Scammers
In 2020 I was approached by WAcademy, a sister company of Getspace, which has offered to design my website for free. Since then I’ve been charged multiple times for services I’ve never received, bought or subscribed to. On 30th Nov £227 was taken off my card. I’ve contacted the bank and was told to contact the company directly and request a refund, which I did. 4 weeks passed by and after few messages saying “allow 10 working days for us to respond”, I’ve just received a message saying: “you have to turn off subscription in your account (which I never had) and because 14 days passed since purchase you won’t be refunded”. They fraudulently used my card details and I’m glad I informed my bank immediately after I’ve noticed. Bank has blocked my card and FCA and police are investigating.
Edit 26/01: in reply below WAcademy is claiming that I’ve subscribed to the hosting service which is untrue, I have never subscribed to their services and never used their hosting. Further down they’re saying that I’ve been unsubscribed in 2021, and they don’t charge fraudulently… how would you then called the fact that I’ve been charged £227 In November 2022? How can I been charged if I’m not longer subscribed according to them? How can you call, other than scammers, companies that charge you even if you’re not their customer and after they do not reimburse you? SCAMMERS
