B&Q use third party suppliers online !

Shoddy B&Q service !!!
I ordered three packs of XXL cloth wipes from B&Q a trusted brand or so I thought,it appears they were using a third party supplier ? After one day I received an email saying the product had been picked up by Royal Mail and would with me shortly,when after 12 days the goods didn’t arrive,I complained to B&Q who said they would investigate,two days later I received another email saying that the product was out of stock,despite this,the ad was still online showing availability,I will never use B&Q again,if you allow a third party to sell goods under your name you risk jeapordising your reputation ! BUYER BEWARE !

Poor Food,Poor Service,Poor Attitude

On Thursday 10th October 2024,my wife and I went to the Fumo Restaurant in St Martins Lane,near Trafalgar Square,we arrived about 15mins early fortunately as it happens,the restaurant was busy and the tables packed closely together,we had never been to this restaurant before but had been to other San Carlo group restaurants,we were allocated 1.5hrs for our pre theatre dinner,it took half an hour to receive our starter plate ! my wife had ordered avocado and tomato salad and I ordered buratta with palma ham,my wife’s salad was not only tiny but contained hardly any avacado,she complained to the manager(Antonio)who was not at all sympathetic and told her “we are very busy and we are understaffed”he did not offer a replacement ! We then waited over an hour for our main plate,during the whole of this time our starter plates and cutlery remained on our table ! When the main plate arrived the waiter tried to put the plates on the table without removing the starter plates ? Only when I insisted he do this,were they removed,My sea food ravioli again was on the small side,but we didn’t have time to complain ! The waiter also forgot to bring me a knife and fork and I then waited 10mins for this to happen ! During our long waits I could hear lots of other diners complaining ! By the time I got my knife and fork my ravioli was less than warm ! From start to finish we were in the restaurant nearly two hours !
Following our visit we were sent a survey about our experience,within hours I was sent messages from both San Carlo guest services and the Fumo restaurant which I attach to this review,both messages apologised profusely and accepted unreservedly that service and food were not of an accepatable level,at no point in those messages did the writers state that we were being unreasonable in our criticism !
As you can also see from the message NO OFFER OF COMPENSATION WAS MADE FOR THE £108 COST OF THIS DISASTROUS MEAL AND SERVICE.
After two days of no further contact I called San Carlo Guest Services in Manchester and spoke to someone called Ben,I spoke to him for 20mins and at times I thought I was talking to a robot,as he kept repeating himself from a company denial script,he quite clearly had heard many many experiences like ours,despite once again admitting that the service and food were poor,he told me that the restaurant would learn from the experience and be happy to receive us again,he then directed me to a booking site,why would I want to return to the scene of the crime ?
Buyer beware this restaurant and the San Carlo group,are happy to take your money for poor food and diabolical service,but under no circumstances can you complain !

Great Tools,Great company !

I bought my battery powered lawn mower from Toolstation,who were hopeless when I reported to them one day after my purchase that one of the batteries was faulty ! They insisted that I had to return the faulty battery to the store in London(50mile away),rather than my local Toolstaion,6 mile away.I contacted Einhell who took control,paid for the battery return,then sent me a new replacement within days,perfect,every staff member I spoke to at Einhell was great and very professional,I now have a full range of Einhell battery operated tools and have scrapped all my engine and corded electrical tools,best diy decision I ever made,well done Einhell !

In this high tec world this is very disappointing !

I'm sorry that you are unhappy that we were unable to advise a weather forecast for your crossing. I'm afraid we aren't advised weather conditions for our sailings but we do notify all affected customers if we have to cancel or delay a journey due to inclement weather.

It is extremely hard to predict sea conditions/weather conditions as they are subject to change at any point and it is not our responsibility to advise such information; however the Captain will always study weather forecasts and sea state charts to navigate as calm a crossing as possible.

