They have a great selection of good quality jigsaw puzzles. Their service is fantastic and my order arrived quickly and promptly. It was well packaged and undamaged. I highly recommend this company.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL

On the 7th April, at The Black Swan in Helmsley, I booked a double room with a shower, preferably on the ground floor, as my wife and I have mobility issues. I was told there was only a small flight of stairs to our room number 23, On arrival we were shown a corridor and told the room was down there. It was quite a distance to walk and there were a few flights of stairs to negotiate. There is no lift. We are both Blue Badge holders and I was told parking was available. There are no guarantees that there will be a space available, if you leave the car park. Parking is very limited especially on a Friday when its market day.
Our room was basic and out dated. On looking round I found a note saying to leave used towels in the shower, there was already one there left by the previous guests. There were no toiletries only a soap dispenser which provided very watery liquid soap. The toilet was small, wedged between the shower, the wall and the toilet roll holder. Underneath the toilet seat was badly stained with urine, looked as if it had never been cleaned.
On the Friday we reserved a table for dinner at 6pm. We chose a starter of garlic mushrooms, the portion was very small. I had the steak and ale pie which was poor quality, with a few chips, a bit of cabbage and two slices of carrot.
We were asked if we wanted a couple of free drinks instead of the daily room cleaning service, as we were stopping for only two nights we accepted the drinks.
We had breakfast on the Sunday morning. The full English consisted of:
1 sausage,
1 rasher of bacon (over cooked}
1 egg
1 hash brown (nugget size)
1 small piece of black pudding
1 small spoonful of baked beans
........................over priced at £13 !!!
My wife had porridge which was too thin, would have been better served as a drink in a mug.
The counters for the continental breakfast were poorly organised, along with the tea/coffee. The rotary toaster was in use with no supervision, definitely too dangerous for children to use.
Overall an overpriced weekend, and on leaving we had to pay £75 for evening dinner x2, and 2 packed lunches.

Great cards

Great cards, stickers and wrap, delivered promptly and well packed. Definitely my go to place for birthday cards, Christmas cards and cards for that special someone, made extra special with a sticker on the envelope.

Do not use this company

We wanted a new bathroom as we both have mobility issues. We looked at various options and chose Assistive Bathing, who having read their advert, cater for the disabled. We rang Assistive Bathing to enquire, and a salesman called on the 10th May 2024 to give us a quote. He looked at our existing bathroom and saw that we had an adjustable metal frame over the toilet with a raised toilet seat fitted. He asked if we wanted a side entry to the shower or an end entry. We said an end entry with hand rails. The sink and toilet were part of one unit. We were told it would be a standard size. Which meant buying a new toilet seat to raise the height of the toilet. He did a drawing of the bathroom. We were not asked about the seat in the shower or the overhead shower head, which we don't use and did not want.
On the 3rd June 2024 work was to start and we took delivery of the goods. When the box arrived containing the sink/toilet unit the box was open, the unit was broken. The installer rang Assistive Bathing, they said it would be 3 weeks before the delivery of a new one. It could have been damaged before it was sent, the box was completely open. The installer said he could fix it, as it was a piece with 4 end holes and 4 on the face of the panel for locking pieces. So we said yes. The glass for the shower was for a side entry not an end entry but the installer used it anyway, even though we had told him that it was the wrong glass.
The bathroom was finished on the 6th June, 4 days after starting, even though we had been told it would take 6-7 days to complete. We found that the installer had fit a grab rail by the toilet, but the screw he used had gone through the wall into a bedroom wall, and damaged the wallpaper.
The bathroom sink leaked on the plug drain pipe. The fitter came back looked at it, messed about for a bit, didn't seem bothered. He said that his wife was with him in the van and they were on their way to Barnsley market, he would get the part he needed and come back another day.He said the plug was cross threaded on the sink.
The shower temperature control could be turned from cold to very very hot. The unit had been faulty from new and not tested. An engineer came out to look at it, took off the end piece and it was found to be a manufacturing fault. A child could have been scalded. We were sent a new control unit but it would not fit, holes would have to be redrilled, which would make holes in the wall panels. An engineer from Triton came out to sort it.
The pole holding the glass in the shower had been fitted into the ceiling and holes drilled in the base, with a piece of metal to support it. It had not been sealed so water had got through it under the floor and run down the hall wall and the hall ceiling.
The wall boards installed in the bathroom had not been sealed when they were installed, allowing water to get behind the boards and run down the stairs onto the carpet. The company was informed. We had to get the walls painted in the hall, staircase, landing and the kitchen. We also need a new stairs carpet.
We've had no apology or offer of compensation. They came out to look at the panels, the shower base had to come out and replaced, half the wall panels were taken out and sealed with silicon sealer. The floor was replaced and an end entry was made in the shower (what we originally asked for).
On the 24th January 2024 the pole on the glass panel was loose so another fitter came, a local guy, who took the glass panel out and the panel support arm from the wall to the glass. He found the wall fixing was loose, so he fixed it.He cleaned the shower base of old sealer and resealed it.
The first guy that installed the bathroom was from Newcastle and stayed in a hotel. Did the cost of this increase the price of the bathroom?
I rang Assistive Bathing, and asked to speak to a manager on a few occasions. I was always told he was busy and would get back to me but he never did. The last time I rang, I was told the manager would get in touch in the next 24 hrs. So I said so he'll ring tomorrow? No it would be 3 days as they count each day as 8 hrs. I'm still waiting.
Had we known about the poor quality of the product, the total lack of management, and poor customer service, I would have gone elsewhere. Its sold at a rip off price, we wasted £13,000. Do not do the same.

Their cards are unique

Their cards are unique, and are beautifully illustrated. I love their gift wrap which is colourful and the designs are lovely. I also use the stickers on all the birthday cards I send, and I'll be using them on this years Christmas cards too. The delivery is prompt and packaged with lots care and love.
