Be very wary

Bought from a website that uses Shop Pay for the first time, all OK. A few weeks later wanted to buy from another web retailer that uses Shop Pay and before (I thought) that I'd completed the transaction a message flashed up confirming my order. I had wished to use a different payment card on this second occasion as this was a business purchase but was unable to do so. Be very wary of buying from any online retailer utilising Shop Pay.

Extremely incompetent and frustrating

I am the landlord of a property supplied with gas and electricity by Ovo that was empty for 15 days between tenants. I was therefore responsible for the small amount of energy consumed during this time. The new tenant has contacted Ovo and received a welcome message.
However Ovo, having billed the previous tenant at the correct address for years, now send bills to 'the occupier' to the (incorrect) next door address - occupied by an 87 year old widow who is becoming increasingly distressed.
Countless phone calls and emails have made no difference. It is seemingly impossible to resolve this situation given Ovo's incompetence.

Utter shambles

I am unable to access my account. I have a new phone and when attempting to log in am asked to 'register my phone' and then asked to 'scan your registration code'. There is no registration code. There is no phone number to call and so the last resort was to email Oxbury, prompting the automated reply stating an aim to respond within 3 working days. One week later I have heard nothing. In the meantime I am denied access to my Oxbury account and am unable to withdraw the funds that I desperately need.
An utter shambles.

Very impressive service

I was very impressed with the service throughout. Ordered on a Saturday, delivery was available for the next day, but I opted to take it on the Monday. I was kept notified throughout of when the delivery would be and the fridge duly arrived at the stated time. The 2 delivery men were very obliging and friendly.
I would very definitely buy from Mark's Electrical again.

Very disappointing. I didn't think that there was much to go wrong with a fridge.
Bizarrely the fridge is freezing food at the same time as creating a pool of water. Door seal good, tried all settings but cannot rectify problem.

Switchcraft not worth one star

Switchcraft recommended that I switch from British Gas to Northumbria Energy, which I went along with. Before being 'onboarded', Northumbria took one month's payment of over £400. Never was onboarded, contacted Northumbria who stated that they would refund the money. They never did and now they've gone bust. Energy Ombudsman claims to be unable to help. Extremely disappointed with Switchcraft, any marginal savings I've made over the few years I've used them have now turned into a big net loss.
Problem compounded by the fact that while I was waiting for the switch, I did not accept British Gas' limited time offer for a new tariff that is no longer available.
I trusted that Switchcraft would recommend only reputable suppliers but they have let me down big time.

We are sorry to hear about your experience with Northumbria. All energy suppliers must fulfil stringent Ofgem regulations. We chose to partner with Northumbria because they had met these regulations and offered great pricing.

Northumbria should not have taken any payments ahead of switching. All customers were entitled to a full refund, with most having been refunded by Northumbria themselves.

I’m sorry that you did not receive a refund through Northumbria, but you are still entitled to a full refund through your bank under what is known as the ‘Direct Debit Guarantee’.

We have spoken to BACS - the organisation responsible for the Direct Debit Guarantee - who have confirmed all customers are entitled to a refund, so please do get in touch with your bank again if you haven’t done so already.

This is not a quality product

Took delivery of a timber framed swing seat after a prolonged wait. I am very disappointed in the product for a number of reasons. The timber is of very poor quality - on a par with that used in the manufacture of single use pallets. Some timber parts were split, some not drilled out as they should have been. Some hardware items were missing, some faulty (to be fair Charles Bentley did send these out when contacted). To compound the issues, the photographs of the product on the website and in the assembly instructions were inconsistent with the diagrams in the manual. I am not confident that this product will stand the test of time.

Don't trust Viking Direct

Placed an online order for a filing cabinet, suspension files and sundries, all of which were recorded as 'in stock'. Received acknowledgement of order and subsequent email to say that order had been dispatched and facility to track Yodel delivery the next day with requirement for a signature on receipt. Stayed in all of the next day to receive order, tracking the delivery van. Yodel van arrived and delivered just the suspension files, very obliging driver oblivious that a filing cabinet was part of order. Immediately contacted Viking Direct who informed me that the filing cabinet was not in stock and would take up to 5 working days to be delivered.
Do not trust that an item recorded as 'in stock' actually is. Assuming that the filing cabinet does eventually materialise, I will have lost 2 days in waiting for it ( I am not office based and so would not otherwise have been in). Most unsatisfactory, I will not look to order from VK again.