My wife and I were recommended to go the Noisy Lobster by our son and and his wife,when we returned from living in France 5yrs ago,since then we go as a special treat 3/4 times a year and have never been disappointed,until yesterday,I booked our table one week in advance for Easter,when booking,I asked for two table options,either a corner booth in the conservatory,or a table in the main restaurant by the window overlooking the sea.As we arrived on time there was a queue,as we stood in the queue,we could see through the conservatory window, people being seated at our first seating option ?despite being disappointed we thought no problem,we will have our second seating option,NO,we were shuffled off to a dark corner of the back of the main dining area where I had my back to the sea ! Feeling let down,we gathered our spirits,only to have them completely dashed when the serving lady Emelia told us that our two favourite dishes Monkish and Scallops were not available,we live inr Farnham,which is a round trip of 120miles,we were devastated,had I just had myself to consider I would have left,we muddled thru our meal which was fine but not what we wanted,the only thing that made it acceptable was Emelia the server,she realised that we were disappointed and gave us a lot of attention.
The Noisy Lobster experience relies on 4 key elements,good food,the view,ambiance and special service,unfortunately yesterday two of those elements were sadly missing,after paying our £150 bill,we walked backed to our car without the usual smiles on our faces,very sad !

Just before Xmas 2022,I took my Rolex…

Just before Xmas 2022,I took my Rolex Sea Dweller into Preston’s Guildford branch for a service,having previously been quoted by Chris the manager £600 for the service,a day after dropping off the watch I received a call from someone called Katie saying that in order to send the watch to their service dept,the need pre authorization from me for a further £650 of “possible” further service work they might have to do ? I refused and told them to contact me whenever that “possible” work was confirmed,as the tone of the call started to deteriorate,I ended the call,she then called me back and offered me £150 discount if I confirmed the pre authorisation,this. I refused as by then I had lost all confidence in Preston’s and told Katie to return my watch ASAP This took over a week as the watch had had been despatched to their service dept,this is not the sort of service level I expect of a high end jewellers and I would not recommend them to anyone !

Mi esposa y yo fuimos a almorzar aquí hoy, la vista es increíble, sin embargo, la comida y la bebida son demasiado caras y de baja calidad, nuestros entrantes llegaron, con 20 minutos de diferencia y fueron atendidos por un personal extremadamente hosco, nuestros dos entrantes eran jamón / melón, el camarero El que tomó el pedido no fue el mesero que trajo el primer entrante, fue un mesero diferente que, por cierto, vino a nosotros dos veces con comida diferente que no era para nosotros, cuando finalmente recibimos nuestro segundo jamón / melón, mi esposa había terminado el suyo. ! El melón estaba duro y solo quedaba un poco de jamón.
Antes de que recibiéramos el segundo jamón/melón, trajeron nuestros platos principales, por lo que estuvieron sentados durante al menos 15/20 minutos, la calidad de los platos principales hizo poco para mejorar la situación, fue un desastre, pagar 115 € por esto no es aceptable !

British Airways Holidays disaster !

My wife and I arrived for our 10night holiday on 8th Oct.2022,we stayed at the Pine Cliffs at almost the same time in 2021 and had an amazing holiday,which is the reason we booked again this year.The two holidays couldn’t be more different,in the intervening time the hotel has entered into a new business model whereby they are more interested in cooperate events,sales conferences etc.so instead of the relaxed.pleasant atmosphere of an upmarket hotel, the hotel was overrun with drunken,noisy,foul mouthed,obnoxious company people.
Most nights we were kept awake by the “rabble” returning to their rooms at 3-4am in the morning.
On complaining to the management,the response was very disappointing,just a shrug of the shoulders and a vague promise to pass our complaints on,we never got an apology from said management.
One night we went to the Piri Piri restaurant and were recommended a red wine costing 58€,the following day I saw the same wine in the supermarket opposite the hotel,the price was 5€ !!!

BP Connect shop London Stansted Airport

On the 17th November 2021,I dropped my wife off at London Stansted Airport to catch a flight to France,having driven almost 100miles from our home in Hampshire,I called in to the local BP Connect garage for some food and drink,the shop was very busy and it took about 15mins to choose my meal deal and pay,I then went to my car,which was parked in a designated parking spot,right outside the front door to eat my lunch.
One week later I received a parking fine demand from a company called MET for £100,or if I paid immediately £60,I appealed to BP and MET saying because I parked immediately outside the shop door,I saw no forecourt signs,both companies rejected my appeal.
According to MET,I was parked for 42min,12mins over the 30mins limit ?
I will never ever set foot in a BP garage again,this is not only a disgusting way to treat customers,especially in these Covid times,but also a disgusting,avaricious business model !

