The problem with my backup program was that after backing up and restarting it recommenced the procedure . The technician discovered the fault, a bad drive and managed to persuade the computer to behave by ignoring the bad sectors and create a backup so that important data could be saved and advised saving the files to an external drive. I have done this and am ready to buy another PC

Rahul, worked speedily and quietly as I watched him thoroughly check the Acronis true image program. His approach was methodical, explaining what was happening.
I learnt more from him about backup than trawling through the myrad faq ‘s on the support site and felt confident to explore deeper in Acronis’s tools

With so many distribution companies delivering orders at different times it would be helpful if you and the carrier advise the customer when to expect delivery

some of the drivers were not compatible with my PC however those that were installed without a hitch
My Laptop is 5yrs old and I suspect the other drivers were for a modern PC
