The hardware works well however you are…

The hardware works well however you are locked into a subscription to use a lot of the features. If you are a home assistant user then avoid this as they have made it ap that without the subscription it's worthless. There is no true local integration and they have limited the API calls to the point it's useless without subscribing.

Good prices and good service

There is always apprehension when ordering from another country, knowing you could be dealing with excessive shipping times, customs etc.

With einfinity I've never had a problem. I started using them for lenses a few years ago and the experience was impressive. You are fully informed throughout the shipping and you usually receive the item within a week. Prices are very good too, so as long as you are comfortable with your warranty being in China then you can't go wrong.

Good product, issues with some technical support

Honestly this is a mixed one. I've bought a few dehumidifiers from Ebac over the years and I've been quick to recommend them. They work well and the warranty for mechanical breakdown has been good too when needed.

Now they've got smart dehumidiers, this is where my troubles start. I paid a premium for smart connected units (as opposed to the equivalent "dumb" unit) so I could automate it within my smart home. One of them is clearly faulty but they keep telling me they don't support it and I have to speak to the company who manage the smartlife app (they don't have anything beyond a chatbot that refers you back to the seller) when it's obvious to me it's a hardware issue. This issue has been going on for over 8 months now with Ebac essentially refusing to entertain it.

There is no technical troubleshooting available at Ebac. I would have been better off buying a "dumb" unit and buying a smart plug to switch it on and off and saving myself money.

Edit: Ebac did agree for me to return the unit for an engineer to investigate the issue and was found to be a faulty board in the unit. The units now been returned to me and works properly again. The staff on site were friendly and the repair was quick so I've updated my score to reflect that. I just hope more remote support is added for issues like this

Not really sure where the bad reviews…

Not really sure where the bad reviews have come from. I purchased mine through ultion but have had to speak to Nuki Support regarding a couple of issues and I had a decent response time.
Integration with home assistant seems to be working flawlessly and so far it's been reliable. Occasionally the auto unlock takes a while but is that my phone or the lock? No idea.

Downsides to me are;
For a premium device it feels cheap. The battery pack can get jammed and hurt your fingers releasing it. The lock line dial also feels cheap. I'm not convinced it could take much of an impact (ie. If the door swung into something)
Lastly if you unlock it manually, if you don't turn it far enough there is a dead spot where it will register as still locked.

Truthfully though for me, the benefits outweigh the negatives and I'm considering another. There are alternatives out there but they also have flaws and some are more severe than with Nuki.

Brilliant course delivery, I looked at several training providers and whilst I'm sure they are all great, UAVHUB came across as the most professional and user friendly.

The course content was good, the pace was just right and the presentation was engaging. The downloadable material to assist you post course is a nice addition.

Abysmal service

We've had this cover for a few years now and once it was good, we even had our washing machine replaced due to the engineers being unable to repair it.

It seems to have gone downhill lately, we've now had a broken washer for over 3 months. Four engineers have been out to fix it and each time they have claimed to fix it and then it's faulted on the first load.

We have tried to contact D&G but all we can do is book a new repair. The live chat doesn't work, the phone line just keeps you on hold for over half an hour before cutting you off. There is absolutely no way to speak to anyone about this so we either have to cancel and cut our losses or keep hoping they send a competent engineer out at some point who will actually repair the machine and check its fixed before rushing off to the next job.

I would avoid this insurance at all costs in the future
