MOT. Instead they offered us £500 for the vehicle to have it scrapped, as if they were doing me a favour. Perhaps they were as we replaced it with a Mini and couldn't be happier. We won't be returning to this brand. Ever.

Callum first class.

I had an inquiry regarding a Motability order on a Skoda Enyaq, I had already ordered from another dealer but the timescales were ongoing with no updates. Spoke with Callum the sales manager, and explained the situation and whilst he couldn't get me a car any quicker, nor place an order for me, he was very helpful with background information on lead times and current stock issues. I've had more information out of him than visiting 3 previous dealers, including the dealer I have placed my order. In the future, he will be my first port of call for anything in relating to Skoda. It says more about how a business treats customers they can't help, rather than customers who placed orders with them.

Complete shambles

Waited a week and a half for an appointment. I had a lot of play in my steering so I asked them if they could sort it.
I expect diagnosing and sorting this would normally take two hours, but they had my car for two days, so I had to take the second day off work.
The gentleman said he was going to diagnose the issue and sort it.
I expected it could be the steering rack inner joint as it was an advisory on previous MOT, but they changed an outer joint and my drivers side suspension arm, which was perfectly fine.
The gentleman said it was all sorted, the steering is great.
The steering wasn't great. Get car back and its exactly the same, play in steering wheel.
Didn't do a wheel alignment, which would have been the cheapest and best place to start, no diagnostic fee charged, so no-one diagnosed anything they just did a few things, hoping they would work.
Labour is £60 an hour.
Not from area, so took a gamble on a garage and lost bad.
Wouldn't go back here if someone paid me.

Terrible for Disabled Customers

My wife and I attended to enquiry about a new Skoda SUV and we couldn't find a parking space and more so a disabled parking bay.

I abandoned the car and we walked in. They did not have what we wanted to see in the the showroom. We were just about to walk out when we were stopped by a man in a suit.

He was polite but when asked about the disabled parking space he told us that they were being used to store new cars for customers. So your disabled customers come second place?

Well, I am sorry but that's of no use to a disabled customer in a wheelchair.

You very nearly got a sale but no! My money is safe in the bank and not going West End Garage way ever again.