I would normally give Toolstation a 5 star rating but I recently bought an Xtend+Climb telescopic ladder from them which turned out to be too heavy and cumbersome to handle,I was told it weighed 16kg but it turned out to weigh 21kg,I took it out of the packaging very carefully,extended it twice and realised it wasn’t “fit for purpose” and repacked it and returned it “as new” to the suppliers TB Davies,I subsequently bought a conventional extending ladder from Toolstation,but was disappointed they had charged me £9 delivery for returning the telescopic ladder,is it my fault it was “not fit for purpose” NO

My review concerns Lloyds pharmacy in Odiham,Hampshire,this is possibly the worst customer service I have ever had,the staff and the pharmacist are so disorganised,my GP sent a prescription for me on Monday direct to the pharmacy,I rang in the afternoon to confirm that they had received it,the answer was yes and I could pick up the Athletes foot cream the following day(is this not a regular stock item ?)On the Tuesday my wife and I went to collect the prescription and after first being told that it was in but needed packing,then after waiting 40mins we were told only one of two tubes was in so could we come back on Wednesday for the second tube(ATHLETES FOOT CREAM !!!)This morning I went to pick up the cream and had to wait 20mins for it to be packed ? If it came in on Wednesday why wasn’t it already packed ? Whilst waiting a lady that was in front of me and had been waiting far longer than me,finally received her medication from the pharmacist only to be told by the lady that there should be double the amount,the pharmacist then returned to the dispensing area to correct the very obvious mistake.In addition to the pharmacist there were four other members of staff who seemed not to be doing much ! I will never use this pharmacy again,if it were not the only pharmacy in Odiham,this business would be bankrupt !

As a loyal John Lewis customer for over…

As a loyal John Lewis customer for over 40yrs I thought I would give them a chance to quote for my car insurance renewal and was very surprised to find that of the 10 companies I invited to quote they were in the top three most competitive ! I finally decided to go with them because of the service I had received over 40 years at their stores,they are an ethical company that sell quality products at fair prices and they employ good attentive staff ! Unfortunately after I thought all the hard work was done I then called their online customer service and the young lady I spoke to was far from helpful and for the most part obstructive,however I soldiered on and eventually completed my renewal,the reasons why I gave JL 3stars instead of 5,was purely because of my poor telephone experience.

We bought our V10 absolute about a year…

We bought our V10 absolute about a year ago,after 3months the battery was lasting 10mins on full power(on a lower setting it’s just an ordinary vaccuum)after several phone calls they agreed to send a replacement battery,this was no better but at least we could charge up two batteries which enabled longer run time,that said in order to change battery you have to remove 3 tiny fiddly screws then replace them the whole thing takes 20mins,why they couldn’t design it so it clips in and out like a drill battery is beyond me.W know have a problem with the vac showing it has a “blockage”despite the fact that we clean the filter every 3weeks,we first reported the problem at the end of December 2020 and despite countless promises of replacing the motor and the filter,we are still waiting for replacement filter that should have been delivered today(8/2/21) ???
Dyson is the most expensive vaccine cleaner of its type on the market,it doesn’t live upto its hype its performance is average at best and its South African customer service is shocking,as a so called “premium product” it is not fit for purpose and grossly priced !

The ordering process was fine however…

The ordering process was fine however it took 10days to arrive and the quality of the blind material was at best poor !
When fitting the blind I couldn’t release the mechanism and had to call their helpline who sent me a video which solved the problem in seconds however it would have been much simpler if it had been mentioned in the fitting instructions !
About six months ago I bought a larger version of the same type of blind from John Lewis and the blind material was of a much better quality and a cheaper price !

I recently bought a Brooklyn desk from…

I recently bought a Brooklyn desk from this company,I first tried to buy it at their store in Farnborough but was harassed so badly by the staff I eventually walked out ! When ordering online I was appalled that the £650 desk attracted a hefty delivery charge ? Then after waiting 10days for delivery the delivery drivers refused to unpack it and left like scalded cats,it took me 30mins to unpack the desk and the packaging filled a large wheelie bin,after taking off the last of the packing that covered the desk top I was devastated to find that the top was badly marked !!!!! I immediately called and sent pictures to Oak Furniture Land customer services who denied catagorically saying it was a naturally occurring feature of the wood,which was an absolute lie and quite clearly from the pics it was “DAMAGED” !
I will never ever use this despicable company again,I am now faced with a three figure charge to get the desk repaired,”Buyer Beware” never again.

I recently bought some oak doors from the Hook branch of Howden Joinery and found their customer service to be exceptional,the whole team from the manager Mark to Emilie,Lucy and especially Ben West were amazing,nothing was too much trouble.
Customer service today is the exception rather than the rule this team of people were not only different from the rest but very nice people,Well done !
