False Information

False Information. MM contacted me after my earlier review claiming that their team had 'reached out' to me. This is untrue. I have had no communication from MM since sending an email enquiry weeks ago.

Update: MM sent a message following this review, to ask me to update personal details. The substance of my complaint remains: email sent to MM - no substantive response. The preponderance of 1* reviews speaks for itself.

Truly appalling

Truly appalling. Wrongly charged for a data package in April 2024. Despite multiple messages there has been no attempt to address the issue. The Somerset Mall shop manager doesn’t want to help anxx so the CEO, Ralph Mupita doesn’t even acknowledge messages. Disgusting customer care - a view mirrored by many others here. MTN just don’t care.

Credit Score Issue

Email advising that my credit score had decreased. Advice on what to do to correct this: i) use less credit and ii) use more credit. They claim that lenders like one to use credit. Indeed, but prudent personal financial management suggests that one minimises credit usage, as this tends to save money. All my accounts have been used without problem - CCs etc paid off in full and on time. MSM are an unhelpful source of credit information.

Forget this outfit

Forget this outfit. I called them to ask for a spare part for my 27 year old Ellipse 3 Nordic Track exercise machine. I was told that they did not offer spare parts for anything over 6 years old!!

What a disgrace.

Raised issue of lack of impact of home assist claim on overall annual premium. Incorrect information from LV agent. Response within a couple of hours providing accurate information and offer of compensation. This is a paradigm of how to handle customer issues: prompt response and over-deliver. LV reflects Which?’s 5 star rating.

Just read HSBC’s response to my review which they clearly have tenor read. My first sentence: having banked with HSBC for 62 years…..’ They ask whether I bank with them?

They need to cease distributing bureaucratic rubbish and try and engage with customers.

Follow up reinforces complaint

Following Curry’s response to my review on 10 December, I sent a follow-up message to the address given. Six days later neither a response, not even an acknowledgment received. In addition, two emails to the CEO were neither acknowledged or replied to. Clearly,Curry’s does not care one jot about its customers.

Edit: If, as you say, you have received my email, why do you not acknowledge receipt and advise that a reply will be forthcoming. For any well-run organisation, this would be the minimum courtesy to clients.

Dismal after-sales service

Dismal after-sales service. Vacuum cleaner, bought from Currys a few years ago, now needs new filter. Try to get this!!!!! Forget it - the telephone people did not even understand what was being sought and there is no option to buy replacement parts on-line. Better to go somewhere else and perhaps pay a little more, to have decent after-sales service. I will not be buying at Curry's again.

Intrusive questions and threat of account closure

Intrusive questions and threat of closure.

Having banked with HSBC for over 62 years, I recently received a questionnaire whose alleged purpose was to 'safeguard' my accounts. While the aim is welcome, the questions were not. Among others: details of my investments and income, personal details (which they have on record since I opened my account in the 1960s), details of previous employment, address (which is shown on every statement I receive....) etc.

Much of this is confidential information which has no relevance whatsoever to account security. HSBC have repeatedly failed to specify why they consider it relevant.

They have threatened to 'restrict' my accounts (how, unspecified) or to close them. Suggest anyone thinking of using HSBC thinks again. I see that 85% of Trustpilot reviews are at the lowest rating.

Do not go near MTN

Further to my earlier review, I have now had over 120 separate exchanges with MTN's so called 'customer service' to resolve an issue relating to a 1Gb data purchase which appeared as 20Gb. This has involved emails with over 30 separate agents, who invariably repeatedly ask for details of the issue which have already been provided on multiple occasions.

They clearly have no interest in dealing with their customers in a fair and reasonable basis; the strategy is not to respond substantively to complaints and then to stonewall, presumably in the hope that the complainant will abandon the effort.

Do not go near MTN. They are a disgrace to themselves, to their customers and to South Africa.

Customer Service - or lack of it

NW app asks for confirmation of ID by way of a series of questions. These are both intrusive and largely irrelevant. When I pointed this out to the CEO, the reply was that these were a regulatory requirement.

When I asked why, if this was the case, none of my other CC or bank providers has asked these questions, no response was provided.

The regulatory body, the FCA confirmed that it was a requirement that a finance provider should give a clear and precise explanation of the source of any questions. Despite several emails requesting this clarification, none has been forthcoming.

Nationwide obviously does not understand the meaning of 'customer service'. The questions asked were entirely reasonable, and should have been answered clearly, and promptly.

Avoid this third-rate outfit.

Appalling 'customer service'.

I have had a paid subscription for many years. On recent renewal the subscription increased by 148%, without warning or prior notification.

Messages to the 'customer service'(!!) go unanswered beyond facile 'cut and paste' replies. The substantive question is not addressed.

Evernote used to be a great platform. It has sadly deteriorated in recent years and should be avoided.

Dire Customer 'Service'

Would be zero, if that were an option. Dire customer service: i) no phone number to make direct contact - the numbers given both direct to 'lost and found'. ii) the Live Chat link doesn't work, iii) emails are not replied to promptly.

If there is another way to take currency overseas - suggest you use it. Avoid FairFx.

Non-existent customer service.

This has to be one of the worst companies on the planet. I raised a query in April but despite many emails to their - inappropriately named - 'customer care' - team, no susbstantive response has been received. The latest response showed a non-existent understanding of the issue. In desperation, I emailed the CEO, who did not even acknowledge my message. That says all one needs to know about MTN's attitude to its customers. I will be transferring mobile accounts and internet provision elsewhere. Suggest you avoid MTN.
